Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Night Raid

Eric recalled that every time Ororo came to him, it was to get him to go to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, and although it always ended up going nowhere, she just wouldn't give up.

However, he also knew that Ororo meant well, and she was his only friend for so many years, so in the end, he just let her be. She could come and go, persuade all she wanted, but he wasn't going. He was afraid that if Professor X read his mind, he might think he was just a character in someone else's story, leading him to question life, break down, or even become brain dead. Such things weren't unheard of.

It was well known that in Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, Professor X became brain dead after reading Deadpool's mind and discovering he was just a comic book character.

However, speaking of Deadpool, he wondered if this universe even had a Deadpool, or if he had transformed yet.

"Alright, I get it. You should head back soon too; it's getting late." Seeing Old Butler still at his house so late, Eric urged him to go home, or else Xiao Chuck would complain to him again.

If he hadn't accidentally stumbled upon mental tree fruits for sale in the system today and eaten two of them (only 5 available, 1000 points each, the actual combat power increase is based on this book, this isn't the Dragon Ball universe, so the effects are different. Stop arguing; if it increased according to Dragon Ball's values, then what would be the fun?), training until now to control his suddenly surging power, he would have been resting already.

"Yes, Young Master. Oh, right, Young Master, here's your milk." Old Butler prepared the milk Eric drank every day, then bowed and turned to leave.

Eric picked up the milk on the table and chugged it down, then cleaned the glass and put it back in its place before heading straight upstairs to his bedroom.

"Mmm, after training, a shower, and then lying in bed, it feels so good." Eric, stripped down to just his boxer briefs, relaxed his body and mind on his soft, large bed.

"Let me see if there's any big news recently?" He picked up the newspaper he had brought from downstairs and casually flipped through it.

"Famous genius scientist, billionaire, playboy Tony Stark was seen yesterday with Maxim cover girl Raya Chloe (I just made up the name) leaving a hotel together, their behavior intimate."

"Famous genius scientist, arms dealer Tony Stark has reportedly finalized a $2 billion deal with the military yesterday, for a new type of weapon..."

Seeing that the newspaper was entirely filled with reports about Tony Stark, as if there was no other news in the world, Eric angrily threw the newspaper aside, muttering, "Damn it, that hateful rich jerk."

His good mood completely ruined, Eric immediately lost interest in reading the newspaper. He looked at the clock on the wall: "11:45 PM," and decided to go to sleep.

"Hmm, something's not right."

Just a few minutes after lying down, before he had fallen asleep, Eric suddenly felt something was off. The usually lively farm had become eerily quiet; he couldn't hear any cows mooing.

He quickly put on his nano-suit (mainly to avoid exposure) and his combat power detector, then looked in the direction of the farm.

Looking at the seventeen combat power readings on the detector, which clearly weren't from cows, most were 7, two or three were 8, and there was even one as high as 9. However, to him, with his current 41 combat power, they were all just a group of easily defeated weaklings.

DING! Immediate Mission: Bolivar Trask of Trask Industries, having heard that a lone Level 3 mutant appeared in Smallville, has dispatched two elite squads under his command to capture this mutant. Kill these invaders. Mission Reward: 340 points.

Hearing the alert, Eric thought, as expected, a mission was activated. At the same time, looking at the point reward on the mission panel, he speculated whether killing a normal person was worth 20 points. What about killing a super-powered individual? However, he wasn't very sure, mainly because the system had only activated two missions in total.

Meanwhile, the two squads, unaware that they had already been exposed, were slowly advancing towards the target house.

"Alright, check your gear, put on your gas masks, and prepare to attack." Mohan Press said to the two squads as they reached the front door on the first floor.

As private security for Trask Industries, they were highly skilled in capturing mutants, having dealt with mutants with all sorts of strange abilities. To capture these mutants alive, they were equipped with military-grade anesthetic smoke grenades. Such hard-to-obtain military supplies posed no difficulty for Trask Industries, which had long-standing cooperation with the military.

Furthermore, to better deal with mutants, the company's researchers had upgraded these smoke grenades, making a single small grenade powerful enough to anesthetize over 1000 people. Even if the target was an elephant, it wouldn't last more than three seconds.

After speaking, Mohan Press led the two squads directly and stealthily opened the door, rushing in and heading straight for Eric's bedroom on the second floor.

The soldiers cautiously and swiftly advanced to the target bedroom door. Mohan Press gave a tactical signal, and a soldier from the side suddenly kicked open the bedroom door, then pulled the pin of a smoke grenade. The smoke grenade, emitting white smoke, was immediately thrown inside.

"Go! Go! Go!"

After waiting 3 seconds and hearing no sound, Mohan Press immediately led the two squads rushing in.

The room was unlit, and the curtains were drawn to block the moonlight, making the dim bedroom completely dark. Although their guns were equipped with lights, they were useless in the thick smoke.

Mohan Press approached the bed, looked at the bulging human shape under the covers, and said with a relaxed smile, "I thought it would be harder. I even thought this little Level 3 mutant was really powerful." As he spoke, he reached out a hand to pull back the covers.

"What, it's a trick!" However, when he pulled back the covers, what appeared before him was a pillow and a few clothes arranged to form a human shape. He then realized they had been fooled.

The next moment, they saw the room suddenly brighten, as if the sun had appeared, causing everyone to be temporarily blinded.

"Ah, my eyes!"

Before they could recover, they heard a whistling sound of wind in their ears.

"Wolf Fang Wind Fist!"

The rapidly swinging fists carried whistling air, sounding like a pack of wolves howling. Before the soldiers could react, they were torn apart by the sharp claws of the nano-suit, instantly turning into fragments.

Mohan Press, barely able to see clearly, saw this scene, his pupils constricting. He raised his rifle, intending to spray bullets.

However, before he could aim, the next moment, a black claw directly pierced through his chest, and his heart was instantly crushed.

Mohan Press was brutally killed before he could even let out a scream, his body on the ground still twitching slightly due to nerve reactions.

"Ah, a demon!" Seeing their powerful captain, who had been laughing and joking with them just a second ago, now have his heart ripped out by the newcomer, all the remaining soldiers instantly broke down. They picked up their rifles and fired wildly, with a few even hitting their own comrades.

Looking at the crazed soldiers, Eric showed no mercy. Those who kill shall be killed. Since they chose this path, they should be prepared for this outcome.

The next moment, in the dark bedroom, only the sound of flesh being torn by claws and an occasional gunshot could be heard, before silence fell once again.

And the anesthetic smoke grenades, which they considered their ace weapon, had long been blocked by the face mask of Eric's nano-suit, rendering them completely useless.
