"Let us stay in your room tonight," Aiden said gently.
Cassian hesitated. He wanted to say no to insist he was fine, that he didn't need babysitting. But the truth was, he didn't want to be alone. Not tonight. Not after Elliot. Not after the roses. Not after the house.
He nodded. "Okay."
He walked in and sank onto his bed, kicking off his shoes before lying down with a sigh. "Today was so tiring."
Aiden grinned and immediately flopped down beside him, stretching out like he owned the space. "Yep. It was."
"Hey that's cheating!" Leonel protested, hands on his hips. "You can't just claim the spot like that!"
Cassian let out a small, surprised laugh the first real one all day.
Aiden smirked, propping himself up on one elbow. "Too bad. You should've been faster."
Leonel rolled his eyes but didn't argue. He grabbed the oversized bean bag in the corner, dragged it near the bed, and plopped down with exaggerated defeat. "Whatever, Mr. Fast Pants."
