Nick Fury narrowed his eyes as he looked at the file on Eric on his desk, then pulled another document from his desk drawer.
Flipping through the document, which only contained two tentative names, Nick Fury wrote 'Tentative' on Eric's file.
As a special unit under the International Security Council dedicated to handling various strange incidents, and also the world's largest intelligence organization,
S.H.I.E.L.D., also known as the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division, has its own sub-bases all over the world and over 100,000 highly trained agents distributed globally, monitoring strange events and people worldwide.
Although The McCoys did a lot to conceal Eric's true identity, he was discovered by S.H.I.E.L.D.'s outer space remote sensing station even before the spaceship landed. If the spaceship hadn't been so fast, it would have been shot down by the space weapons installed on satellites.
At first, upon discovering the suspected alien arrival on Earth, Nick Fury, having been involved in the 1995 alien incident, first thought to arrest him directly and imprison him in the special prison S.H.I.E.L.D. built for extraterrestrial visitors.
However, after seeing The McCoys carry out an infant from the suspected small escape pod, an infant who looked no different from a human except for a tail, Nick Fury changed his mind.
He wanted Eric to grow up on Earth and form a bond with Earth, or rather, with America. As long as The McCoys were controlled, Eric could be used by him.
Moreover, the existence of mutants on Earth could help him integrate better.
However, what he didn't know was that his plan could be said to have failed from the start. As a Saiyan, a race of warriors, he could develop cognition shortly after birth and know he was a Saiyan, let alone Eric, who had a changed soul.
"Hill, raise Agent Romanoff's file level to 7."
Nick Fury said to the cold and beautiful figure standing in front of his desk.
"And also, Bolivar Trask of Trask Industries, isn't he looking for a Level 3 mutant?
Accidentally leak Eric's information to him and let him test the strength of our 'Superboy' for us."
Hill nodded coldly, then turned and left.
"I hope he doesn't disappoint me."
—
New York, Trask Industries.
"Dong ~ dong ~ dong ~."
"Come in."
"Click," a middle-aged man in a white lab coat walked in, seeing the short Bolivar sitting at his desk, talking to someone unknown.
Although visually, a man only 1.3 meters tall sitting upright at a desk might look a bit comical, the man dared not show any disrespect. Many people had already proven the brutality of this small man.
Bolivar Trask, founder of Trask Industries, chief scientist, and mutant expert.
In his youth, while researching human DNA, he discovered the X-gene unique to mutants, which is also the origin of the famous X-Men's name. To prevent humanity from being replaced by the mutant race in the future, he founded the current Trask Industries, heavily promoting the mutant threat theory, wanting all humans to view mutants with hostility, and at the same time, massively capturing mutants for human experimentation.
It is rumored that the company recently proposed a plan called 'Sentinel'; once the plan succeeds, mutants will become history.
Bolivar, who was on the phone with his old subordinate Colonel Stryker, didn't know that his subordinate had thought so much in just a few seconds.
"Alexei, is there something you need me for?" Bolivar asked indifferently after finishing his call, seeing Alexei, who usually only sought him out to report on work.
"Doctor, our people just sent word that they found an isolated Level 3 mutant in Texas. Here is his related information." As he spoke, he placed the document he was holding in front of Bolivar.
"Oh, a Level 3 mutant, and alone, that's rare."
Hearing Alexei's words, Bolivar immediately became interested. Since the Golden Gate Bridge incident a few years ago, when Magneto's reputation soared and he established his own mutant nation overseas, many mutants went there admiringly, making the number of mutants in the outside world increasingly scarce, especially high-level mutants.
They had captured many mutants in recent years, but most were low-level, Level 1 and 2 mutants. After studying them for so long, they were no longer of much use; they urgently needed high-level mutants to break through technology.
Bolivar picked up the data in front of him, opened the cover, and looked at the photo of a boy named Eric McCoy, who appeared to be only eleven or twelve years old.
He then looked at the target's abilities: super speed, super strength, super endurance.
"Alexei, go inform the action team, arrange for two squads to go to Texas, and bring our target back, alive if possible."
"Yes, Doctor."
"Whew! Every time I see the Doctor, I feel a chill down my spine." Alexei, who came out of the office, let out a long breath and wiped away the non-existent cold sweat from his forehead.
"Alright, alright, I'd better go notify them quickly."
—
First Floor, Logistics and Security Department.
"Okay, mission accomplished."
Mohan Press, who had seen Alexei off, turned and went to the training ground.
"Alright, everyone, we have a mission."
The members, who were originally training individually, quickly gathered upon hearing there was a mission.
"This mission will be jointly executed by Squad 1 and Squad 2, and I will personally lead the team. Alright, go prepare, and try to arrive by tonight."
"Yes."
