"Nothing that might interest you" Edward grinned before he punched the marine out of the way, sending his crashing into the wall of a building.
The others hurriedly raised their guns to shoot but one swing from Edwards halberd was enough to send them flying.
"Come, you guys" Edward called out to Roger's group after he cleared the path before running up ahead.
Naruto, Roger and Rayleigh didn't even hesitate before they ran after Edward.
"What the hell was that Edward?!" Naruto frowned as soon as he caught up to him. He felt like Edward had rushed things should have allowed them to think things through. "You might have cleared the path but now the marines will know where we are?"
"It was only a matter of time before the marine's caught us anyway. Or do you think you can avoid a whole fleet when they are deliberately searching for you?" Edward asked. He felt like Naruto was underestimating the power of the marines. There was no way they could sneak their way around the marines. If so then what about when they got to the port where their ships were docked, then what?
Rayleigh and Roger also seemed to agree with Edward's logic.
"Edward is right, Naruto. It's better to cause trouble now than later" Rayleigh stated as he ran along side Naruto. He had his hand on the hilt of his sword in case anyone tried to jump him. He was certain that last attack would have attracted the attention of the soldiers close by.
"Gahahahaha. Finally some action!" Roger shouted excitedly as he ran ahead of the group causing Rayleigh and Naruto to sigh.
There he goes again.

A lone marine was patrolling the cold empty street of drum kingdom, because of the how huge the island was the marines could only patrol on group of two and three, unfortunately his partner went on a bathroom break leaving only him to patrol the street. Currently the citizen were quarantined in their houses to avoid being missed up with the pirates. Even though the Drum kingdom soldiers were helping them they refused to move past the center area of the island for fear of the king being attacked by the pirates.
The marine shivered as a cold breeze blew by. He rubbed his palm together then blew hot air into them to keep himself warm. If he had known that they would been forced to stay on this island he would have brought his winter coat.
It had only been a few months since he joined the Marines but he has experienced a lot of things. Although the pay was high the job itself wasn't easy. In fact, he'd say that the work was higher than the pay itself.
While the marine was mindlessly patrolling the streets he heard a loud commotion behind him. When he turned around to see what the cause of the commotion was he saw a huge cloud of dust in the distance gradually making it way towards him.
He couldn't make out the silhouettes well but as they got closer it noticed that it was a group of four being making their way towards him. Since all the villagers were quarantined that could only mean that they were pirates.
The marine hurriedly raise his gun and pointed it at them. Seeing the distance between them rapidly closing the marine shouted. "Stop! Stop in the name of justice"
However, all he got for his effort was a mean right hook courtesy of Roger which sent him smashing into the wall of a building.
Before the marine lost conscious a single thought crossed his mind.
'I am going to quit being a marine'
Roger laughed at the marine's misfortune ignorant of the fact that he had just forced a man to quit the job that put food in his table with a ticket to the hospital as he ran to catch up to the others.
However, as they continued to run through the streets they soon stumbled upon the scene of the marines and pirates battling it out to the death. The surrounding buildings were destroyed and the ground now had numerous small dents in it.
Dead bodies of pirates and marines spread out as far as they could see and the number kept adding up as time passed.
However, one thing they noticed was that the pirates were on the losing side against the combined force of the Drum kingdom soldiers and Marines.
Edward frowned when he saw the massacre taking place. "Looks like it's only going to get more difficult from here on out"
Naruto felt nauseated by the sight. He had never seen such a scene before. Rayleigh who was standing beside Naruto place a hand in his back to comfort him. Naruto nodded gratefully at him before managing to stand up straight.
Even Roger had a ugly expression on his face as his fist subconsciously tightened.
"Maybe we should find another path to take?" Naruto suggested however Edward shook his head and said. "No this is the fastest way to the dock, we have no choice but to keep moving"
As the group of four stood there observing the battlefield in front of them a group of marines soon took notice of them.
"It seem we have been spotted" Naruto said when he saw the marines aiming their guns at them.
"Move" Roger shouted prompting them to move out of the way of fire before charging in the battlefield.
The marines immediately grew nervous when they saw the new group of pirates charging into the battlefield while the marines cheered. Maybe this new group could help them tip the scale of the battle in their favor.
"Roger keep your head on straight. Our main priority is to escape this island" Rayleigh reminded his captain as he cut down a marine in his path. He twirled around another marine's back and slashed open his back causing him to scream as agonizing pain assaulted his entire being. However, Rayleigh didn't wait around to listen to his cries as he charged towards another marine.
"Don't worry Rayleigh, I haven't forgotten" Roger chuckled after he sent another marine to the realm of unconsciousness. Unlike Raleigh he made sure to contain his strength so didn't unintentionally kill them.
"Seriously, just how many are there?" Naruto frowned as he knocked out another marine. His fist was like the hammer of judgement as he hammered away at the marine. However no matter how matter he defeated or knocked out more kept on coming. He has lost count of the amount of marines and Drum kingdom soldiers he had knocked out so far.
"Move" Edwards halberd moved in an arc sending another group of marines flying effortlessly. The marines were completely powerless against this monster of a man. Even the pirates made sure to distance themselves away from him, not wanting to be indirectly hit by one of his attacks.
"Ahhhh!"
"It hurts!"
"Somebody stop those monsters!"
"We cant. That giant is sending us flying like bowling pin!"
"We can't handle them on our own. Call for back up!"

Purururu purururu
Tsuru who was already making her way towards the commotion heard her den den mushi ringing. She took it out of her pocket and the den den mushi panicked as soon as she picked up.
"Captain, we need back up! The pirates are too strong for us! Please captain!"
"Don't let them escape I am already on my way" Tsuru replied with a frown before she cut off the connection. She already knew that the cadets wouldn't be able to handle the pirates their only job was to delay them until they arrived.
Tsuru glanced at the huge man running along side her. The man was huge and almost the same height as Edward with two long arms. The man was captain Daichi, a marine captain known for his monstrous strength. The were leading a group of marine towards the battlefield to serve as back up.
Daichi also had a Frown on his face as he had also heard the report from the marine. "Those uncivilized pirates. I will make sure to break every bones in their body. Don't try to stop me when we get there Tsuru"
"I'd dare not as not as long as you don't kill Edward." Tsuru smiled seductively at him causing Daichi to look over. To him women were nothing but backstabbers and that smile on Tsuru's face unnerved him.
"Whatever. Let's just get this over with" Daichi grumbled before running off leaving Tsuru behind.
"How impulsive" Tsuru frowned as she stared at Daichi back gradually disappearing from her line of sight before running after him.
