Chapter 21 - Chapter Twenty One: The war of survival.

He walked away and so did Alara, leaving behind a promise that felt fragile, yet bound by two souls deeply in love.

While in the castle, The King was frantically longing for his dear daughter that he thought alara is...

But for someone to know that they're loved, needs to be protected and alara only felt safe when she was away from the one who think she's loved.

Elsewhere, the old master led Alara out of Abrum's palace through a hidden passage. For the last time, she looked back at the door she was leaving behind. In doing so, she left a piece of her heart behind as well, and for a while, she was incomplete.

Abrum felt a sharp distant crackling in the barrier in front of him, his eyes refused to flinch, the shattered pieces of the glass are now everywhere around the gateway of the palace.

Everything is falling apart.

Someone from behind shook alara's shoulder. When she looked back — the old master was standing with one arm still on alara's shoulder and holding some fruits from the other.

"Deep thoughts?" The old master murmured in a faint, weary tone.

"I can't decide, if they are deep or if it's me who's drowning in it" Alara muttered.

"here" the old master said handing her a bunch of green, plump grapes.

"I wonder if he's out of danger now" the old master's voice come slow, interrupted by the soft crush of grapes.

Alara, who's thoughts not even once shift from him. Those plush grapes become rock hard for her to swallow.

She couldn't fall asleep not even for a moment.

The night shifts.

An uneasy silence had fall upon the palace

but the warmth of morning did nothing to erase what had happened just hours ago.

Darkness spread across the sky, an unseen pull held the wind. The forest itself lost its grip, at the distance wild creatures howling were heard vividly echoing through the forest.

Abrum step on the crackling leaves shattering the heavy silence of the forest.

He stopped without a warning, but the sounds didn't.

He could sense a presence behind him.

"you won't get anything from me" Abrum said, not looking back.

king sentinels were standing inches apart.

"where's the princess?" The wizard said in a deep, husky voice.

"You think, I would serve her to you?" Abrum said. "she is long gone".

The smirky, eerie smile fades away from the wizards face.

"Search the whole thing" The wizard command the sentinels.

The wizard murmured something under his breath and pulled his hands in a circular motion, forming a ball of violet lightning. Then, with a sudden force, he thrust both hands toward Abrum.

His body lost control of itself, he flew away by that sudden ball of darkness that struck him.

He could feel his entire body tremble.

He was weak at that very moment.

The sentinels returned empty hands,

The wizard screams out of fury.

"She was here, I can't be mistaken" said the wizard.

The wizard himself rushed inside the palace, from inside it felt a war happened here, he explores the whole place and found something meant to be hidden.

since abrum's ability weakened, all the things are now free from his grip.

THERE IT WAS!

The hidden door, which they could now see.

It leads them into the forest,

"The princess's footprints"

the wizard said.

He gasped.

The words uttered.

"EDIRIC"...
