Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Elysium

Chapter 2: Elysium

[Descend complete. The compensation for the body's original consciousness has been paid with a dream about reuniting with his deceased parents.]

[Psychic connection has been terminated. Eva will only provide you with a simple data bank you may need to develop technology in this world.]

[Name: Elysium

Ethics: Fanatic materialist, egalitarian

Age: 7

Martial spirit: Brain (Just awakened), psychic heart (Modified from the main consciousness)]

[Have fun, Aester.]

"Hmm, this body is weaker than I imagined." Elysium jumped a few times and felt his body feel incredibly light.

After the earthquake destroyed the awakening room, some students and parents hunched over in fear. Meanwhile, all the teachers and the spiritual master had to evacuate the building and take cover from the falling rubble.

Some looked at Elysium like a crazy person, but Elysium just ignored it and checked something that felt warm on his abdomen.

"I believe this is called soul power, right? And the martial soul is the brain and psychic heart." Elysium could feel his brain working so slowly, like a piece of junk.

It felt like running an old computer the size of a multi-story building using a single vacuum tube to store data. Not only was this inefficient, but it was also a waste of space.

"Tsk, the martial soul is the brain, but nothing seems special about this." Elysium clicked his tongue and turned his attention to the psychic heart.

In his heart, where all the blood comes and is pumped throughout the body, a tiny bit of psychic power forms and acts as a bridge for psychic power storage. Before the shroud formed here, the only way to replenish and accumulate psychic power was from this heart.

This heart is the most useful thing, right now. The brain? This low-level processor doesn't even have any use at all.

"I'm a scientist, and now you want me to play psyker?"

No, even this body can't hold too much psychic energy, and the accumulation must stop when the body can't handle it. With this little psychic energy, what do you want me to do?

Elysium simply sighed softly and looked at the students at the strangely named Red Mountain Elementary Academy. He was also one of the students at this school and seemed to be a very ordinary student.

If his memory served him correctly, although his martial soul seemed to be a body martial soul, his innate soul power was only level 3 and had no special qualities.

While many noticed that this boy, named Elysium, was acting strangely, none of them stopped him; they simply looked stupid for a second before their cognition was corrected.

Now, the trace of the original body he had taken over had completely disappeared from this world and had been replaced by Elysium.

Elysium walked away, leaving the school, which would likely be closed for some time.

He saw a strange child with white hair staring at him with an intense gaze. Her amethyst eyes amazed Elysium for a moment and even intrigued him. She seemed so different from the other children around her that she seemed to be avoiding them all.

Elysium touched the little girl's chin and lifted it to look into her eyes. "Genetic mutation? No, probably something different. Something much more than it looks."

In just one second, Elysium could see something different about this girl. Although her eyes looked like normal human eyes, there was something different that humans shouldn't have.

The neural network and shape of her pupils were different from those of normal humans. Furthermore, there was no visible blood network in the sides of her eyes, as seen in a typical human pupil.

She looked like an amateur trying to imitate a human with such innocence and naivety.

Na'er took a few steps back, seeing Elysium's dangerous gaze, ready to kidnap her and do something they shouldn't do.

"Stop, what are you doing!" Tang Wulin shouted, shielding his little sister behind him. His eyes were like a brother protecting his little sister from a thug offering candy.

Elysium wasn't bothered by the boy's actions. He thought for a moment and had already decided on one important research topic in his mind.

"Soul beasts, an interesting species. They can transform into humanoid form and walk like humans. But why humans? Why not another humanoid like a monkey or an ape? Is it because of the human factor that they choose humans?" Elysium made various calculations in his head.

His brain wasn't as good as before, but it was still usable.

He really wanted to dissect the soul beasts of all kinds, to see if there was anything special about the soul beasts in this world. His soul roared with excitement when he saw the direction of the experiments he could conduct.

But first…

"Oh, isn't it, Tang Wulin. I didn't know you could make such a face." Elysium's mouth curled up, and she bowed slowly. "I apologize for my rudeness in touching your things. I didn't know that, and I overstepped my bounds."

Hearing this, Tang Wulin became even angrier. He roared at Elysium. "She's not an object. She's my sister!"

Elysium raised her eyebrows, seeing the joke as terrible. But then she came to a realization. "Ah, I know, you're one of them, aren't you? If I'm not mistaken, people like you could be called furries. Right, furries…"

What a poor child. He's still so young, but he already has mental problems and likes animals?

What did his parents teach this child? Didn't they think there was anything wrong with liking animals and even showing excessive affection to them?

Maybe his father was the same as him? Or maybe their entire generation was some kind of furry?

Elysium shuddered at the thought. This type of person was the least he wanted to confront. Logic didn't work with those with mental disorders like them. No matter what the truth was told to them, they would deny it and claim that love could transcend racial boundaries.

The young Tang Wulin didn't know the look Elysium was now showing was one of pity and slight disgust when he saw him.

Faced with someone like this, Elysium took the easy route. "Yes... yes... she is your sister. Your beloved sister."

Elysium said while rolling his eyes. He quickly left Red Mountain Academy and returned to his residence not far from here, leaving Tang Wulin in disbelief as he watched someone run so fast.

"Note to myself, don't approach a child with mental problems who likes an animal in human skin. If he dares to say a soul beast to his sister now, he will dare to do f*** tomorrow."

In his small house, Elysium lay tiredly on the sofa, jotting down notes on his to-dos.

The most urgent thing was to make money. Research and experiments wouldn't be possible without a substantial injection of funds. Furthermore, materials and various experimental equipment required significant costs.

One could argue that even if he sold his house, he wouldn't be able to find a laboratory that would satisfy him.

"Then, you can start a company. Something needed by many people in this world, not only soul masters but also ordinary people. Not like some wicked megacorporation, but like something that can truly emphasize an egalitarian company."

Elysium immediately got up from his bed and began sketching on paper with great skill. Every time he added something, he would take a note and jot down its function, pros and cons, and any other inspirations that arose.

The next day, Elysium threw away his fifth pen and smiled with satisfaction.
