Because the matter involved his future vessel, the Priest Master decided that, to ensure nothing went wrong, he would personally head to the Hidden Mist Village to regroup with Obito—both to monitor him and to keep brainwashing him continuously.
After the Priest Master left, Zetsu sneered.
"Cooperation? How laughable."
Five years ago, when the Priest Master first appeared in this world, Black Zetsu—who monitored everything—was the first to discover this intruder from another dimension.
At the same time, the guardian of this world, Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo, also emerged from the Pure Land.
Sensing the unique "law power" on Hagoromo's body, the Priest Master immediately coveted it.
Both Hagoromo and Black Zetsu instantly felt the malicious intent radiating from the Priest Master.
However, the Priest Master greatly underestimated the Sage of Six Paths—Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo—whose power far surpassed his expectations. Compared to the Priest Master's original world, this one was a high-power world. Even an ordinary civilian here was physically stronger than the average person in his world.
Unsurprisingly, the Priest Master was utterly crushed—completely powerless to fight back.
But before Hagoromo could erase him completely, the Priest Master abandoned his physical vessel, letting his soul escape.
Zetsu trailed the Priest Master's disembodied spirit, seeing it clearly yet unable to sense any aura from it.
As an expert at concealment, Zetsu was already undetectable to most ninja, although some rare methods could still expose him.
What troubled him more was that Hagoromo had already begun to vaguely sense the existence of this "brother" of his.
To avoid being discovered by Hagoromo, Zetsu decided to cooperate with the Priest Master and use the Priest Master's power to completely mask his own presence.
Meanwhile, the Priest Master—whose body had just been destroyed—was in a state of confusion and panic. Zetsu approached him at that moment, and the two formed a temporary alliance.
After spending some time together, Zetsu discovered that the Priest Master's abilities extended far beyond aura-concealment—many of his skills were strange, versatile, and extremely dangerous.
Zetsu then told the Priest Master about the Infinite Tsukuyomi plan and his ever-effective speeches about "peace," hoping to trick the Priest Master into becoming his pawn.
But this time, Zetsu failed. The Priest Master did not fall for it. What he desired was the law power of this world; Zetsu's plan for "peace" was of no interest to him whatsoever.
From subtle probing, Zetsu learned that the Priest Master only cared about one thing—restoring his strength, returning to his original world, and destroying it.
Zetsu found this mindset quite similar to his own, so he "accidentally" revealed some internal secrets.
He told the Priest Master:
"My goal is to reclaim all nine tailed beasts, resurrect the Ten-Tails, and bring the God Tree back to life. This world will become a farm—its sole purpose to nourish the God Tree. And the fruit born from the God Tree contains the law power of worlds. I promise you: once we achieve my goal, the God Tree's fruit will be yours."
In this unfamiliar world, the Priest Master lacked better options for the moment, so he accepted Zetsu's proposal and they became partners.
But both knew very clearly:
Once their interests clashed, they would not hesitate to stab each other in the back.
Meanwhile, after passing through several villages, Yosuke arrived in the Land of Rice Fields and took in the customs of the region.
It was interesting—many ordinary people lacked the talent to use jutsu, yet most still possessed at least a trace of chakra within their bodies.
This meant that even a mundane civilian could give birth to a surprisingly gifted child, which contributed to the overall high battle power of this world.
Furthermore, the technology here was somewhat similar to Yosuke's world—there were trains, wireless radios, refrigerators…
But other branches of technology seemed strangely underdeveloped.
Some areas were so uncivilized that bandits still existed—and Yosuke "luckily" ran into them.
As he walked through a forest, more than a dozen men suddenly burst out from the trees.
The leader, a one-eyed bandit, held a katana whose blade gleamed faintly, while the others carried crude farm tools like shovels.
The one-eyed bandit stared greedily at Yosuke. One look at Yosuke's attire told him this was an easy mark. And the sword at Yosuke's waist—even still sheathed—radiated a deadly sharpness.
This road, connecting the Land of Rice Fields to the Land of Fire, often saw wealthy youths passing by. These rich kids had money to burn and loved to show off by purchasing expensive weapons.
To the one-eyed bandit, Yosuke's soft-looking skin and delicate appearance made him seem like some rich boy traveling for pleasure—an easy, fat sheep.
"Hey, kid," the bandit said, "hand over everything you've got—including the clothes you're wearing. They look pretty valuable. Do as I say, and maybe we'll be merciful enough to let you live!"
"Sorry, I refuse."
Yosuke almost laughed. In all these years, it was the first time someone had actually called him "kid."
"So you think just because you've got a fancy decoration on your waist, you can beat us? Looks like you won't cry until you see the coffin!"
The one-eyed bandit rested his hand on the hilt of his sheathed katana, lowering into a stance—right foot bracing, body leaning forward.
With a mocking expression, he taunted:
"My favorite sight is watching self-important nobles kneel before me and beg for their lives. Ready to die?"
Behind him, his followers grew excited upon seeing their leader take a proper stance.
"That kid's done for—boss is serious!"
"Boss doesn't need to go that far. We could take care of that brat ourselves."
"Boss probably just doesn't want us roughing him up and damaging the valuable stuff on him."
The bandits murmured confidently, as though victory was guaranteed.
The one-eyed bandit roared:
"Die! Iai Slash!"
In an instant, he closed the distance to Yosuke, his right hand drawing the blade in a flash of steel.
But at that speed, he seemed to move like a snail in Yosuke's eyes.
Just before the blade touched him, Yosuke raised his right hand and precisely grabbed the bandit's wrist. Then he kicked him hard in the stomach.
The one-eyed bandit flew backward, rolling across the ground several times before finally stopping, wracked with pain as he gagged repeatedly.
"Boss! Are you okay?!"
His subordinates hurried to help him up.
Humiliated and furious, the one-eyed bandit bellowed,
"What are you waiting for?! All of you—get him!"
At his command, the bandits charged at Yosuke with their makeshift weapons.
Yosuke sighed and shook his head.
"You still don't understand the situation, huh? Fine…"
He picked up the katana the one-eyed bandit had dropped.
"A sword is not meant to be used like this."
He leveled the point of the blade toward the group.
