Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Yang Seal and the Mangekyō Sharingan

Note: There are Ch*nese terms in this chapter that don't refer to typical Ch*nese poisons. Instead, their explanations are closely tied to the original Naruto series.

In the serene courtyard of Uzumaki Mito's estate,

"Fire Sealing Method!"

With a focused shout, Rihito Sato channeled his chakra into a spread-out sealing scroll. The flames burning on the ground nearby were swiftly drawn into the scroll, and a large "封" (Seal) character appeared on its surface. Only then did Rihito let out a long breath.

Not far away, in a side room, Tsunade was buried in a mountain of books, absorbed in intense study.

Watching Rihito flawlessly complete yet another sealing technique, Mito gave a small approving nod. A satisfied smile tugged at her lips, though it was accompanied by a subtle dilemma:

What else could she possibly teach him next?

She had just gifted him the scroll with nine foundational sealing techniques yesterday, yet today, Rihito had already returned, claiming he had mastered them.

Naturally, Mito hadn't believed him.

But to her astonishment, Rihito proceeded to demonstrate each and every one of the techniques with ease. He even mentioned he had independently grasped a more advanced seal, Five Elements Seal, but couldn't perform it yet due to a lack of chakra.

She had known the boy was a genius…

But this fast?

Those "tadpole-script" sealing runes, how are they that easy to learn?!

Mito couldn't help but feel she had stumbled upon a once-in-a-generation prodigy.

She narrowed her eyes slightly, now truly curious, just how far could this boy go?

So she raised the bar.

She began teaching him:

Each increasingly complex.

- Some for sealing physical objects.

- Some for energy.

- Some for souls.

- Some for the body itself.

Rihito was hit hard.

Though the system granted him instant comprehension, the data load from these high-level seals was too much. He ended up getting chakra-sick, nauseous, dizzy, and even vomited.

Mito assumed he couldn't keep up.

But when she began testing him on technical details,

Rihito answered each question flawlessly, not just with memorization, but true understanding.

Mito's eyes lit up.

With this, she made up her mind:

He would be her true successor.

Her entire lifetime of knowledge, inherited from the ancient Uzumaki clan, would be entrusted to this child.

After all, the clan's sealing arts had long been absorbed into the Senju lineage, and the Senju had since spread across the whole of Konoha.

One more practitioner wouldn't hurt.

Still, as a safeguard, Mito placed a memory-protection seal on Rihito, just in case he ever died or was captured, ensuring the clan's secrets would not leak.

Rihito accepted it without hesitation.

I'm just a barefooted kid, what do I have to lose?

Besides, with the system watching my back, I doubt Mito would dare pull anything.

She's not Orochimaru.

She doesn't want my body.

So… take the benefits now, ask questions later.

Rihito's only real weakness now was chakra capacity.

But Mito had already provided the solution:

She passed down her exclusive S-rank forbidden jutsu, the Yin Seal.

Once his body matured, he could begin cultivating it.

It would allow him to store unused chakra over time and release it during battle.

It also preserved youth, one of Mito's personal secrets.

Unfortunately, it couldn't be practiced by children, as it interfered with growth and development.

So for now, Rihito's schedule was split in two:

Daytime: ravaging the ninja academy library.

Afternoon to evening: intensive sealing instruction under Mito.

He studied sixteen hours a day, with no breaks.

While basic techniques were easy,

Mito had begun teaching him the theory, philosophy, and framework construction behind custom sealing techniques.

Why this rune here?

Why this placement?

Why does this seal draw on yin chakra while that one doesn't?

None of this could be learned from scrolls.

This was ancient knowledge passed down mouth-to-ear, honed over generations.

While Rihito was grinding away, Tsunade was quietly clenching her teeth.

She wasn't the kind to lose easily.

Seeing Rihito study for sixteen hours a day triggered an intense sense of crisis.

He's already a genius, yet he's still working harder than me?

Tsunade transformed her pressure into drive and began grinding just as fiercely.

Ebisu Hiru, meanwhile, was under tremendous pressure.

Being around two freakishly hardworking geniuses required serious mental fortitude.

Tsunade's thought process was simple:

Fine. I can't outwork Rihito…

But I sure as hell can outwork you.

And so, the cycle of mutual academic warfare began.

A year passed in the blink of an eye.

While Rihito no longer paid much attention to building Reputation Points,

The past year had brought him tremendous gains.

He had completely mastered the entire catalogue of Uzumaki sealing arts.

Now, he was even beginning to develop his own original techniques.

After extensive discussion with Mito, he had found a direction for his research,

What remained now was the slow process of testing and iteration.

The Idea: Yin-Yang Dual Seals

The Yin Seal, as taught by Mito, stored large amounts of yang chakra in the forehead, specifically, the pineal gland area.

This had deep parallels with Taoist concepts like the Upper Dantian or the Niwan Palace.

So Rihito wondered,

If I could develop a matching Yang Seal, one that stores leaked spiritual energy from the brain...

Wouldn't it nurture the soul?

Could it even lead to a state of spiritual projection or divine awareness?

And if the Yin Seal could shift from the forehead to the Lower Dantian,

Then the two seals could form a Yin-Yang loop within the chakra network,

Mutually supporting, endlessly cycling.

In theory:

Eternal youth.

Profound longevity.

Maybe even… a " God."

Mito was deeply intrigued.

After all, she didn't have much to do these days.

This new project gave her purpose, and she threw herself into Yin-Yang Sealing Theory.

Meanwhile, Tobirama Senju, the Second Hokage, had been keeping a close eye on Rihito.

When he learned of this new theoretical framework being developed by Rihito and Mito,

He immediately grew interested.

As the inventor of countless forbidden techniques, like Edo Tensei and Soul Binding Seals,

Tobirama had done considerable research into the soul.

So when he heard Rihito's plan to nurture the soul through spiritual seals,

He contributed heavily, offering extensive research materials from Konoha's archives.

He even summoned notable experts in Yin Release techniques from across the village:

The Yamanaka Clan for spiritual projection,

The Kato Clan for afterlife jutsu,

Even a few Uchiha joined the project.

At last, the Yang Seal v1.0 was complete.

To test its effects, the team needed a brave volunteer.

And so-

Uchiha Kagami stepped forward.

By willingly becoming the first experimental subject…

He awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan.
