Chapter 1 - The Foundation of Fiction

Fiction:literature in the form of prose that describes imaginary events and people.

Fiction is one of, if not the greatest, things humanity has ever created, and it probably wasn't even created by humanity. Anyone and anything with a mind can create an imaginary world, imaginary characters, and imaginary scenarios. They are not real, and that's the beauty; they are not held down by the laws of reality. Anything can be logical or illogical; it doesn't matter. With fiction, you can create anything; in the context of fiction, you are God. Don't listen to others who say what you can and cannot create with fiction, while fiction can influence reality, and fiction can be problematic when used "incorrectly," as they say. But that last one was a lie; problematic is in the eye of the beholder, so who's to say what's problematic and what is not? "Good fiction" is fiction that one can enjoy; then it can be considered good, since at least someone or something enjoys it. Fiction is also an escape, to leave reality and to bask in the aesthetic of another world of your choosing, one where you can be free to be your true self. Fiction is also eternal, as long as one can create anything and/or anyone imaginary, fiction will always be here. Fiction is also symbolic; some stories hit close to home about people's highest highs and lowest of lows. Fiction does not discriminate; it is open to all things, liberated from influence, not just by reality's laws, but by the noise of others, but a lot of people don't get that. Fiction is like a void, and you, you are omnipotent in said void; you can do anything in said void, nothing is bounding you in said void other than yourself. Fiction can also be told in many ways, from the visual art of animation and film to the sounds of audiobooks and music. Overall, fiction is a wonderful thing, a pearl in the sea of endless concepts, but people do not see that... and it aggravates me...
