Chapter 18 - Chapter 20 — A Gift Worth Remembering

The restaurant was quiet that afternoon, soft piano music drifting in the background. Kael sat by the window, finishing his meal while scrolling through his phone. On the screen, dozens of luxury gift options flickered by—jewelry, antiques, even down payment packages for real estate.

He wasn't browsing for himself. This time, it was for the two people who had stood by him from the very beginning. Their wedding was coming up in just six days, and Kael wanted to gift them something unforgettable.

For ten long minutes, he scrolled, comparing ideas.

"A house down payment?" he muttered under his breath. "Or maybe antiques… No, that feels too cold."

He leaned back, thoughtful. Cars began catching his eye—family cars, sturdy yet stylish. Something practical, but also special. He browsed through the latest models: Audi Q7, BMW X7, Porsche Cayenne. Each had its own charm, but choosing wasn't easy.

After a moment of hesitation, he smirked and tapped on the Audi Q7.

"This one. Reliable, classy, and perfect for a family," he said softly.

The dealership confirmed the purchase quickly. Kael transferred $20,000 as the down payment, with the remaining $50,000 scheduled for delivery. The car would arrive in two days—just in time before the wedding. With that settled, he finally relaxed.

Marriage in six days. Car in two. No need to rush.

Leaving the restaurant, Kael rode back to his mansion. The ride was smooth, city lights flashing past, but his thoughts weren't on work for once.

"Damn," he sighed, stretching his shoulders. "I've been grinding nonstop. No time for health at all."

As soon as he stepped into his estate, two security guards and a pair of maids greeted him at the door.

"Welcome home, sir," they said in unison, bowing slightly.

Kael nodded and glanced at his butler.

"Tomorrow, I want a proper gym set up here," he instructed. "Order the equipment and also hire a personal trainer."

"Yes, sir," the butler replied with a polite smile.

Kael transferred another $20,000 to cover the expenses. He then asked the staff if they had eaten before sending them off to rest.

Finally, he retreated to his bedroom. Exhaustion settled over him as he stretched out on the bed. His phone lit up with endless reels, and thirty minutes slipped by in a blur of short videos.

At some point, without realizing, Kael drifted off to sleep—his phone slipping from his hand, the glow fading as the mansion grew silent for the night.
