Synopsis
Takumi, a proud and grumpy Kitsune, carries the soul of a fallen prince cursed by tragedy. For twenty years, he has wandered Japan searching for his lost love, Ayumi — a woman whose soul was reborn without memories of him. Marked by the goddess Inari Ōkami, his destiny hangs between love and vengeance. But when the past comes back to confront him, Takumi's resolve begins to waver...
Excerpt (Chapter 1: The Rebirth)
The story takes place during the period of feudal Japan.
There was a Kitsune named Takumi. He was said to be arrogant and grumpy. Rumors whispered that he was the reincarnation of an imperial prince with a tragic past and that he was in search of his beloved Ayumi.
He stood tall, almost six and a half feet. Half-man, half-fox.
Eyes glowing a vivid crimson.
Hair flowing long and wild, streaked black and white, the same colors as the pointed ears atop his head.
Behind him swayed two foxtails, one pure white, the other pitch black.
He had chosen to reside at the Fushimi Inari Taisha temple in Kyoto. For twenty years, every corner of Japan had been searched — and yet, Ayumi remained out of reach.
On a quiet spring afternoon, he returned once again to the temple. Sitting on the cool wooden terrace, the scent of cherry blossoms caressed his nostrils.
"Tch, still nothing... Ugh, Ayumi, where are you hiding?" he muttered, frustration weighing heavy on his heart.
