Chapter 2 - Chapter 1

What a beautiful garden. Alexa walked through the garden, smiling. Her smile was as beautiful as the flowers in front of her. A smile she rarely showed to others. Alexa sat down and picked some flowers, then put them in a basket she had prepared. Alexa intended to give these flowers to her parents and older sister, they would surely love them. She would give the rest to others, they would surely love them too. Alexa now had a variety of flowers in several colors in her hands.

There are Alexa's favorite lilies, which symbolize purity. These flowers will be placed in a vase in her room. Alexa will give red roses, which symbolize love and passion, to her parents in the hope that their love will be eternal. She will give sunflowers, which symbolize enthusiasm, to her brother. She will give lavender, which symbolizes tranquility, to her childhood friend Becca as a token of gratitude for always bringing her peace. and finally, carnations, symbolizing love and admiration, which Alexa will give to Sean.

Alexa felt that she had picked enough flowers and decided to go home. Before leaving, Alexa looked back at the garden in front of her. Alexa then closed her eyes to find more peace, feeling drops of water hitting her face it was raining. Realizing this, Alexa immediately ran and hurried into the car parked not far from there. Alexa couldn't get caught in the rain. The car drove off and stopped at the Hart family mansion. Alexa hurriedly got out with the basket of flowers already in her hands. Before entering the mansion, Alexa checked all the flowers again, they were wilted. The fresh flowers Alexa had picked earlier were all wilted, not a single one left. Could it be because of the rain?

The vibration of her cell phone on the table woke Alexa up. Alexa gently rubbed her puffy eyes as she woke up. Alexa looked around at the familiar room. "I fell asleep here." Alexa's eyes fell on the figure lying there. The man looked thinner than the last time Alexa saw him. The wrinkles on his face did not detract from his handsomeness. Alexa imagined how handsome and dashing he must have been in his youth. He must have been the heartthrob and the object of desire for women in his time. Like Sean. Alexa checked her phone and found 11 missed calls and spam texts from Becca. They were reminders not to forget to attend the High School Reunion Prom that night. Alexa exhaled, she almost forgot. Alexa would not waste this opportunity. This reunion was Alexa's first meeting with Sean again, after Alexa had disappeared for several years.

Sean. Alexa always smiled when she thought of him. He was a tycoon, an only child who would inherit the Sterling family fortune. How could Alexa not be crazy about him? Sean was Alexa's type in every way, from his looks to his wealth.

Before leaving, Alexa kissed the forehead of the man who was lying weakly on the hospital bed. Alexa had to prepare herself for tonight's reunion. Alexa had to dress up beautifully. The car Alexa was riding in stopped at the Hart family's main mansion. She had just stepped out, touching the red carpeted floor. Alexa stared at the building that had accompanied her childhood. It was a magnificent building with a beautiful classic interior. The beautiful building was her home but she didn't feel at home. Alexa's gaze met the eyes whose warmth she had been longing for. Then, she turned to the beautiful woman beside her, Alyssa Marielle Hart. She was the eldest child of the Hart family and Alexa's older sister. Her body looked fuller than the last time Alexa left this house. Her hair was thick and beautiful. Beautiful. Alyssa approached, spreading her arms wide, intending to embrace Alexa. Alyssa missed her little sister very much. Seeing the scene in front of her, Marrie, unable to hold back her emotions, stepped closer and joined the warm embrace. Alexa, realizing that Marrie was also hugging her, tried to break free from the embrace. The relationship between mother and daughter had indeed been strained for a long time.

"Lexie, Mommy misses you so much." Marrie, who realized Alexa was avoiding her, could only remain silent. Alexa's gaze was always cold towards her. A gaze that was difficult to interpret.

"ALEXAAAA!" Becca's shout broke the tension between mother and daughter. Alexa, who saw Becca at the other end, immediately ran and hugged her tightly. Alexa missed Becca's loud voice, even though it often disturbed her peace and quiet.

Everyone knows that Alexa is a cold person who is difficult for certain people to approach. However, Alexa is cheerful with those closest to her. Alexandra Marielle Hart is the second child of the Hart family. Coming from a tycoon family, Alexa is accustomed to a life of luxury, making it difficult for her to get along with people from lower social classes. It's no surprise that people often see Alexa as a beautiful yet arrogant and conceited woman. After all, she refuses to befriend those from lower social circles. Perhaps this is why Alexa only has two close friends, Rebecca Althea Vale and Ocean Sterling.

