Chapter 2 - The Beginning of the Show
Cody woke up early to have breakfast with his parents; today they would pick him up for the show.
His mother took the lead in sending her son off by preparing a hearty breakfast. His father encouraged him and gave him advice about television, taking care of his actions and his image.
The moment arrived when a car honked its horn, and he hugged his parents goodbye.
"I love you and expect the paparazzi soon" Cody told his parents
"Relax, and remember, we're proud of you, darling," his mother told him as she said goodbye. His father nodded goodbye.
Cody got into the car that would take him to the airport. All he could think about was that things would finally start and that many things would change from now on.
Cody took his plane, which dropped him off in Ontario, and then arrived at a dock before a boat came to pick him up.
While waiting, he made a mental list of what was in store for him this season and the things he would try.
1. Beat up the bear if it crosses your path; old Cody deserved his revenge.
2. Make friends with the honest ones, Owen, Noah, and Geoff.
3. Go out with one of the show's beauties, Gwen, Lindsay, or Courtney.
4. Get to know Chef and his story better
. 5. Play pranks on Chris.
While he was making his list, his boat finally arrived, being a luxury yacht, Cody could only laugh thinking about how they prepared so that the campers would not notice the rough camp they were going to.
Cody put on his music, to enjoy the trip and prepare his own entrance, being one of the show's favorites was also his intention.
Meanwhile, Chris was on the dock about to start the presentation:
"Hello, we're broadcasting live from Camp Wawanakwa. I'm your host, Chris McLean," Chris said, pointing to himself as an introduction.
"Giving you the first season of the hottest reality show..." Chris paused for dramatic effect. "Right now!"
"This is what it's all about, 22 campers have signed up to spend eight weeks at this old, ramshackle summer camp." For some reason, he seemed proud of the camp itself and the conditions the campers would be living in.
"They will compete in challenges against themselves, and receive judgment from their fellow campers."
The camera gives us a slight close-up of the host's face as he continues speaking.
"Every three days, a team will either win a reward or see one of their own walk down the dock of shame, take a ride on the boat of losers." Chris laughed at his own made-up name as a sign lowered and a picture of the boat of losers came into view.
"And he'll be leaving Total Drama Island, forever!" Chris said.
A new change of scene takes us to a place where there is a campfire, but it is extinguished, with wooden seats nearby.
"Their fate will be decided here! At the dramatic elimination ceremonies. Where each camper will receive a marshmallow!" Chris continued explaining before grabbing a stick with a marshmallow on it and proceeding to chew it, once he swallows it he precedes to speak.
"In the end, only one will remain standing, and he will be rewarded with the fame of all the magazines" Chris said while showing several magazines with his face that were handed out by the inmates, implying that he is quite famous.
"And, a small fortune." A chest containing quite a few gold coins as well as other valuables is thrust into his arms.
"Which, let's face it, they'll probably spend it all within a week. To survive, they'll have to fight."
"Bugs, grizzly bears, disgusting camp food and... themselves," Chris said as the cameras showed each of them in the camp.
"Also, every moment will be captured by some of the hundreds of cameras we have located throughout the Camp," Chris said, pointing out the cameras in rather unexpected places, as well as some in places that looked very obvious.
"Who's going to give in to the pressure?" Chris asks the camera once it's back on him, showing him back at the dock, presumably to wait for the campers who would arrive later.
"Guess what it is here. In ¡Isla!, ¡Drama!!!" Chris said, then made room for what would be the intro.
Chris was now waiting at the dock for the campers to arrive.
*Intro:
After the space, Chris continued with the presentation
"Welcome back to Total Drama Island, very well, it's time to meet the 11 campers, we told you that you would be staying in a 5-star hotel, so if you get angry, it will be because of that" Chris said in a very funny way, as if he wanted them to get angry.
The first to arrive was Beth, with a normal entrance
"Beth, what's up?" Chris said in a friendly manner.
Beth ran to hug him, making Chris uncomfortable.
"It's amazing to meet you, wow you're much shorter in person" Beth said honestly.
"Ah...thanks" Chris replied, uncomfortable with the situation.
The next to arrive normally was DJ
"Dj!" Chris called him
"Hey Chris McLean! What's up? Are you sure this is the campsite? Where's the hot tub?" DJ said as he looked around the place.
"Dude, this is it, this is Camp Wawanakwa!" Chris replied.
"It looked different on the registration form..." said DJ, somewhat discouraged.
