Soft lights filtered through the living room window. Alex sat on the sofa, holding his phone to his ear. He could hear his mother's voice, tinged with both excitement and nervousness.
"Alex… there's a letter from the recipient of Ethan's donated heart," she said, her voice slightly trembling.
His heart raced. "Yes, Mom… did they write anything? Why do they want to meet me?"
His mother sighed. "No, dear. They didn't leave any details. They only mentioned their name… Ploy Areeya."
Alex went silent for a moment. Ploy Areeya… a name he had never heard before, yet it stirred a strange sense of familiarity within him. He nodded softly.
"And Mom… what is she studying?" he asked.
"She said she's at the same university as you. You're in the Faculty of Law, right? She's studying Civil Engineering."
His mother's words sparked a flicker of hope in Alex's heart. It felt as if a secret was waiting for him to uncover it. He put down the phone, sitting quietly, staring out the window. The rain outside made the world seem calm, yet his heart raced uncontrollably.
"Tomorrow… I have to meet her," he whispered to himself.
