As he walked onto the stage, Morin checked his current [Magician] job panel.

[Magician Intermediate (900/1000)]

[Title: Adept]

[Attributes: 110]

[Skills: Intermediate Golden Cicada's Escape, Intermediate Mind Control, Intermediate Kato's Hand]

Magic performances couldn't just be held on a whim.

Especially the large-scale stage performances that Morin was doing, the kind that were broadcast on TV and in newspapers, required a lot of preparation, including scripts, venues, and coordinating with the audience... so there was a relatively long interval between each one.

This was also necessary to maximize the effect of their endorsements.

If you take someone's money, you have to do a good job. If you don't, no one will come back to you next time.

If you do a good job, you don't even need to promote yourself; others will see it and come to you on their own. This is the most basic principle of business: get paid, do the job.

If you try to be clever, you might get a short-term advantage, but in the end, it's all about strength. In the long run, those with real strength will generally develop and thrive better than those who rely on dishonest shortcuts.

So, in the past year, Morin and Daniel had only performed nine magic shows together. Today was the tenth.

Of course, what they lacked in quantity, they made up for in quality, and the benefits were more than enough.

This was evident from Morin's job panel, which was about to break through to the advanced level.

After this performance, Morin was almost 100% certain that he would reach the advanced level.

However, Morin didn't plan to leave this world just yet.

As a transmigrator, he had to maximize the resources available in each world.

In the previous worlds of Fast & Furious and the spy world, there was nothing to be gained beyond money and status, so Morin basically left as soon as he reached the advanced level, having enjoyed enough of the benefits.

Then there was the Assassin's world... that was a different story.

Morin had planned to expand the Templar Knights to the extreme and get a continuous experience buff, but who would have thought that he would accidentally enter the world of Assassin's Creed?

Morin was still angry about that!

He had it locked away in his memory. When he was strong enough, he would take a starship fleet back and blast all those pretentious Isu people to pieces!

That was a problem for another day.

For now, Morin's focus was on the world he was currently in, the world of Now You See Me.

If this were a purely comedic and relaxed world, that would be one thing.

In that case, Morin would have treated it as a world for complete relaxation, spending some time eating, drinking, and having fun to get rid of the psychological effects of too much killing in the last world.

And then, after he reached the advanced level, he would leave.

But this... this was a world where magic existed!

And based on the existence of the Eye, magic in this world wasn't completely undeveloped. On the contrary, a whole organization the Eye had been formed!

Based on the information he had gathered from various sources over the past year, Morin was quite sure of one thing: the Eye, this organization hailed as a holy land for magicians, was full of people who thought it was "normal for a magician to know a few magic tricks"!

This organization had a long and rich history. If someone told him there were no systematic training, mentors, or spellbooks for magic... did they think Morin would believe them?

In any case, regardless of whether they had them or not, Morin decided they must have them!

So, Morin's plan was to end his collaboration with Daniel after this performance.

He would enlighten Daniel, who had been blinded by money, and give him a chance to return to his original path.

Morin, on the other hand, would go looking for members of the Eye to see if he could "harvest" them.

Morin did not plan to contact Dylan Rhodes. Dylan Rhodes, played by Mark Ruffalo, the actor who played the Hulk in the MCU, was an FBI agent and the son of magician Lionel Shrike in this world.

In Now You See Me 1, he was the mastermind behind everything.

As a member of the Eye, Dylan tested Daniel and the Four Horsemen, giving them the task of scamming Arthur Tressler, the CEO of an insurance company, out of all his money and returning it to the people who should have received the insurance payout.

He also wanted to get the magic-debunking expert Thaddeus Bradley sent to prison.

However, a bigger scam was hidden within this one.

The truth was that Dylan wasn't a member of the Eye; he was a fake.

He didn't have the qualifications to join the Eye, but through some information, he learned about the organization.

So, to get revenge, he chose to impersonate a member of the Eye!

By doing so, he used Daniel and the Four Horsemen, under the guise of a test, to perform magic and get revenge for his father's death.

Dylan's father, Lionel, died while performing a magic trick being locked in a safe and dropped into a river which he failed to escape.

In Dylan's eyes, a large part of the blame for his father's death belonged to Thaddeus Bradley. His father had a new trick, and Thaddeus would debunk it.

So, in his desperation, his father performed a trick he hadn't mastered, which led to his accidental death.

Of course, it was more than just that. For magicians, revealing a magic trick was the most intolerable thing.

However... what Dylan didn't know was that Thaddeus Bradley was actually a member of the Eye and had been partners with his father.

Their old routine of "I perform, you debunk" was just a unique way for them to make money together.

Thaddeus, out of guilt, never told Dylan about this and willingly allowed Dylan to send him to prison.

Thaddeus also vouched for Dylan, making the Eye tolerate Dylan's impersonation and arranging subsequent tests for Dylan and the Four Horsemen to successfully join the real Eye... which was the plot of the second movie.

As for Dylan being a fake member of the Eye, Morin wasn't just making it up. In Now You See Me 2, you can see that if Dylan were a real member of the Eye, he wouldn't be unfamiliar with Thaddeus Bradley, the old lady, and Jay Chou, who were also members.

This alone was enough to prove it.

Soon, Morin stepped onto the stage, greeting the enthusiastic cheers of the audience.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it's an honor to be here with you tonight..."