Next to arrive was Gwen, as sharp as you'd expect.
"Hi Gwen" said Chris, more relaxed.
"Are we going to stay here?" asks Gwen.
"No,... you guys are staying here, I'm staying over there where there's air conditioning," Chris said mockingly, pointing to some nice facilities that were better than the cabins at the camp.
"I didn't agree to do this!" Gwen said angrily.
"Actually yes, you have to learn to read the fine print" Chris replied showing his signed contract
Gwen proceeded to take the contract and destroy it
"You know that's the good thing about lawyers, .... They make tons of copies" Chris said mockingly with a big smile as he showed more contracts to Gwen
"I'm not staying here!" Gwen said, turning towards the ship, which she could see leaving only to hear Chris say behind her, "I hope you know nothing, because your transport has already left."
"Idiot" was all Gwen could say before resigning herself.
The next to arrive was a teenager with a cowboy hat and a pink shirt, the typical blond who lived for partying more than anything else, Geoff
"Hey, Chris. It's an honor to meet you, man!" Geoff said, fist-bumping the presenter, who smiled back.
"Geoff-master! Welcome to the island, old man!" said Chris.
"Thanks, man!" said Geoff.
"If you say 'old' one more time, I'm going to throw up," Gwen muttered to DJ and Beth, earning a few worried looks.
Back at the dock, Chris went to introduce the new camper to the other campers, "Everyone, that's Lindsay."
The boys couldn't help but look twice up and down at the sensual blonde they just got off the boat, with an hourglass figure and great measurements that the other girls will envy, the new camper introduces herself.
"Hi everyone! I'm Lindsay!" Said Lindsay, the dumb blonde from the show (😍😍)
Some campers rolled their eyes, Chris had already introduced her, judging by the girl's look and smile, it didn't seem like she was the sharpest knife in the kitchen.
Chris had to keep his gaze on the girl's eyes; these days, you can get sued just for looking in the wrong place, especially knowing that he was under the gaze of all the cameras.
Walking down the pier, the busty blonde gave the host a pointed look, "You look so familiar," Lindsay said.
"I'm Chris McLean," Chris said.
"..." thought Lindsay
"The host of this show?" Chris said.
"Oh, that's where I know you from," Lindsay said, stopping to think.
"Is it just me or are teenagers getting more and more stupid?" Chris thought about what he had to do to make a successful show, at least he would have a lot of horny teenagers who would only watch the show because of this blonde.
The next boat to arrive was one that brought with it a girl who, although she was wearing dark glasses, more than one felt her penetrating gaze, Heather
"Now we have our prom queen and what could be the next antagonist of a mean girl reboot! Heather!" Chris said.
"Am I supposed to stay here? This is unacceptable! I'll call my parents!" Heather growled angrily as she stepped off the boat and glared at the host, who shrugged.
The contract was a testament to her affection.
When she reached out to the other campers, Heather stayed away from the group, seemingly intolerant of those who tried to talk to her.
Something typical of the queen bee.
Forgetting about her, Chris introduced his next camper, who came accompanied by heavy rock that made more than one feel uncomfortable, although that mattered little to the newcomer.
"Duncan, dude," Chris greeted the punk kid, who frowned.
"I don't like surprises..." Duncan threatened, pointing his fist at the presenter, who, keeping that smile on his face, raised his phone.
"Yeah, your parole officer warned me about that, kid," Chris said, chuckling as he displayed the number 911 on his cell phone screen. "He also told me to call him anytime and he'd send you back to juvie."
Duncan shrugged, rolling his eyes, being here was better than going back to juvie, "Okay then" resignedly he picked up his bag again and headed towards the other campers, winking at Heather as he passed by her, "See you by the campfire, beautiful"
"Fuck you, you idiot," Heather responded harshly, the teenager crossing her arms.
The next camper to arrive came in a rather abrupt manner.
The boat appeared out at sea, pulling a jock wearing a red jumpsuit and water skiing. "Ladies and gentlemen, Tyler!" The jock waved to everyone. What could have been a grand entrance ended up being a disaster, causing the boat to topple over and fly over the group's heads before landing on their suitcases.
Everyone grimaced as they saw a suitcase fly through the air before landing in the water, soaking Heather in the process, "Excellent landing!" mocked Chris.
The boy gives a thumbs up from under the batteries.
The host chuckled at the whole mess, and hearing the popular girl soaked only made it better.