The door to the room opened, and the maid quickly and carefully brought in two dresses designed by a famous designer. She hung the two dresses near the window, where the lighting was good enough to highlight every detail of the stitching. Then, Alexa motioned for the maid to leave.

"Which dress do you think suits me better, the blue one or the white one?" Alexa asked Becca for her opinion. She was confused about which dress to wear tonight. The beauty of both dresses made it difficult for Alexa to decide.

"Wow, they're both so beautiful," exclaimed Becca, unable to hide her admiration, her eyes sparkling as she looked at the two dresses designed by famous designers.

"Lexa, do you still like Sean?" Becca's words caught Alexa's attention as she was busy looking at every detail of the dress Becca had chosen. Becca fell in love with the blue dress, her eyes staring at it in awe. Becca suggested the blue dress because the color suited her fair skin and also matched the theme of tonight's reunion: Starry Night.

Alexa took a deep breath. "I don't know if this is an obsession or not, but I want Sean to be mine. No matter what it takes."

"That's an obsession. What if Sean has already found the right woman for him? Are you still going to pursue him?" Becca's words made Alexa fall silent. There was a long pause. Then Alexa spoke up.

"It depends." Alexa's words confused Becca a little.

"Depends? Does that mean there's a good chance you're still after Sean?" Becca stared at Alexa, surprised that Alexa's feelings for Sean ran this deep.

"I've come this far, Becc, 15 years. My departure 9 years ago, another reason was because of Sean. I tried to forget him, I wanted to try to start my life again without him. I don't want to be like this. I want to enjoy my youth normally. I just want to focus on pursuing my dreams. I'm not as stupid as you think, whose life is only for love. Men come and go. In the end, the only one who can save us is ourselves. My life would be a waste if I only pursued love at an age when I should be improving myself and developing my skills. After everything I've been through, it turns out I still can't forget Sean. Now I ask myself, What am I lacking? Aren't I smart enough now to prove to Sean that I can make my dreams come true? My brain isn't as empty as he said when he called me just a lazy girl whose bag is only filled with makeup. So what other reason does he have to reject me now?" Alexa turned her back on Becca and walked towards the balcony.

"Lexaa." Hearing Alexa's explanation brought tears to her eyes. It hurt. Becca understood how Alexa felt. Becca tried to get closer and hugged Alexa tightly. Alexa, realizing this, immediately hugged her back tightly.

"Lexa, you deserve to be loved. You deserve to find a man better than Sean. Someone who appreciates you, who loves you sincerely, who doesn't make you beg for his love and attention." With a trembling voice, Becca tried to explain that Alexa deserved better. Alexa deserved to live a life full of love. Alexa was not born to be a beggar for love.

"But who is better than Sean? You know, that's what makes it hard for me to forget him. Because there's not a single flaw in Sean that makes me dislike him." Alexa looked at Becca questioningly. The three of them had been friends for a long time, and Becca knew how good Sean was to Alexa. What hurt Alexa was her own expectations. Humans are prone to error.

We've all made mistakes in understanding others, we've all made wrong decisions, we've all hurt each other. We can never avoid feeling disappointed in people, no matter how good they are. It doesn't mean we're evil, but because we're human.

A few hours later, the spacious and magnificent ballroom was decorated predominantly in black and dark blue, accented with bright yellow like the moon and stars in keeping with the starry night theme. The air was filled with laughter and music. These songs were requested by Julian Reed. Julian, who was known for his excellent taste in music, was entrusted with this task by his friends. One by one, the guests began to arrive and fill the hall. The reunion was about to begin.

Not far from the corner of the room, the silhouette of a man sitting in a midnight blue suit with a black bow tie that added a touch of elegance could be seen. His dark brown hair was neatly styled with a classic side part, as if to emphasize his authority. The man stood up and walked towards the crowd, drawing everyone's attention. He was a young tycoon who was not only attractive because of his wealth, but also because of his charismatic aura that was difficult to ignore. Who could not be stunned by his good looks? He had a firm face, a tall body, a pointed nose, blue eyes, and very healthy skin. Handsome. That was the word always used to describe Ocean Sterling. The most wanted guy in his school back then. Many of them secretly admired him, but they were already insecure about having to compete with Alexa.

Sean glanced around, as if looking for someone. Whoever it was he was looking for, his gaze stopped at a woman in a blue dress that fell like a starless night.
