Chapter 1185: Father's Kindness and Daughter's Filial Piety (Double Votes Requested)
Recalling Jack's previous instructions, Megan concealedly wiped the corners of her eyes, her face distorted but quickly returning to normal before facing her father again. She calmly asked, "What do you want that for?"
"Of course, to hide it. If the FBI finds this list, they'll use it as evidence to charge you with three counts of murder, and you'll spend the rest of your life in federal prison,"
Andrew Kane argued confidently, his voice sanctimonious, "I'm doing this for your own good.
" "Really?" Megan's lips curled up in a mocking smile. She reached for her small purse and pulled out her phone.
"It contains information on all my clients, including you, of course. I bought it from Catherine Vera with the money you gave me, and now there are a few new names.
You'll find photos, the preferences of those men, and the secrets they've told me—everything."
Although he noticed something off about his daughter's tone, Andrew, overjoyed, didn't care and reached out to take it.
"Wait."
Megan nimbly turned around and dodged, going around to the other side of the coffee table, facing him again, "Dad, are you really here for me?"
Andrew was stunned where he was, the expression on his face had become a little ugly, he forced a smile again, "What are you talking about, honey, of course I'm here for you."
"Really?" Megan put the phone on the table and picked up the two glasses of wine that had been poured a long time ago, "I can't remember how long it has been since we sat down and had a drink, can you fulfill this little wish of mine?"
"What are you talking about?" Andrew's smile froze on his face, he glanced at the two glasses of wine with some uneasiness and said perfunctorily, "The FBI may be here at any time, wait until I bail you out of jail, we have plenty of time to sit down and drink slowly." "
I know what you're worried about." Megan mixed the two glasses of wine back and forth, the smile on her face became more and more desolate, tears streaming down her cheeks, "This is my last wish, don't you want to fulfill it?"
Seeing her drink one of the glasses in one gulp, Andrew subconsciously reached out his hand, but retracted it as if he had been electrocuted the moment it touched the wall of the glass, watching his daughter fall on the sofa.
The wine glass fell silently onto the thick carpet, spilling a vibrant crimson, blinding like blood.
"Daddy, don't leave me," Megan pleaded. Andrew seemed to reach out again, but then abruptly pulled back. Gritting his teeth, he grabbed the phone from the table and rushed out.
Behind him, Megan's eyes flashed with determination. She struggled to her feet, pulled a small, women's pistol from her purse, and pointed it at her father's back.
"Megan, stop!" A figure suddenly leaped from the bathroom.
"Bang!" Megan's arm was lifted high, and the bullet pierced the ceiling.
Andrew, who had already rushed to the door, shuddered and froze. Almost instantly, the door was kicked open, and Clay and Aubrey burst in with guns drawn.
"Don't move! You're under arrest! Andrew Kane!"
"You...you!"
Andrew Kane turned back to his daughter on the sofa in disbelief, only to see the figure scoop Megan up and rush into the bathroom.
Jiejie followed in and saw the fallen wine glass on the carpet. She looked at the dumbfounded Andrew in disbelief, "You actually watched her drink the poisoned wine like that!"
"I don't know what's in the wine," the old man mumbled, his lips trembling in a weak defense.
Hannah, behind the others, rushed into the bathroom and helped Megan. Jack, freeing his hands, removed the shower head, unscrewed the showerhead, and forcefully yanked off the outer, universal hose, revealing the white hose inside.
He forced the hose down Megan's throat and turned on the faucet. While staving off the girl's struggles, Jack shouted over his shoulder, "Call 911 and tell them the patient is most likely suffering from TETS poisoning."
He felt Megan's struggles weaken before he pulled the hose out, and a fountain of fluid erupted from her mouth.
"Is she okay?" Hannah asked worriedly.
"She's fine. This poison doesn't take effect quickly. Just wash her stomach."
Jack waited until Megan had vomited enough, until her throat, scratching with his fingers, only produced dry heaves. Then, without mercy, he thrust the hose down her throat again.
This was repeated several times, and by the time the paramedics arrived, Megan, though nearly dead, was out of danger.
Meanwhile, the hotel was surrounded by reporters who had "heard the news." As Andrew Kane was escorted into the police car, flashbulbs flashed non-stop, illuminating the surroundings.
Attorney General Patrick Jackson, who had also heard the news, had a rather indescribable expression on his face. "Agent Tawalle, I remember I once told you to keep a low profile until the truth is known."
Jack handed Megan's phone to him. "But now the truth is known. It contains all the evidence you seek. We've also filmed everything that just happened, and we'll give you a copy later."
The prosecutor's expression changed slightly, his grip on the phone tightening slightly, his voice trembling. "Is it what I thought it was?"
Jack gripped the other half of the phone tightly, showing no sign of letting go. "Yes, it's all in there, but I promised Megan Kane that everything in there would be made public."
Seeing the other's hesitation, Jack narrowed his eyes slightly. "That's Megan's only condition for handing over this evidence. She didn't even offer a misdemeanor charge," he emphasized.
Attorney General Jackson hesitated for a moment, then nodded firmly. "I understand. Leave it to me."
Taking the "evidence" from Jack, the cheerful prosecutor smiled mysteriously. "But I believe even then, the jury won't give that poor girl too much trouble, will they?"
Jack smiled back. "Unless the judge can assemble a jury composed entirely of the upper echelons of power, devoid of any bias."
Attorney General Jackson winked at him, as if he'd heard something funny. "Do you think that's possible? Gather all the elite in Dallas into one room?"
This prosecutor seemed to understand. Jack was quite surprised, and the two of them burst into laughter.
"Jack?" Jiejie, who had hurried over, unexpectedly broke the conspiratorial atmosphere.
She looked at the two people who were still laughing in this hiding place with a puzzled look on her face, and said in an ambiguous tone, "Meghan doesn't want to get in the ambulance. She said she would have to stay with her the whole time."