Before he could comment further, he heard a heavy sigh interrupt him, looking behind him to see a nerd with some kind of keyboard.
"Um... Welcome to camp, Harold," Chris said, forcing a smile while thinking he was creepy for breathing so hard on her neck.
Harold stared at Chris.
He was already uncomfortable around him, but this nerd is really starting to scare him.
"Um... What are you looking at?" Beth asked the campers, only to get shrugs and a few shivers. Chris hopes Harold isn't looking at him.
"Is this the kind of show this horrible summer camp is?" Harold questioned Chris, a nod was his response.
"YES! That's more favorable for my mad skills" Harold said happily
"Masturbating multiple times a day isn't a skill," Duncan muttered under his breath, causing several of the campers to laugh.
They moved away a little when the boy joined them.
And the next contestant arrived, who was Trent.
"And now contestant number ten, Trent!" said Chris.
"Hey Chris, I just saw you on that figure skating show, good job" Trent said amused to see Chris
"Thanks! I know I'm great at this show!" Chris boasted as he fist-bumped with the musician.
"I saw that." Beth raised her hand, calling everyone's attention. "One of the contestants dropped their partner on their head and won immunity this week."
"Lucky me! I wish they'd let me fall on my head," said Harold.
No one commented on that. The boy was weird.
Trent joined the others, taking his place next to Gwen to give her a smile, causing the goth girl to snort and step away from him.
"Hey! What's up?" The next camper was a surfer girl walking up to Chris with an orange board over her shoulder, Bridgette
"All right! Our surfer girl, Bridgette, is here," Chris said.
"Yeah, nice board..." Duncan mocked. "It's not Malibu, honey."
"I thought we were going to be at the beach," Bridgette questioned.
The presenter nonchalantly pointed at the polluted beach with a smile, "We're in one!"
"Great..." Bridgette looked disappointed by what she saw, resigned she took her board and picked up her bag, without realizing that she had just hit the host in the head with her board.
"Oh, damn sea! That hurt!" the presenter groaned, rubbing his aching head; he had paid too much for that face.
"Hi, I'm Geoff!" Geoff greeted Bridgette with enthusiasm in his tone as Bridgette turned to him, balancing the board. He was lucky the boys ducked underneath him.
"Watch the board!" Harold complained.
"Hi, I'm Beth!" the farmer greeted as the campers ducked down again.
"Hello everyone, it's a pleasure" said Bridgette
"Okay, now we meet the surfer girl... Can we get on with the show?" Heather groaned, twisting her hair, causing the water to drip out.
"Did anyone miss their double cappuccino macchiato this morning?" Duncan commented, making Harold laugh.
"You better get your ass back to juvie, you idiot," Heather responded sarcastically.
"Our..." Chris grimaced as he touched his head, he'd simply missed something the campers were talking about and hoped someone would catch it on camera, "Our next camper is Noah."
"Did you get my memo about my allergies?" Noah, the bookworm, asked seriously to the host, who shrugged indifferently.
"I'm sure someone did it," Chris replied with some mockery.
"Wonderful..." Noah muttered sarcastically, "Is that where we'll be staying?"
"No, this is your mom's house, and we're having a party." Duncan pounded his fist against his hand; this guy was begging for a good beating.
"Nice comment, nice piercings too, very original. Did you do it yourself?" Noah deadpanned before Duncan cupped his lips in his hand.
"Yeah, do you want one?" Duncan replied.
"No, thank you... Can I have my lips back, please?" Duncan let him go with a smile, "Thank you..."
"What's up, everyone! Leshawna's in the house!" They all look up to see a teenage girl of color greeting them all, not hearing how shocked Harold looked for some reason, "Hey baby, how you doing?" She high-fived Chris, "Feel free to quit now and save yourselves the trouble." She joked around with the campers as the campers laughed, the girl had charisma, "Gimme sugar, bruv!" Leshawna raised her hand to DJ as he high-fived back.
"I've never seen a girl like you in my life!" Harold said without mincing his words.
Although all of Leshawna's friendliness went to hell, because of the nerd's comment that made the brunette teenager give him a hard look.
"Excuse me?" Leshawna said.
"You're too big and loud!" Harold added fuel to the fire unintentionally.
"What do you want to tell me?" Leshawna replied.
Everyone grimaced as Leshawna yelled at Harold before Bridgette and DJ stopped her.
"Hehehe, we have a drama going on," Chris gets excited about how the girl wanted to beat the other guy up.
