"Morning Luna, can I have a word?
Mr. Carrington's voice was sharp as he stopped her at the office entrance.
Luna blinked, holding her folder close.
"Of course, sir. Is something wrong?
"You tell me," he replied, frowning.
"I received an email from your account last night. It was a harsh response to one of our clients. Very unprofessional.
"My account?" Luna asked, stunned.
"Sir, I did not send any such email. May I see it?
He handed her his tablet. Luna scanned the words, her stomach twisting. The tone was rude, dismissive, nothing like her style.
"This is not me," she said firmly. "I would never write like this.
Mr. Carrington sighed.
"I want to believe you, Luna. But the system shows it came from your address.
"Someone must have used my details," she insisted.
"Be careful," he warned.
"Your reputation is valuable, Do not let carelessness ruin it.
She walked to her desk, pulse racing. Jenna looked up immediately. "What happened? You look pale.
"Someone is pretending to be me.
They sent an email to a client, using my account.
Jenna gasped. "You mean her. The woman who looks like you. She is not just copying your face, she is copying your life.
Luna sank into her chair. "And it is starting to damage me.
At noon, Damien approached her desk.
"Luna, I need to talk to you.
She looked up, "Please tell me you are not about to accuse me of something too.
His expression was troubled. "This morning, one of the suppliers said you were rude to him on the phone. He described your voice, your words, even your laugh.
He was certain it was you.
Luna shook her head in disbelief.
"I was in the meeting room with Marcus all morning. You know that.
"I do," Damien said, lowering his voice. "But others are starting to believe there are two versions of you. And the second one is not kind.
Jenna joined them, whispering nervously.
"She is trying to ruin you, Luna. One small step at a time.
Luna pressed her hands against her temples. "Emails, phone calls, appearances. What is her end goal? To destroy my credibility?
Damien leaned closer. "Or to replace you completely.
Later that afternoon, as Luna prepared notes for a presentation, Marcus walked in with a scowl.
"I thought you said you would finish this report yesterday," he said.
"I did finish it," Luna replied quickly. "I left it on the shared drive.
"Well, it is gone. Deleted.
Luna's eyes widened. "Deleted?
Marcus crossed his arms. "And when I asked the tech team, they said you logged in last night and erased it yourself.
"That is impossible," Luna said firmly
. "I was at home all evening.
Marcus frowned.
"Then who was it?
Jenna spoke up from the corner. "It was her.
The copycat. She is everywhere, and she is dangerous.
Marcus glanced between them, still doubtful.
"Whoever she is, Luna, she is making you look unreliable.
That evening, Luna left the building later than usual.
The street was quiet, the sky turning dark.
She walked quickly, but then froze. Across the road, under the streetlight, stood the same woman. Selina.
Selina wore Luna's style of coat, carried the same type of handbag.
Even her stride mimicked Luna's. She stopped, lifted her chin, and smiled.
Luna called out, "Why are you doing this?
Selina tilted her head, as though amused.
"I am only showing the world another side of you.
"You are not me," Luna said firmly.
"Are you sure?" Selina replied softly.
Her voice carried across the street, calm and chilling. "Because soon, they will not know the difference.
Then she turned and vanished into the night.
The next morning, whispers followed Luna through the office corridors.
"Did you hear? She snapped at the client yesterday.
"Strange, I thought she was always professional.
"Maybe she is showing her true colors.
Luna pushed through the murmurs and entered the conference room for her presentation. She set her papers down, took a deep breath, and began.
But halfway through, the projector displayed slides filled with errors, misspellings, and irrelevant images. Gasps rose around the table.
"This is not the file I prepared," Luna said quickly. "Someone has tampered with it.
Mr. Carrington's expression darkened. "Luna, this is the second incident in two days. If you are struggling, say so. But do not blame invisible saboteurs.
Luna's heart clenched. She looked at Damien, searching his face for trust. He gave her a small nod, but the doubt in the room was heavy.
After the meeting, Damien found her in the corridor. "You are being targeted. That much is clear.
"Yes," Luna said, voice trembling.
"But no one believes me.
They think I am careless, or worse, lying.
Jenna appeared beside them. "You cannot let her win.
She wants you broken, Luna.
That is why she is attacking your reputation first.
Luna nodded slowly. "If she wants to take my place, she will have to do more than this.
I will not let her erase me.
That night, Luna sat in her apartment, staring at her laptop. She opened the system logs, searching for proof of tampering.
Hours passed, but all she found were records that looked exactly like her own actions. Same timestamps, same ID.
Whoever Selina was, she knew how to cover her tracks.
Her phone buzzed. A message flashed on the screen.
You cannot prove what you cannot catch.
Luna's breath caught. Her fingers trembled as she typed back.
Who are you?
No reply came.
The next day, Luna's assistant, Jenna, rushed into her office.
"Luna, this is bad. Someone called Mr.
Carrington this morning pretending to be you. They told him you wanted to resign.
"What?" Luna shot up from her chair.
"He was shocked, but he believed it until he saw you walk in.
Luna slammed her fist lightly on the desk.
"She is pushing harder now. She is not just ruining my work. She is trying to erase me completely.
Jenna whispered, fear in her eyes. "What if she succeeds?
Luna met her gaze, determination settling in.
"She will not. Because I am still here. And I am going to stop her.
