Chapter: 2 Problem?
Yu Xiaogang's words grew heavier and heavier, his gaze like a knife. He suddenly waved his hand and shouted angrily, "Get out! I don't want to see you again! Since you think you're so clever, go Cultivate on your own! Don't expect me to guide you even a single word more! I, Yu Xiaogang, never force anyone to be my disciple, especially not an arrogant and disrespectful brat like you!"
Upon hearing this, Tang Chuan's expression remained calm, without the slightest hint of panic.
He looked at the furious Yu Xiaogang before him, a faint, sarcastic curve appearing at the corner of his mouth, as if he had long anticipated all of this.
Seeing this, Tang San's expression changed slightly. He took a step forward, about to say something, but then hesitated and stopped.
"Teacher, my brother, he's just—"
"Shut up!" Yu Xiaogang interrupted sharply, saying mercilessly, "Since he keeps saying I'm wrong, then let him Cultivate on his own! Every step he takes from now on has nothing to do with me, Yu Xiaogang!"
"If it weren't for the fact that he's your brother, how could I have guided him in Cultivating his Spirit? Now he actually dares to publicly question my Spirit theory; he's simply an ungrateful wretch!"
Tang Chuan looked at Tang San's complex expression, yet felt no resentment in his heart. He simply patted Tang San's shoulder gently, his tone calm and gentle as he said, "Tang San, think carefully about what I said today."
"If the choice was wrong from the start, then every step taken afterward will inevitably be wrong."
With that, he walked away without looking back, his figure, tall and resolute, stretched long in the afternoon sun. The office door slammed shut with a bang, cutting off the outside noise.
A moment later, peace returned to the office, but the air remained heavy and oppressive.
Yu Xiaogang stood in place, his face gloomy, his brows tightly furrowed. He took a deep breath and slowly sat back in his chair, seemingly trying to calm his emotions.
Tang San stood to the side, his eyes complex. He always felt that what Tang Chuan had just said seemed to make sense; Blue Silver Grass should indeed follow the life system.
After a moment of silence, Yu Xiaogang suddenly said in a low voice, "Tang San, you don't need to be shaken by what just happened, nor do you need to pay too much attention to your brother's words."
Hearing this, Tang San turned his head, looking at Yu Xiaogang with some hesitation.
Yu Xiaogang's gaze was deep, and his tone had returned to his usual firm and steady cadence:
"What he just said was complete nonsense."
"Blue Silver Grass is a waste Spirit; this is the consensus of the entire Spirit Master's world. To Break this conclusion, one must find a new path. I researched the characteristics of Blue Silver Grass for over ten years before proposing the control system path; it wasn't just idle talk or random conjecture."
"Your brother says that Blue Silver Grass can naturally Bind, so adding a Binding Spirit Ability is redundant? Absurd! The meaning of a Spirit Ability is to strengthen and expand. Binding is like a vine, and the Spirit Ability is what gives this vine the strength of steel and the attack power of thorns!"
"As for his so-called life system, just treat it as a joke. If Blue Silver Grass were to follow the life system, how would it attack? His so-called views are just an attempt to be unconventional; they sound clever, but in reality, they have no feasibility whatsoever!"
Yu Xiaogang spoke faster and faster, his tone carrying a subtle, insidious hint of persuasion.
"Researching Spirit theory is inherently something that requires boundless imagination and an unconventional approach. If everyone followed common sense, what kind of powerhouses would be born in this World? I've gotten to where I am today by constantly breaking conventions and proposing new paths!"
"I guided you towards the control system because I saw the potential in Blue Silver Grass—its flexibility, extensibility, toxicity, and Binding. Every characteristic points to one direction: a top-tier controller!"
"Tang Chuan doesn't understand. He has no spirit ring, no practical combat experience, and he hasn't truly delved into Spirit theory. He's merely read a few books and thinks he understands everything."
By the end of Yu Xiaogang's speech, his tone had returned to his usual rational and authoritative manner.
Tang San stood to the side, his eyes subtly shifting, seemingly being slowly drawn back into Yu Xiaogang's Spirit theory system, word by word.
Although he didn't answer immediately, a battle of conscience had already begun in Tang San's heart.
Seeing Tang San's silence, Yu Xiaogang's tone softened, and some of his anger subsided.
He stood up, clasped his hands behind his back, and looked out at the dimming light outside the window, saying faintly, "Alright, let's end today's matters here."
"You have Innate full spirit power at rank ten. Tomorrow morning, I will take you to the Soul Hunting Forest to obtain your first spirit ring."
"This spirit ring will lay the foundation for your path as a control system Spirit Master."
Upon hearing this, a hint of hesitation flashed in Tang San's eyes.
He couldn't help but recall his brother Tang Chuan's earlier words:
The essence of Blue Silver Grass is life, not control. If what his brother said was true, would this first spirit ring lead his Spirit down the wrong path? Would it embed an irreversible deviation?
Seeing the certainty in Yu Xiaogang's eyes, Tang San wavered. The former was his teacher, and he had seen that he had twin spirits just by looking at a Spirit certification; how could he be wrong?
In contrast, his brother was just a child of a few years old who had only recently started reading books on Spirit theory. Everything he had said earlier was merely theoretical.
After a moment of silence, Tang San lowered his head and nodded gently: "Teacher, I understand."
Seeing this, Yu Xiaogang's expression softened slightly. He waved his hand and said, "Go, go back and pack a few things. Tomorrow morning, meet at the Academy's south gate at Chen Shi."
Tang San hummed in acknowledgment and turned to leave the office.
The sun gradually set, and twilight silently spread between the Academy's high walls.
After leaving the office, Tang Chuan did not leave immediately. Instead, he sat down behind the secluded teaching building, leaning against the mottled blue brick wall, silent.
The air still carried the scent of dust baked by the afternoon sun. He quietly raised his right hand, and in his palm, Blue Silver Grass slowly unfurled, swaying gently in the evening breeze.
It was like a weak but unyielding vine of fate.
"It's a pity I only have one Spirit, Blue Silver Grass."
Muttering softly, a faint hint of disappointment flashed in Tang Chuan's eyes.
As a Transmigrator, Tang Chuan had originally thought he could be like Tang San, possessing twin spirits, the Clear Sky Hammer in his left hand and Blue Silver Grass in his right, sweeping across the Douluo Continent and achieving the path of a God King.
But reality dealt him a harsh blow: he had only inherited his mother's Spirit—Blue Silver Grass! Or rather, Blue Silver Emperor!
On the Douluo Continent, if both parents' Spirits were of comparable quality, there was a certain chance for a child to have twin spirits. Similarly, it was also possible to randomly inherit only one parent's Spirit.
Tang Chuan was clearly the latter.
Gazing at the Blue Silver Grass in his hand, Tang Chuan's expression gradually became solemn, and he murmured to himself, "Before Blue Silver Grass Awakens into Blue Silver Emperor, all its abilities are extremely weak, and its attack power is almost zero."
"If it were forced to follow the life system, Blue Silver Grass's vitality might become extremely tenacious, capable of self-recovery, regeneration, and healing others, but it would also have no attack power whatsoever."
"This would be like a self-healing sandbag, hit a hundred times, not dying, but completely unable to fight back."
"How can Blue Silver Grass follow the life system and also possess attack power?"
This was the problem Tang Chuan currently faced!