That aside, the boat's horn is heard.
Chris approaches two new campers in matching clothes: "Ladies! Katie, Sadie! Welcome to your new home for eight weeks!"
"Oh my God! Look! It's summer camp!" Katie said.
"I always wanted to go to summer camp!" said Sadie.
"AHHHHHHHH!" the girls screamed
"Who are Katie and Sadie?" I ask confused DJ asked Trent.
"...I'm not sure..." Chris replied with a shrug.
The next to arrive was the boy raised at home by a crazy family, Ezekiel
"Ezekiel, what are you talking about?" Chris asks, seeing what he was getting from this camper.
"I think I saw a bird," Ezekiel replied, making Chris think that maybe it wasn't his best idea to put him on the show.
"Okay, listen, I know you don't go out much, that you were homeschooled most of your life, raised by crazy peasants, don't talk too much and try not to get eliminated too quickly, okay?" Chris spoke more seriously to the boy.
"Ok sir" Ezekiel responded without fully understanding.
While the boys were surprised just looking at him.
Changing the scene, Cody was told that he was about to arrive at camp so he could get ready.
Cody could see Chris and the campers across the dock, so he started his song, preparing for a grand entrance.
Returning to Chris, he stands on the dock, smiling amusedly as he waits for the next arrival.
"Our next competitor has more presence than 90% of the ones who have passed through here! Prepare for... Cody!" said Chris.
The boat is approaching at full speed, but Cody doesn't wait for it to come to a complete stop.
The yacht was approaching at full speed, but Cody thought it would be interesting not to wait.
With one agile movement, he jumps from the top of the yacht, performing an acrobatic spin in the air before landing perfectly on the dock.
The contestants look at him in surprise at his entrance, which is clearly shocking.
Lindsay sighs, clearly impressed.
Heather raises an eyebrow, analyzing him with more interest than expected.
Gwen just crosses her arms, but it's obvious she noticed what he did.
Bridgette looked at Cody's good figure
Chris whistled in surprise
"Well, well, looks like we have someone who knows how to make an entrance." Chris said, happy that there was a show for his program.
Cody, with a relaxed smile, runs a hand through his hair and answers confidently,
"I'm just trying to live up to the show, Chris." Cody replied.
The boys look at him with a mixture of respect and defiance. Duncan smiles with interest, assessing him as potential competition.
Cody turns to the other contestants and with a completely
"Well, since we're here, who wants to lose to me in the first challenge?" Cody joked as he looked at the group.
Now before moving forward, Cody decided to extend his hand to Chris
"First of all, it's a pleasure to meet you Chris, I've always been a fan," Cody said with the intention of having Chris greet him.
"Hey, it's always a pleasure to hear others talk about how great I am," Chris responded, happy to have flatterers.
AAAH-BZZZT! That's what was heard.
"Looks like my bear scarer is working," Cody said, showing a button in his hand to the kids, who couldn't stop laughing when they saw Chris twitching on the floor.
"They don't pay me enough," Chris stood up, silencing the campers.
Looking around the camp and the campers, Cody reflected that he was finally here.
He approached with a relaxed smile to greet the first ones he saw, Lindsay, Leshawna and Bridgette.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Cody." Cody said with a confident voice, extending his hand.
Before offering the handshake, he slightly opens his palm, showing that he no longer has the safety button on his shirt, ensuring that everything is spotless.
Lindsay smiles immediately, clearly delighted by Cody's presence.
"Hi, I'm Lindsay and I liked your post." Lindsay replied.
"A pleasure, and I must say I love your style. You definitely know how to make a first impression last." Cody said with a playful look when he saw Lindsay.
Without losing her elegance, she takes his hand and places a light kiss on the back of it, without exaggerating or making him feel uncomfortable.
Lindsay is surprised by the gesture, blushing as she gives a small laugh.
Leshawna watches the scene with her arms crossed and an amused smile.
"Wow, boy, you came in strong. I didn't expect you to be such a Romeo," Leshawna said.
"I'm just trying to live up to what they deserve. And with you, Leshawna, I know I have to bring my A game." Cody responded in a calm but direct tone.
Leshawna raises an eyebrow in approval, patting him on the shoulder.
"I like your attitude. Let's see if you can keep it up when the challenge starts," Leshawna replied.
Bridgette laughs at the way Cody is handling his entrance.
"Well, you have style, I can't deny it," Bridgette said.
