years later, when Princess Lyra and Martins had completely grown into adults, their love grew stronger than anyone could imagine. He didn't find the answer to his question about why he was in love with the same people he wanted to destroy.
One afternoon, while he was in his garden, a little place where he found comfort, Princess Lyra came running to him, all in tears. Her hair looked unkempt, and her feet were bare.
"What happened?" Martins rushed to her, scared she might slump to the ground at that moment.
With her eyes totally covered in tears, she looked up at him and said, "Father and brother want me to marry Prince Lawson from the Landmark Kingdom."
His hands, which were holding Lyra, suddenly lost their grip, and immediately both of them fell to the ground. It was as if the ghost of Prince Rayon rose from Martins' body. "They can't stab me in the heart a second time," he roared like a lion.
This made Lyra look at him in fear; she didn't understand what he meant by that.
"A second time, what does that mean?" she asked herself.
In anger, Martins got up; he wasn't in total control of himself again, and he couldn't even calm his spirit to explain things better. Lyra was the only reason he was holding himself back from destroying the Royal House. But he couldn't help it this time.
With his eyes totally red, he moved to the heavy gates that were shut against the palace building. With his magical powers, he raised the gate up.
At that moment, Lyra just stood behind him, she was even more scared.
Immediately, the palace guard ran to stop him with their heavy weapons. But just like a piece of trash thrown up by the harmattan breeze, he flung them away, throwing them to the other side of the palace walls.
This commotion made King Fredon, his Queen Anora, and Prince Ray ran out of the palace living room to see what was happening. With what they saw, they were too shocked to understand the whole scenario and why their daughter was with a strange man.
"I am Prince Rayon, the one whom you murdered in cold blood. And I demand to know the answer to all my questions," he screamed.
With disbelief and surprise, King Fredon looked at his wife in tremor.
His wife knelt down in fear, begging for mercy for their lives.
"I didn't intend to do it, son," King Fredon replied. "Your mother, Princess Clara, my second wife, died immediately after she gave birth to you, and this made the love I have for you decrease."
"After you saved us from the looming disaster that day, your stepmother insisted that you be eliminated, as your existence was going to put us in danger."
"So I had no option but to consider her request, given how mighty your power was."
"I feared that one day you might destroy us all—just the same way you killed your mother during birth."
Without Martin uttering any words, and from a distance, he stretched out his hands to where Queen Anora was kneeling. He twisted his hands and raised them up, just like what seemed to be a command. Queen Anora rose above the roof of the palace grounds, and he dropped his hands immediately, intending to crash heron the floor.
Lyra quickly ran to save her mother. She couldn't just allow her mother to die like that. Despite discovering the atrocity her mother had committed, she didn't care. At this point, she chose her mother's life over Martin's love. With her own magical powers, she stretched out her hands and gently placed her mother safely on the floor.
Martin turned to Lyra. Love restricted him from destruction. He pulled himself back a little and just stared at her. He already knew this was the end for him because any further attacks could make them fight each other. How could he stand to hurt the same woman he had truly lived to love?
With so much disappointment on his face, he turned back and walked straight away from the palace without looking back.
Lyra stood in one place and couldn't utter a word. She saw the man she loved walking away from her.
What a dilemma she had just found herself in! She ran in tears into the house, leaving her parents and brother behind.
Martins walked straight home to his parents; he found them at home having lunch. Without uttering a word, he walked straight into his room, packed up a few of his belongings, and came out.
His mother quickly stood up and grabbed her son, demanding to know what the problem was. His father just looked at them from where he was sitting.
With tears in his eyes, he said, "I am going far away from this place, from seeing everyone who has betrayed me." His mother didn't understand what he meant by that. She just stood in confusion, staring at her son.
Martins walked down the lonely and rough road. His heart was filled with tears and darkness. His legs hardly carried him as he struggled to walk along the path. So many things flashed through his mind: from the day he was killed by his very own father to discovering the truth about his real mother. No wonder Queen Anora wasn't against his elimination.
He taught about his birth, his identity, betrayal, an unfulfilled mission, and a deeper scar in his heart,
A world where love is a complex, profound emotion and concept, encompassing strong affection, deep care, and commitment towards another person. It can disrupt personal priorities, causing one to neglect other important areas of life.
As he walked down the lonely path, he thought about how his new life was going to be. He was going to another kingdom to create an empire of his own, where he could use his magical powers to perform the extraordinary. He made a promise to himself that Bergen kingdom would hear of his mighty reign. After he had built this mighty empire, he would surely come back to fight and reclaim Princess Lyra.
