Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Investigation

The multiple men in black dispersed through the house.

"Hey! What do you think your doing!" Sabine yelled out.

"Sorry, ma'am but we're currently in a investigation right now, it is best to cooperate." Nina said calmly.

"You think we're a suspect?" Sabine rebelled.

"No, ma'am but it is best to take our chances." Nina said.

Bullshit.

These people has entered our house without consent, like goddamn ICE agents.

Sabine stepped closer to Nina.

"You'd think I will allow that?" Sabine whispered.

"Refusing to cooperate with an higher authority will land you in jail." Nina gave Sabine a dark cold eyes to hers.

Sabine leaned in closer, not even intimidated by Nina.

Giving her back the same cold stare.

Nina just stood there like she didn't even gave a damn.

"Move kid." A man twice as larger stood in front of me to the stairs.

"Nuh Uh." I widened my arms, not wanting to let him go upstairs.

He sighed then just walked despite me being right in front of him.

"Hey, I said your not allowed!" I said.

I grabbed his waist, trying to stop him but his sheer size and strength was nothing to mine and I was just dragged along the stairs.

We got to the second floor and the others followed and went through our rooms.

"AH!" I froze, not knowing what to do seeing all of them enter and search our rooms.

I immediately clasped one of the men in black, pulling him but I was the one got pulled.

I looked back to see my room door open.

Oh nah! No ones getting in mine.

I let go and headed towards my room to kick out the intruder.

When I got in, a man was rummaging through my clothes and drawers.

"Hey! I've spent years tidying this room!" I pointed a finger at the man.

But he looked indifferent.

"Hans, have some manners for this kid." I heard a woman's voice from behind.

I looked back to see Nina Kruger smiling.

"Yeah, listen to her dude." I said.

The man nodded and left my room only leaving me and Nina.

Wait did she just trapped me in my own room? Such cheap tactics.

I backed off of her, keeping my distance.

She scoffed and strode closer.

Ah shit! I'm dead, look at this old women about to shoot me like I'm some brown immigrant.

I'm not brown, I'm yellow! Well was.

She crouched down on one of her knees.

Kristi Noem, I'm not a dog, I swear!

She slowly rose her hand to my head.

I stayed frozen in fear, not knowing what she was gonna do next.

But I just accepted my unknown fate and close my eyes.

I felt my head being touched by a warm comforting hand.

Slowly stroking the top of my skull.

I opened my eyes to see what was happening.

Nina was petting my head.

She was Kristi Noem! She thinks I'm a dog!

"Scared you a bit, didn't I?" Nina with a soothing voice.

"I thought you would kill me." I said.

She started laughing at that answer.

"Sorry, kid. I'm a bit intimidating sometimes." She said.

"Your ok right?"

"Yeah, I'm not hurt or anything." I replied.

"Good, I will get in trouble if you did, your mother would have killed me if she found out." She whispered, with a hint of chuckle.

"You don't have prayer necklace?" She asked.

"What's that." I replied.

She moved her hand to the back of her neck a click is heard.

Then she brought out a necklace that she was previously wearing around her neck.

"What's that suppose to mean?" I said.

"The hanged man. The one who sacrificed himself for us all." She said.

The hanged man? Like the tarot card?

This was surprisingly detailed, is this what church members get? An exclusive necklace?

His left leg is tied by the necklace with his right leg is bent and over his left.

But the most surprisingly of all was that his hands wasn't tied to his back nor was it wide open to shape a upside down V.

But rather he clasped his hands to together and praying?

That was some nice symbolism.

"When you pray, make sure you hold the chain and leave the pendant dangling." She said.

Then she made me wear the necklace. Click.

"This would bring you good luck." She said.

I looked at the pendant and wondered.

"Why are you giving this to me?" I asked.

"It will help you guide and endure your own future." She said.

Oh sure buddy.

I continued looking at the pendant before looking at her.

"Thanks though." I said.

She smiled and got up and left my room.

I followed her behind downstairs to see the other men waiting for her.

"Took you long enough." One of them said.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, lets just go. We have a festival tomorrow!" She said.

She turned around to glance at us.

"I am very sorry for the disturbance we have cause, please have a good day." She removed her hat, placing to her chest and bowed before leaving.

Thud!

Sabine closed the door before gazing at me.

"So...mind explaining why they were here?" She said.

I gulped, sweat coming off my face.

"Uuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhh, I don't know"

She suddenly closed her distance to me and observed my facial expression.

"Something tells me, your lying." She said.

"What? Ppppffff Why would I do that, I'm a kid. Kids can't lie!" I replied.

She sighed, hands on face.

She then looked at me with dark eyes and started approaching me slowly.

"What are you doing?" I said.

Still dark, she cracked her knuckles.

"Wait please I didn't do anything!" I yelled.

AAAAAHHHHHH.