"They say you can't buy style, but if they sold yours, I think there'd be a line," Cody said with a smile.
Bridgette shakes her head in amusement, accepting the compliment without problem.
Cody proceeded to greet the others, nodding to Duncan, smiling to Gwen and Heather. Then he stood next to Noah and waited for the others.
Most of the campers gulped at the sight of a teenage girl with a bulging, defined physique, clearly a strong girl with a rather unfriendly face.
"Eva! Nice to see you here!" The bodybuilder ignored her host and walked toward the trailer with a frown. Cody decided to high-five her, only to have her shove her bag over his feet.
"What's inside? Weights?" Cody asked, holding the bag so it wouldn't crush him, surprising Eva that he was able to lift it.
"Yes" said Eve
Wisely no one asked any more questions, she didn't seem like the patient type of woman.
More than one raised an eyebrow upon hearing a scream, they all saw a big boy, one who easily weighed more than two or three of them together, Owen
"WOO-HOOOOO! Chris, what's going on, dude! This is amazing! WOO-HOOO!" Owen said.
"Owen, welcome!" Chris greeted, only to be cut off as he was grabbed in a bear hug.
"How awesome to be here, man!" Owen tightened his hug, "Yeah, man, that's so..." Owen paused, trying to figure out what to say.
"Impressive?" Gwen was striking to him, he looked like the typical cheerful fat boy who would be hard to hate.
"YES! Awesome! WOO-HOOO! Are you going to be on my team?" Owen said excitedly.
"Oh, I sure hope so." Gwen muttered sarcastically, rolling her eyes.
"WOOOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Owen's expression was very energetic.
"Are you almost done?" Chris looked at Owen before the big boy put him back down, "Just in time to see Courtney." He pointed at the boat with said girl waving at the group.
Cody looked at her thinking that she was prettier than he expected, Noah noticed that look
"Thank you." Courtney takes Chris's hand and steps down before addressing the group, "Hi, you must be the other contestants. It's nice to meet you all."
"Nice to meet you, I'm Owen!" He grabbed Courtney's hand and shook it in excitement.
"It's a pleasure to meet you too... wow..." He stopped, his jaw dropping at the approaching camper. Everyone was amazed because the camper was really handsome and could pass for a supermodel.
Some of the boys rolled their eyes, the pretty boy, there always had to be one in every group.
"This is Justin," Chris introduced him to the group, "Just so you know, we only chose you based on your looks."
Justin sounds to him, unconcerned about the reason for his choice, "I can live with that" walking towards the others, the boat's horn sounded once more.
"Everyone welcome Izzy!" Chris barely had time to introduce her when she unexpectedly jumped into an acrobatic spin, which ended with her hitting her face on the dock, "Oh... you had to wait for the boat to cover, girl."
"Ow! That was a nasty fall!" Tyler laughed, only to be silenced by Courtney's harsh glare as she ran towards the orange-haired girl, followed by Cody who wanted to help her.
"Are you okay?" Court asked, watching Izzy shake her head.
"Yeah, that felt so good... besides hitting my chin," Courtney replied.
"Uh... yeah, maybe you'll get a bruise or not" Courtney looked worriedly at the teenager, not many could have a fall like that and just get up as if nothing happened.
"Mhe! You should have seen how I looked when I fell off some stairs trying to use a parachute sheet," Izzi said.
"So... Why would you do that?" Cody asked curiously.
"If squirrels can fall in style! So can I!" Izzy replied.
"Okay, where do these kids come from?" Chris thought about these teenagers, shaking his head.
Chris, seeing the boys mingle with the others, would see how far they had come in this program, "All right, everyone, listen up! First, we need to get a group photo for a promotion... Everyone to the end of this pier!"
With that, the campers gather at the end of the dock and take up their positions, Cody raised an eyebrow when he felt someone climb on his back, looking up he saw a cheerful Izzy.
"Hey, strongman! I hope you don't mind."
"Of course not" Cody replied with a smile
Who would complain about feeling a beautiful girl's thighs around their neck? Cody thought.
"Okay, one... two... Whoa, forget the lens cap. Now hold that pose... Wait, card full!" Chris said.
"Oh, come on!" Leshawna mumbled, "My face is starting to go numb."
"Everyone says 'Wawanakwa'!" It was Chris
"Wawanaka... WOW!" They all screamed as the dock broke, sending them into the water.
"Okay, guys, dry off and meet at the campfire in 10 minutes," Chris said, laughing.
