Chapter 62 - Theater

Adam: They are about to start, but I still don't get it. This game makes no sense.

If anyone uses 0 then no one will lose any sangius. Playing 1 means you can only win against 0, but you gain no advantage with it. The best you can get with it is a tie if the other would choose the same, so there is no reason any would choose 1. Then with this 2 makes no sense to choose as well. The other simply won't choose 1 because it has no benefit, so choosing two is at max a tie you can get with it. 3 is the strongest and there is nothing that wouldn't allow you to spam it. The only problem with it is that both players must choose 3 repeatedly. But then the game will never end.

Adam: Uugh! Is this game about who's giving up earlier or what?

Greg: Haha! Yeah it's indeed weird, but despite all that, I have a feeling this game will be interesting as well.

Adam: I don't know... If you think then maybe.

-----------------------------------------------

Referee No.1: Are you two ready? The game is about to start! It's 4PM in 3... 2... 1... START!

Oli: Okay. Don't waste any time. This is a pretty straight forward game... Hey Todor, are you gonna do something?

Todor: ...

Oli: My gosh just say something!

Todor: Why would I?

Oli: Huh- huhuhu! You think I will just lose myself that easily?

Todor: I do, actually.

Oli: Don't think I can't read you like I can anyone else! You only want me to bring out my other side! I won't let you!

Todor: Doesn't matter if you want it or not, I will succeed in it.

Oli: And anyway! The time is going to run out! Do something or you will lose! Huhuhu! I mean that's not a problem for me!

Referee No.1: 10 seconds left of the 1st round!

Todor: You sure about that? It's not like I'm not going to play a number.

Todor with 7 seconds left chooses a number

Oli: Finally!

Referee No.1: We have got the results of the 1st round!

Chosen numbers:

Oli: 3

Todor: 1

Winner: Oli

Todor loses: 1 Sanguis

Oli: 9 Sanguis

Todor: 8 Sanguis

Referee No.1: The 2nd round starts now!

Oli: WHAT!?

Todor: Is something wrong? You got lucky.

Oli: No! NO! You knew I will choose 3! You knew you will get into a disadvantage!

Todor: Wait, what are you talking about?

Oli: YOU! WHY!? You want to play against my other personality so much you deliberately made yourself lose 1 sanguis! YOU ARE THE CRAZY ONE HERE!

Todor: Your crazy side is smarter than you though, am I right? You have the best chances if you let it take over.

Oli: I... Don't need him. I will end your journey like this! Here and now!

Todor: Really? But you are already losing.

Oli: Stop the cap! I'm not going to walk into your trap!

Todor: I don't have a trap.

Oli: You are lying, I don't know how, but you want to gain an advantage while playing against my alter ego. I'm not going to let you!

Oli searches in his pocket and pulls out a pair of ear plugs

Todor: Wait, what is that?

Oli: If I can't hear you bullshit, then you can't get even the chance to bring the insane me out of me!

Places it into his ears

Oli: Hahaha! I can't hear a thing like this!

Todor: . . .

- You can read from the lips though? -

Oli: HEAY! DON'T PISS ME OFF!

Todor: So as I thought, you can.

Oli turns away, to the TV that always shows the results

Oli: Alright, but like this, I can't even see you. There is no way you can tell me anything like this!

Referee No.1: 10 seconds left!

Todor: Interesting. Soon, I will see that side of you. You lost this battle.

Referee No.1: We have got the results of the 2nd round!

Chosen numbers:

Oli: 3

Todor: 1

Winner: Oli

Todor loses: 1 Sanguis

Oli: 9 Sanguis

Todor: 7 Sanguis

Referee No.1: The 3rd round starts now!

Oli: What..... Why? A- another... point disadvantage taken? AAGH! NOO! THIS CANNOT HAPPEN!

Oli drops to his knees, then soon he goes silent.

Todor: There he is.

Oli takes the plugs out of his ear and slowly stands up, looking at Todor.

Oli: Good to see you again, Todor.

Todor: Good to see you too. Can I ask where your usual behaviour is?

Oli: So you don't even take in consideration that it's still the sane me?

Todor: Your aura changed. You are the alter ego.

Oli: Right, hehe. Like there is no way you wouldn't notice right? But now I'm finally here, I'm playing against perfection... and now I'm going to win. You just made your biggest mistake by "summoning" me.

Todor: You still didn't answer me about your demeanor.

Oli: Oh, you know I like to act crazy, but in reality I'm actually more sane than my "sane" half. But... I think you noticed it the first time, right?

Todor: Not just that. A lot of times when you seemed to be in a helpless situation, like in Unique Guess. You actually were in your "genius" alter ego, just like now. And somehow you knew Adam would save you, right?

Oli: Not gonna lie, Greg's plan helped me a lot, though it's not like it was not me in the first place making sure that I had to be the "protected" one.

Todor: Greg's plan? What are you talking about?

Oli: Oh right! You don't know about it! It went right through you. When he said he lost on purpose in Point Poker, he meant it! And his plan is absolute genius! Really, he is a better planner than you, Todor. I can assure you that.

Todor: Sure, whatever you say.

Oli: Maybe it is hurting your perfectionist ego? I'm so sorry.

Todor: Unfortunately for you, but I don't care.

--------------------------------------------------------

Greg: What Oli is saying... Is it actually true?

Adam: There is absolutely no way he knew it all along! Right? He would have literally predicted everything perfectly! Or, am I wrong?

Greg: I don't know. What I'm thinking about... He was acting all the time? Even while we were playing Joker's Gambit? Did he notice that... I was losing on purpose?

Adam: But wait, when he read the letter-

Greg: Maybe that was an act as well? Who Oli really is and... Why have I never heard about him before?
