Chapter 4
As Peter was getting ready to leave when he saw Olivia leaving and going towards the elevator. She still looked really scared from the whole ordeal on the 16th Floor. "Hey, you wanna go to that pizza place that we talked about before? You know, the one on 6th Avenue, Gold Experience Pizza?" he said, trying to sound supportive. "Yeah, I'd like that," she said, almost whispering. It did look like she was at least a bit happier than before with the idea of food in her head.
When they got to the lobby they checked out with Mike. Before Peter left with Olivia, Mike tapped him on the shoulder. "I thought you weren't bringing anyone to the party?" he said suggestively. "Oh shut up man, she's just having a rough day," Peter said, annoyed at the fact that Mike was talking like that about him. "Really? Miss Sunshine & Rainbows?" Mike said in the same joking manner as Peter used with him. "Hey, look, I just wanted to warn you that she's a bit weird, Ya know? The kind of gal who can start rambling on about anything?" "I already told you this isn't a date," Peter said again. Annoyed at Mike's pestering. "Hey, are you done checking out yet?" Olivia said after noticing that Peter was still talking with Mike.
When they got outside they caught a cab and went to 6th Avenue. The city was big, like any other city but this one was different. The place looked more like a jungle. Every building had at least some kind of greenery. The city was trying to make themselves more healthy in a way. Most people had their own medical supplies due to the plants that they grew so not many people went to hospitals unless it was really necessary. The place looked nice in the day but looked almost like a ghost town at night. Like the plants were ghosts trying to drag the city into a massive grave. When they arrived at the restaurant they sat down and ordered, Peter asked for Requiem Pizza and Olvia asked for Sticky Finger Mozzarella Sticks. They both asked for the same drink which was a Moody Blues. "Are you ordering one because you've got a case of the blues?" Peter said jokingly. "I should be the one asking that, Mr. Mopy," she said, trying to be funny but still feeling down.
"I'm sorry for not turning off the engine in time, it was my responsibility." "Nah, you're good." "What? You're not affected by this at all?" "No, it's just that it's not your fault. Actually it should be Alex's fault for making a crappy version of the engine. Plus, how would you know something like this was going to happen? You couldn't have." he said, assuring her. "Thanks. That really helped," she said, with a sniffle. After finishing the meal, they paid the bill and left the restaurant. "Thanks for the food. It was good." "Don't mention it." he said.
The two of them felt a lot more cheered up than before. Olivia walked home since she lived on 6th Avenue and Peter got in a cab. The city looked especially creepy that night from the decrease in light as most people were trying to make the city a lot more eco-friendly. As Peter was in the cab with his music on, they passed a store with a person in front of it. It was the same stranger from the office! Peter tried getting a better look but saw nothing until he turned around and saw the stranger seated inside of the cab. He was about to scream but the stranger put his finger up to his lips and whispered "Shuuuuuush. Just checking on you. Mind showing me your right arm?". Peter, seeing nothing else to do except do what the stranger said, he showed the stranger his right arm. "Good, you're making progress, a bit fast but still good." the stranger said with a bit of excitement in his whisper. He then disappeared as if he wasn't even there. Then the cab driver yelled "Hey, where's my money!? You really want to make me your enemy!? Ya bozo!". Peter quickly gave the cab driver his money and got out. "What does the guy mean by progress? Is there supposed to be something happening with my arm and that rock thing!?" Peter thought while walking toward the apartment.
As he was making his way to his door he was stopped by Ms. Cherry. "Oh, Love! Could you please help me with my recliner?" she said tiredly. "Yeah, of course!" he said, remembering that he was going to help her with her recliner. When he finished doing that Ms. Cherry stopped him again. "Why were you out for so long? I was getting worried! You weren't on the bus today. Where were you anyway?" she questioned worryingly. "Don't worry. I was just out with a friend,"
"Sure, it always starts as a friend," she said under her breath.
"Well you have a good night, Ms. Cherry!" exclaimed Peter.
When Peter entered his apartment, it looked the same as it did before with the LEGO models on the top shelf and the rest of the books beneath. The few paintings that he had were still on the wall and the kitchen had dishes like always. He decided to just take a shower and go to sleep. But as he was making his way towards the bathroom, a great wave of dizziness came upon him. He was sweating all over and his head felt like it was being ripped open by a crowbar. His body felt weak until he finally collapsed to the floor and the world went black once again.
