Chapter 148: Woman, You Started This Fire, You Put It Out

Naruko's embrace was warm and solid, carrying a clean scent like sunshine.

Sasuko leaned on her shoulder as tightly wound nerves gradually relaxed. Her nose filled with faint soap fragrance mixed with a trace of instant ramen—this ordinary living scent unexpectedly brought reassurance.

"Naruko..."

"Though a crying Sasuko is also cute," Naruko gently patted her back, "I still prefer the usual Sasuko who acts all cool."

Sasuko suppressed her choking, protesting in a muffled voice. "I'm not acting cool."

"Okay, okay, you say you're not so you're not." Naruko went along with her words, tone gentle. "Hungry? I can give you my instant ramen? Though... it might not taste great."

Sasuko shook her head, voice still carrying post-crying nasality. "Not hungry."

Naruko thought briefly before pulling her up. "Then wash your face first—your eyes are all swollen."

In the bathroom, Sasuko gazed at her reflection—eyes red and swollen, hair disheveled and clinging to her cheeks. Truly a mess.

She gently splashed her face with cold water, ice-cold droplets bringing momentary clarity.

Naruko leaned against the doorframe, timely offering a clean towel.

"Thank you."

"What's with the formality between us? We're sisters." Naruko's eyes curved in a smile.

Freshly washed Sasuko emerged from the bathroom, damp black hair making her skin appear even more fair.

Those usually cool black eyes still showed slight redness, eye corners carrying shallow crimson like early spring cherry blossoms.

Water droplets slid along her delicate cheeks. Her whole person radiated a vulnerable beauty after washing away pretense, touching and pitiful.

Naruko's eyes brightened. "If I were a guy, I'd definitely fall for Sasuko at first sight."

Sasuko's cheeks immediately flew with two patches of red cloud as she glared reproachfully.

This glance not only failed to make Naruko restrain herself but instead aroused her playful spirit.

She deliberately affected an exaggerated lecherous expression. This appearance on her pure, adorable face seemed particularly incongruous yet amusing.

Naruko approached grinning, fingertip lightly lifting a strand of Sasuko's black hair. "Such a pretty young lady crying with ruined makeup—what a waste~ Come, let big sister properly cherish you~" Rarely seeing Sasuko in such a soft, cute state, she couldn't help teasing further.

Sasuko was coaxed into suppressing a light laugh, faint blush rising on her cheeks. She extended her hand to block Naruko's increasingly close shoulder. "Stop fooling around."

Not only did Naruko not retreat, she grew bolder. Slender fingers quietly slid to Sasuko's hem, fingertips barely brushing the skin at her waist. That gentle sensation made Sasuko tremble lightly.

"Really don't want?" Naruko blinked while her other hand caressed Sasuko's long hair, carefully combing through her scattered strands.

Tingling numbness spread from her waist. Naruko's breath was right before her, carrying her unique sweetness.

"You..." Sasuko just opened her mouth when Naruko gently pressed her lips with an index finger.

"Shh—" Naruko's eyes appeared especially bright under the light. She deliberately lowered her voice, imitating domineering male leads from trashy novels. "Woman, you started this fire. You put it out." She even deliberately struck a pose she considered very handsome.

Sasuko finally couldn't hold back.

She narrowed her eyes slightly, lips curving in a dangerous arc. "Fine."

Before Naruko could react, Sasuko had already turned the tables, pressing her down onto the sofa behind them.

Naruko let out a delicate cry, her whole person sinking into soft cushions. Sasuko leaned down, black hair cascading like a waterfall, lightly sweeping across Naruko's cheek.

"Wait, wait..." Only now did Naruko realize she'd played with fire too much. She tried to rise but was firmly held down by Sasuko at the wrists.

Sasuko leaned close, warm breath brushing past Naruko's ear. "Wait for what? I'm here to put out the fire."

Before her words finished, her fingertips had already lightly entered Naruko's hem, slowly traveling along the delicate skin at her waist. That touch was like feather-light sweeping yet carried some warmth.

Naruko couldn't help trembling lightly. She tried to dodge but was gently pinned down by Sasuko's knee on her skirt.

"This place seems quite... hmm?" Sasuko said in a low voice, palm already covering Naruko's abdomen, fingertip tracing circles on that flat surface. Her other hand wasn't idle either, following along Naruko's spine upward, pausing briefly at each vertebra, causing the person beneath to shiver repeatedly.

Naruko bit her lower lip, attempting to push away that mischievous hand but was countered by Sasuko lacing their fingers and pressing them into the sofa cushions. Sasuko's long hair hung down, sweeping across her collarbone, bringing waves of fine itching.

"Don't..." Naruko just opened her mouth when she felt Sasuko's lips nearly touch her earlobe.

"Weren't you quite good at flirting just now?" Sasuko's voice carried teasing. Her free hand had already reached Naruko's nape, gently kneading that patch of delicate skin. Wherever fingertips passed aroused fine trembling.

Naruko's whole person was enveloped in Sasuko's presence, clearly feeling the other's soft body barely touching herself through clothing. Sasuko's knee inadvertently pressed between her legs, leaving her unable to move.

"I was wrong..." Naruko's voice already carried pleading. "Lady Sasuko, spare my life..."

Only then did Sasuko retreat slightly yet still maintained the position of trapping Naruko beneath her. She extended her hand to lightly caress Naruko's flushed cheek.

"Now you know to beg for mercy?" Her voice was gentle as murmuring, yet fingertips remained restlessly stroking the inside of Naruko's wrist. "Is the fire out?"

Naruko could only shake her head, then nod, breathing so disordered she couldn't speak complete sentences.

Sasuko watched her appearance and finally laughed lightly while releasing her restraint, using fingers to comb through Naruko's disheveled hair.

This little blonde—give her a bit of kindness and she started talking big. When actually getting physical, she called for mercy after just a few moves.

Naruko collapsed on the sofa breathing slightly heavily, golden hair messily stuck to her sweat-dampened forehead. Her collar had slipped off her shoulder during the earlier tussling, revealing beautifully lined collarbones. Those azure eyes were covered with a thin layer of mist like the sky after rain.

As breathing gradually calmed, she lightly tucked scattered hair strands behind her ear, pretending anger as she glared at Sasuko.

"It was just a joke," she complained softly while straightening wrinkled hem. "Good thing we're both girls, otherwise that was basically harassment just now."

After arranging her clothing properly, she deliberately kept a straight face yet couldn't hide the lingering smile at her eye corners. "Sasuko really can't take a joke."

Sasuko shook her head helplessly, reaching out to help straighten her crooked collar. "Isn't it because you always say things that make people angry? Plus your mouth is tougher than your body."

Naruko stopped her movements, hands on hips, unconvinced as she raised her chin. "I was letting you win! Don't forget, I'm a jonin now and even your superior."

"Oh?" Sasuko raised an eyebrow. "Then Lady Naruko, shall we go another round?"

Recalling Sasuko's earlier moves specifically targeting ticklish spots, Naruko instinctively shrank her neck. Yet her mouth refused to admit defeat. "Forget it, Lady Naruko will spare you this time."

Watching her bluffing appearance, the gloom in Sasuko's heart gradually dispersed.

Her lips curved slightly upward as she extended her hand toward Naruko.

Naruko thought she was about to repeat her tricks and hastily protected her waist, only to see Sasuko merely gently smoothing the wrinkles on her clothes, straightening her disheveled collar.

...

uhhhhhhhhhh hmmmmm I don't know if this gonna turn Yuri or something....but I'll probably drop this FIC if it is going in that direction....
