Chapter 242 - Chapter 1083: No one knows to pass the buck better than jack

"Hey, you didn't beat him to death, did you?" Jiang Zhentai saw Zhang Mingjun's head nearly drooping to the ground, and was about to step forward to check, but Lin Zheling got there first.

"How could that be? I just gave him a light blow," Ma Xidao said, flashing his sandbag-sized fist, a terrifying sight.

Lin Zheling flipped Zhang Mingjun's eyelids, confirming he was only unconscious, and then breathed a sigh of relief. He handcuffed one of his hands to his own, then reached into his pocket and pulled out a cell phone and the electronic bank key containing the billion-dollar bank account.

Jiang Zhentai took the key, shook it in his hand, and sighed, "That's a billion dollars!" and was about to hand it to Jack.

Jack waved his hand away, genuinely uninterested. Instead, he took Zhang Mingjun's phone, which was more important; it might lead him to those dangerous VX accounts.

Outside, sirens blared relentlessly, and the South Korean police were poised to storm in at any moment. Without further ado, Jack pulled out a small box and handed it to Lin Zheling, containing the previously agreed-upon eavesdropping device.

"Thank you, but I'm sorry, Brother Zhentai," Lin Zheling's gratitude surged from the bottom of his heart.

"I'm used to it. Whether I get promoted or not doesn't matter. Just not getting fired is great," Jiang Zhentai patted him on the shoulder nonchalantly. "Be careful."

Zhang Mingjun showed up with only a few of his men, and the way he was dispatched so swiftly felt unsettling.

Based on Jack's earlier analysis, everyone suspected this guy had some hidden agenda, and was definitely targeting the delegation arriving tomorrow. So, instead of euphoria over the capture of the culprit, everyone seemed preoccupied. The

South Korean police, arriving late as usual, surrounded the nightclub, hastily setting up a cordon around the bodies strewn across the penthouse suite. Over a thousand men and women were partying on the first and second floors, enough to keep the hard-pressed officers busy all night.

The gigolo from the NIS (South Korea's National Intelligence Service) who had been spying on Kang Jin-tae's family appeared alongside Kang Jin-tae's superior and launched into a barrage of insults, a tinge of personal revenge.

Ma Xidao had been assigned as an FBI liaison, and as the most skilled double-flowered red stick in the Guangsuo Team, he hadn't faced any difficulty.

The gigolo might have had some thoughts, but after noticing Ma's clenched fists, he decided to continue his assault on Kang Jin-tae.

"What a shame! We caused such a big mess, and now the enemy has us. He's a wanted terrorist by the FBI, and they just took him away from the north?"

The gigolo's voice rose sharply upon seeing someone appear, the sarcastic tone tangible from dozens of meters away.

Jack had already arranged for Kang Jin-tae's wife and daughter to be taken to a hotel for protection, and had just gone to the parking lot to reunite with Park Min-yong and Stanley.

Just as he was walking back, he heard someone making sarcastic remarks about him. A smile suddenly spread across his face. "You could notify your superiors immediately and have the American ambassador go to the Blue House and kneel before the Taegeuk flag to apologize. Isn't that how it's played out in your TV dramas?"

The female NIS agent watching the scene almost burst out laughing, quickly covering her mouth and turning away.

"I thought you'd be more concerned about the whereabouts of Jang Myeong-jun's men. They're capable of orchestrating a terrorist attack in Manhattan,"

Jack said to Jiang Zhentai's superior, a bespectacled middle-aged man, without even looking at the pretty boy.

"Yes, yes, we're tracking them. They're a dangerous group." The middle-aged man clearly wanted to protect his subordinate, having been pressured by the NIS to chide him.

Seeing that the FBI had sided with Jiang Zhentai, he immediately changed the subject.

The NIS's pretty boy snorted coldly at this. "We've already discovered traces of Jang Myeong-jun's men at Pyeongtaek Port. They're likely trying to smuggle themselves across the border to Dongda.

The National Intelligence Service is already deploying an operation. I'll be there soon to personally oversee it. We'll definitely apprehend those thugs. Don't worry about these minor matters, FBI. The NIS will handle the final work." "

Oh? Then you must be careful. According to the intelligence we just received, Jang Myeong-jun's men are suspected of possessing at least one kilogram of weapons-grade VX. Be extremely careful,"

  Jack kindly offered.

Pyeongtaek Port is one of South Korea's three designated trading ports for Dongda, so the NIS's assessment is unsurprising, but it's clearly a smokescreen from Jang Myeong-jun's men.

They do have access to several established drug smuggling routes, but if they had any long-standing business dealings with Dongda, they probably wouldn't have been involved in these recent incidents.

"VVX?" Hearing the abbreviation, the pretty boy suddenly became stammering. "That kind of dangerous chemical weapon? Are you kidding?"

"Shh, keep your voice down." Jack raised an index finger to his lips, gesturing towards the crowd of reporters outside the cordon.

"This is all thanks to the drug factory that Officer Jiang Zhentai found earlier. Our experts accidentally discovered the precursor materials for VX inside. I've just confirmed it and I'm here to inform you.

Since the NIS is willing to take over, the official materials will be submitted later. I should also pack up and return to the United States. I wish you all the best."

After saying this, Jack no longer paid attention to the stunned pretty boy and called Ma Xidao and Jiang Zhentai to leave the scene together.

"

Ashiba! I expected this, but that NIS bastard's face is truly unpleasant."

Jiang Zhentai, walking last, glanced around, feeling as if someone was missing. After Lin Zheling had taken Zhang Mingjun away in front of the Korean police, the pretty foreign woman who had been following Jack had suddenly vanished.

A Lexus GX pulled up in front of the three of them. Anna leaned out the window and pouted at Jack, "I'm hungry. I want some beef hot pot."

Although a Japanese car, the Lexus GX's tall stature pleased Ma Xidao, allowing him to sit comfortably in the back seat.

However, when he lifted a travel bag tossed in the back seat, the strange feel gave him a slight pause.

"What are you waiting for?" Jiang Zhentai, following behind, urged.

"Hmm," Ma Xidao said, getting in without a word and placing the black travel bag at his feet.

Jack, sitting in the passenger seat, noticed this and, after closing the car door, casually asked, "Anna, did you bring any extra gear?"

He still couldn't understand how Anna managed to pull a stun grenade out of that palm-sized handbag, having seen her pull out a makeup mirror and lipstick before.

"There's $5 million in there. I just found it," Anna replied nonchalantly.

  (End of chapaaaa)
