Chapter 1 - The Raven’s Curse

A Gothic Novel Inspired by Wednesday Addams.

Chapter 1 – The Black Expulsion

The gymnasium smelled of chlorine and cheap perfume when Wednesday Ebon—black-braided, pale-skinned, and utterly unimpressed—released her surprise.

Two hundred ravens, summoned by the scratch of her violin bow, exploded through the air like a living storm. They screeched, tore down the banners of school spirit, and sent cheerleaders shrieking into the pool.

Wednesday only raised an eyebrow. Art requires sacrifice.

By evening, she was expelled. Her parents—stoic, elegant, and disturbingly proud—delivered the news over dinner.

"You've outgrown ordinary schools," her mother said, sipping red wine that might not have been wine at all. "It is time for something… more suitable."

Her father grinned. "Nevermoor Academy. A place for children with peculiar gifts. You'll thrive there, my little nightshade."

Wednesday didn't smile. She rarely did. But inside, she burned with curiosity.

Chapter 2 – The Gates of Nevermoor

The carriage rolled through endless pine forests until the gates appeared—iron twisted into the shape of screaming faces. Behind them, a fortress of stone and shadows loomed.

Nevermoor Academy was less a school than a mausoleum dressed as one. Its windows flickered with ghostlight. Crows lined the battlements like watchmen.

The headmistress, Madame Corvina, waited in a gown of midnight feathers. Her eyes, sharp and unblinking, pinned Wednesday to the spot. "Here, secrets are currency," Corvina said. "Spend them wisely, Miss Ebon. Or they will spend you."

Chapter 3 – Light and Dark

Wednesday was assigned a roommate. Lyra Moon. Blond, radiant, annoyingly cheerful. Her gift: bending light into shapes.

When she extended her hand, a butterfly of pure sunlight perched on her palm. Wednesday stared at it until it melted into sparks.

"You're welcome," Lyra chirped.

"I was enjoying the silence," Wednesday replied.

Thus began a rivalry destined to become something more complicated.

Chapter 4 – The First Vision

That night, Wednesday dreamed—or perhaps didn't.

She stood in the forest. A raven bled from its eyes, its wings broken. Behind it, a tall, faceless figure raised a claw dripping with fire.

When Wednesday awoke, the window was open. A single black feather rested on her pillow.

Chapter 5 – Lessons in Shadows

Classes at Nevermoor were nothing like ordinary ones. Professor Nocturne taught the manipulation of shadows. Students struggled to make theirs twitch.Wednesday's shadow rose from the ground, sharp and alive, its hands reaching for the ceiling. The others backed away.

"She is cursed," someone whispered.

Wednesday allowed herself the faintest smile.

Chapter 6 – A Student Vanishes

Two days later, a boy named Elias never returned from the woods. The teachers claimed wolves.

But Wednesday had seen the claw marks on the trees—too deep, too deliberate. Something hunted inside the forest, and it wasn't wolves.

Chapter 7 – The Forbidden Library

Ignoring curfew, Wednesday crept into the locked library. Shelves stretched like a cathedral. In the dust, she found a journal—its cover scratched with the words: Beware the Hollow One.The last page ended mid-sentence, as if the writer had been dragged away mid-thought.

Chapter 8 – Watching the Watcher

Wednesday began tracking Madame Corvina. The headmistress often disappeared into the forest at night. Once, Wednesday glimpsed her standing among the trees, speaking to something that did not breathe.

Chapter 9 – Masks and Shadows

The annual Masquerade Ball glittered with chandeliers and enchanted music. Wednesday wore black lace; Lyra wore gold silk. When the candles flickered out, Wednesday's vision struck again: a masked figure choking a student. The lights returned. A boy was missing.

Chapter 10 – The Hollow One

In the forest, Wednesday and Lyra found it: a monstrous being, faceless, hollow-chested, glowing like embers inside. Its roar shook the trees.Lyra screamed. Wednesday only whispered: "Beautiful."

Chapter 11 – A Friend's Betrayal

Wednesday confided in Victor Graves, a brooding boy with storm-colored eyes. Later, she discovered he had told Madame Corvina everything.Betrayal, Wednesday thought, was an art form. He lacked finesse.

Chapter 12 – The Blood Moon

The Blood Moon rose red as a wound. That night, the Hollow One attacked the Academy gates. Students panicked. Wednesday stood firm, her raven familiar circling overhead.

The visions weren't curses. They were warnings.

Chapter 13 – The Raven's Curse

In the hidden journal, Wednesday uncovered the truth: centuries ago, her ancestor had bound the Hollow One here. The curse flowed in her blood. It wasn't following her. It was waiting for her.

Chapter 14 – Lyra Taken

Lyra vanished. Her golden scarf was found torn at the forest edge. For the first time, Wednesday felt something unfamiliar—fear for another.

Chapter 15 – Into the Hollow Woods

Alone, she entered the cursed forest. Phantoms whispered her name. Shadows clawed her mind. At the forest's heart, the Hollow One waited, Lyra bound in thorns of fire.

Chapter 16 – Truth and Treachery

Madame Corvina appeared, confessing: she had tried to control the Hollow One, to use it as Nevermoor's guardian. But the creature was beyond control. The monster turned on her.

Chapter 17 – The Raven Rises

Wednesday's visions merged with reality. Black wings tore from her shadow. Her raven familiar fused with her spirit.

For the first time, she embraced her curse. She became the storm. The Hollow One fell, shattered into ash.

Chapter 18 – What Lurks Beneath

The Academy was saved, but Wednesday found no comfort. Beneath the school, she discovered caverns filled with bones—creatures older than the Hollow One.

Nevermoor wasn't a sanctuary. It was a prison. And Wednesday knew prisons never stay locked forever👁️👁️.
