Chapter 2 - System

**If his memory is cleared, he will become a real D-class cannon fodder.**

**So, he must protect his memory.**

"Other people who travel through time have systems; I should have one too. system, where are you? come and show up!"

Luican shouted in his heart.

He hoped that the system would appear and solve his current crisis.

However, no voice responded to him.

"Don't I have a system, nothing at all, how can I play this!"

After a long time, he was disappointed.

He stood up.

Walking around, this is a closed space.

Except for a transparent glass door in front, through which he can see the door of the cell opposite, there is nothing else.

"Hi!"

He knocked on the glass door, trying to communicate with the prisoner opposite.

Now, he must save himself.

Here, there is only one end: being sent to fight the anomalies.

However, he knocked on the glass, and no sound came out.

It was like knocking on cotton.

His eyes trembled.

He shouted at the prisoner opposite and found that his voice could not penetrate.

The glass door blocked all sound transmission.

The prisoner opposite did not respond.

"This..."

After trying for a long time, he collapsed to the ground.

This is a complete cage.

There is no way to communicate with other D-class personnel.

Everyone is isolated.

They can only wait to die in the cell, waiting to be sent to fight the anomaly.

"Buzz..."

Suddenly, a series of violent alarms sounded.

The glass door of the cell suddenly opened.

Luican was stunned and felt uneasy.

"Please D-class personnel from sequence D-1008 to D-1018 step out!"

A cold electronic voice sounded.

Luican looked down.

The sequence on his chest was exactly D-1008!

He knew he was going to be sent to fight the anomaly.

He took a deep breath and walked out of the cell.

Outside was a long corridor.

On both sides of the corridor, there were densely packed cells.

There were ten D-class personnel in total, the same group that had been sent in with Luican.

"Sent to fight the anomaly so soon, it seems that the SCP's D-class personnel reserves are seriously insufficient!"

He felt wronged.

Because he was the only survivor, he had to take the blame.

Therefore, he was sentenced to become D-class personnel.

According to Protocol 12, there was a serious shortage of D-class personnel.

Anyone could become D-class personnel of the SCP.

At the end of the corridor, there stood a tall man.

"Follow me!"

The man looked coldly at Luican and the other ten people.

Luican and the others walked towards the man.

The man led them to a corner.

Suddenly, the scene in front of them became clear.

A huge transparent cage appeared in front of them.

A massive lizard-like anomaly was imprisoned inside it.

"Go in and kill it; this is your weapon!"

The man gave Luican a weapon.

It was a special rifle, loaded with blue liquid bullets.

"Unmovable Nether Dragon, a Safe-class level 3 anomaly!"

Luican's pupils shrank.

The anomaly in the cage was a Level 3 anomaly, the Unmovable Nether Dragon, a Safe-class anomaly contained by the SCP Foundation in recent years. It wasn't even formally archived by the SCP Foundation yet. The Unmovable Nether Dragon's defense was somewhat similar to SCP-682's, but much weaker. It did not possess SCP-682's regenerative abilities.

Anomalies are generally divided into levels one to nine, with level one being the weakest and basically judged able to coexist peacefully with humans.

Levels one to three are Safe-class anomalies, levels four to six are Euclid-class, levels seven to nine are Keter-class, among others...

Among Safe-class anomalies, level three anomalies are very dangerous.

The SCP Foundation generally secures anomalies and then finds ways to contain them.

Once an anomaly is found to be untamable, termination procedures are enacted.

The level three anomaly in front of him was clearly slated for termination.

Luican was furious.

The SCP was getting lazy.

A level 3 anomaly required D-class personnel to handle?

An SCP combat task force could eliminate this level 3 anomaly quickly.

But now they were being sent to die.

"Why?"

Luican looked at the man.

The man glanced at Luican coldly.

"How can a D-class personnel who hasn't undergone a trial by fire be considered qualified!"

The man smiled strangely.

Luican's heart trembled.

This level 3 anomaly was actually being used to train them!

"Damn it!"

Luican clenched his fists.

"The human is the knife; I am the fish!" *[Meaning he is utterly at their mercy, like a fish on a chopping board.]*

He tightened his grip on the rifle.

A door opened on the cage.

The level 3 anomaly suddenly charged over fiercely.

"Go in!"

The man said coldly.

And, beside him, a dozen SCP task force soldiers armed with live ammunition had appeared at some point.

Luican and the others looked in fear at the frenzied level 3 anomaly in the cage.

But, they were forced to go in.

"Go in now!"

The man shouted.

The task force soldiers behind him moved forward menacingly.

Luican and the other ten men had to enter the gate.

Inside the cage.

Luican and the ten men stood back-to-back, looking in horror at the level 3 anomaly in front of them.

"Roar!"

The level 3 anomaly roared.

Its massive body rushed over like a mountain.

"Aim for its eyes! "

Luican said loudly.

As a former C-class personnel, he was quite familiar with these anomalies.

To kill this level 3 anomaly, they had to attack its eyes.

However, the terrified men could not focus their fire on the anomaly's eyes.

Although many of them were death row prisoners, they had only dealt with humans before.

They had never seen an anomaly.

Many were already scared and firing blindly.

"You only have 20 bullets; conserve them!"

Outside the cage, the man was very dissatisfied with the D-class personnel inside.

As excellent cannon fodder, they should cherish their bullets.

And they must learn how to kill anomalies effectively.

Instead of shooting randomly like a disorganized mob.

"Thump..."

The massive body of the level three anomaly pressed forward.

A D-class personnel was swatted away by one claw, blood spraying through the air.

The other D-class personnel were terrified and ran away frantically.

The rifles in their hands fired wildly.

The level three anomaly grabbed a D-class personnel with one claw, threw it into its mouth, and swallowed it in one bite.

Luican was terrified. This level three anomaly was too frightening.

"System, if you don't come out, I'm going to die!"

He shouted in his heart.

The level three anomaly pounced; its huge body smashed down like a mountain.

Luican rolled over in fear.

He barely avoided the attack of the level three anomaly.

"Ding!"

"Does the host wish to devour this Unmovable Nether Dragon? "

At the critical moment of life and death, the system finally arrived.

Luican was thrilled.

"Devour!"

"Roar!"

The Unmovable Nether Dragon suddenly went berserk, roaring at the sky.

Its body shook wildly, and the flesh on its body suddenly began to disappear.

The massive body was melting and shrinking.

"What's going on?!"

Outside the cage, the man's eyes widened.

The task force soldiers next to him all tightened their grip on their weapons, aiming at the Unmovable Nether Dragon.

Luican was also stunned by the abnormality of the Unmovable Nether Dragon.

Because he felt an inexplicable connection forming between him and the Unmovable Nether Dragon.

It was an invisible thread connecting him and the Unmovable Nether Dragon.