...

The performance went smoothly. The only small hiccup was during the farewell segment, which caused a commotion in the audience.

Before this, Morin had not revealed this news, not even to Daniel, who only found out just before going on stage.

The final result was that Morin's body, including his clothes, face, and pants, was covered in lipstick marks.

The scene was too chaotic. Morin didn't know who did it, and since they were all his fans, it didn't feel right to get rough with them.

Morin also understood their feelings, so he just let them do as they pleased, trying his best to protect his clothes.

As for the rest... what was a few kisses going to do to him? Of course, Morin firmly rejected the male creatures mixed in with them.

Although he had the looks and physique to attract both men and women, he was not interested in both. His values were very firm.

...

A few days later.

"So..." Thaddeus Bradley looked at Morin with some confusion. "Mr. Morin, did you have something you wanted to talk to me about?"

"Of course," Morin said, glancing at the items in the room, then putting his attention back on Thaddeus. He was in no hurry to get to the point.

"Are you going to offer me something to drink?"

Speaking of which, there was something very interesting.

Besides Jesse Eisenberg, who played Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman, and Mark Ruffalo, who played the Hulk, Thaddeus Bradley was also a familiar face whom Morin had seen in the last world.

In Wanted, Thaddeus was played by the actor who played Sloan, the leader of the Fraternity of Assassins.

Of course, since Morin hadn't had any direct contact with Sloan, he didn't feel much about it. It just felt a little jarring to see the same person in different worlds with different identities.

"Of course... what would you like to drink?" Thaddeus smiled and nodded, not in a hurry. He knew who Morin was.

Over the past year, Morin and Daniel's duo had become famous, and as a member of the Eye, Thaddeus could naturally see the magical elements mixed in with Morin's performance.

However, joining the Eye wasn't as simple as being a magician who could use magic. Being a magician who could use magic was a necessary condition, but not a sufficient one.

For the Eye, besides being able to use magic, there were other factors they considered, such as character.

This was because from the very beginning, the Eye was a self-formed organization of people who used magic to steal food from slave owners and distribute it to the slaves to help others.

So, even though they knew Morin and Daniel were magicians who could use magic, the Eye had no intention of bringing them into the organization.

Of course, they also noticed that Morin was trying to gather information about the Eye, but they didn't do anything about it.

Whatever Morin wanted to do was his freedom, as long as he didn't abuse his magic for evil or to deceive people. In this regard, the Eye was quite laid-back.

But now, Morin had come to him, and that made Thaddeus a little curious. What was it for?

"Hmm..." Morin pondered for a moment, then his eyes lit up. "A glass of freshly squeezed five-spiced carrot and cilantro juice!"

Thaddeus was speechless. He felt like three question marks were floating above his head.

I might not be able to produce that for you, but first of all... isn't that a little too strange of a request?!

What's the difference between that and hot pot-flavored toothpaste or cumin-flavored coffee?!

Thaddeus was completely dumbfounded. After a moment, he cleared his throat and said, "Mr. Morin, your taste seems to be a little... unique. I don't have that here... how about something else?"

"You don't even have such a common drink?" Morin said, nodding with a disappointed look.

Thaddeus smiled apologetically. There was a two-second silence.

"Wait, what do you mean 'common' drink?!" Thaddeus snapped back, almost flipping the table in anger.

He took a deep breath, took several deep breaths, so much so that his brain became a little dizzy from the excessive oxygen.

Only then did Thaddeus calm down and maintain his smile. "Sir? How about a glass of wine?"

"Do you really only have wine?" Morin asked curiously.

"Can't you just make some cilantro and carrots appear? I can provide the five-spice myself..."

As he spoke, Morin's hand swept across the tabletop, and a pile of five-spice powder instantly appeared.

Thaddeus was speechless. "So we're going to keep talking about this five-spiced carrot and cilantro juice, are we?! And why do you carry five-spice powder with you?!"

Thaddeus's urge to rant was rekindled after a long time.

"Mr. Morin..." Thaddeus's expression was beginning to falter.

"Alright, alright, I won't make things difficult for you, Mr. Bradley," Morin waved his hand, making the pile of five-spice powder disappear. He then sat back on the sofa in a relaxed position.

"I think you already know why I'm here, don't you?"

"What?" Thaddeus surreptitiously wiped a small piece of edible dye from his palm... he had planned to show off with it, but unfortunately, Morin had already anticipated this and stopped him.

"Let's not beat around the bush, Mr. Bradley," Morin said, successfully stopping Thaddeus's attempt to show off and leaving him flustered.

Morin chose to get straight to the point. "I know you're a member of the Eye."

"The Eye?" Thaddeus didn't show any cracks in his facade. "I don't know what you're talking about, Mr. Morin. Are you referring to that organization that doesn't exist?"

"So you do know what I'm talking about?" Morin threw back a sarcastic remark.

"That's not important," Thaddeus said after a moment of silence, choosing not to be led by Morin's pace.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"I don't want to join the Eye," Morin said flatly.

"You can't join anyway," Thaddeus finally found an opportunity to retort.

"See? You just gave yourself away again," Morin spread his hands. Invincibility was so lonely.

"But what I said is true. I know you're a member of the Eye, but I'm not here to join." Morin sat up a little straighter.

"I want to learn the Eye's magic."
