Chapter 5

‎"Who is he?, That guy— is he your boyfriend?" Damon asked with his face formed with sadness and anger.

‎"I don't think that's any of your business. You're not my dad, brother or friend, so you have no right to ask me. I said angry my voice sharp.

‎"Oh I get it," he said angry. Has he kissed you? Or touched you? which one — or both huh?"

‎The words made me angry, and before I knew it, I slapped him on his cheek.

‎"How dare you say such thing about me?, you have no right!, Just because you're my brother's best friend, you think you can talk to me any how?, For your information I can talk to whoever i want to, kiss whoever i want to kiss, and make the man I love touch me if I choose. I'm twenty now, not that sixteen year old girl you insulted."

‎I stormed off, with anger. Leaving him standing there. But I felt sad for slapping him, but I also knew he was wrong.

‎I replayed his word and it stung.

‎Months passed. My graduation came, I was officially done with school. I felt proud.

‎Now I was someone different, someone with ambition and dream.

‎I've been applying for work, but no one called back.

‎Rejection letters were sent to my email.

‎My expectations was down with every passing week.

‎Sandra, my best friend, had gotten a job right after graduation. And I'm the only one left out.

‎i didn't want to depend on anyone. My brother had told me to work in his company. But my pride refused.

‎I was too stubborn, to determined to succeed on my own.

‎Anthony also offered me to work with him the cafe he managed.I refused as well, I didn't want to be a burden to him.

‎It's been 6 months now since my graduation and still no job, I felt sad.

‎I cried sometimes into my pillow, wishing to get a job soon.

‎One afternoon, Mom told me my brother was coming back home. The house was filled with the scent of her cooking and we made preparation to welcome him.

‎When he finally walked through the door, the whole house lit up instantly.

‎"Hey mom, hey sis —it's been a while, How are you?" he said pulling us into a heart warming hug.

‎"I'm good sweetheart," Mom said, smiling proudly. "How have you been?"

‎"I'm fine, mom."

‎I smiled "Hey, big head, what's up?"

‎He chuckled. "I'm good, little sis."

‎I knew he was teasing me.

‎We sat down "So, how has work been, huh?, And why don't you have a girlfriend yet? You're supposed to right?"

‎"Yes, I know," he said smiling. "work has been fine and I do have a girlfriend, I'll introduce her soon.

‎"Oh wow, that's nice," I said with sincerity. "I can't wait to meet her.

‎"How about you, any boyfriend yet? He said with a teasing smile.

‎I looked away sighing. "No, not yet, I need a job, not a boyfriend."

‎With that, a certain blue eyes flashed in my mind, that person have tried to let my mind go off.
