Chapter 46 - Third Broadcast: Heaven’s Chosen Secret Part Two - 01

Within the broadcast screen, Wei Chen was sitting on a simple wooden stool inside an ancient stone hall. The hall was vast, filled with murals and ancient text surrounding him.

"Hello, what's up, brothers and sisters? I am Wei Chen." Wei Chen opened the broadcast with his iconic line, then continued,

"Most of you must already know who I am, but in short, I am both a vagabond and an adventurer, and a seeker of truth." He then turned toward the murals behind him.

"Today, I'm in a very special place, one that holds evidence related to the topic I'm going to talk about today… the Heaven's Chosen." The camera panned from the murals to Wei Chen.

"All of you might be wondering where I am. Is it a secret realm? Or perhaps some ruin in a desolate area? The answer is… it's neither!" Wei Chen paused, then stood up and walked out of the stone hall toward the long balcony outside.

The balcony revealed the view beyond, and the camera shifted from Wei Chen to the vast scenery.

Like a drone camera, it flew out from the balcony into the sky above, revealing the grand structure where Wei Chen stood. It was a massive stone complex, about the same size as the Great Pyramid of Giza, no…. perhaps even larger. Its architecture was reminiscent of an ancient Chinese temple carved entirely from a black stone mountain.

The camera panned again to show the landscape surrounding the massive structure.

The land was a wasteland of darkness and desolation. Crumbling human remains and bones were scattered across the barren ground. The dead, withered trees showed no signs of life in this forsaken place.

Some areas of the land still bore the marks of ancient battles. Red molten craters dotted the surface, perhaps caused by devastating strikes or massive earth shifts that occurred long ago.

In this realm, there was only death and desolation. Even wild grass could not survive here.

"What… what kind of place is this?" Mo Xingyao murmured when she saw the desolate scene on the screen. She remembered that yesterday, Wei Chen had been sleeping safely, yet now he appeared in this wasteland. How had he gotten there so fast!?

"This… could it be the Desolation Secret Realm?" Mo Jue spoke the name in disbelief.

Meanwhile, aboard the luxurious flying ark of the Ximen Clan, Ximen Hao sat leisurely on a couch, watching the broadcast from his U-Phone in his private chamber. Beside him, a gorgeous woman served him wine and fed him grapes with a coquettish smile.

"Oh? Interesting. What kind of place is that?" Ximen Hao said with growing curiosity.

In the chat box, the comment section became lively as countless messages poured in. Since this third broadcast came after the distribution of the U-Phone, many new faces appeared in the chat.

Dream Butterfly: [Where is this place? It looks like a battlefield!]

Old Man Who Likes History: [This… this kind of structure… could it be true? The Primordial Ruins are real!? Unbelievable! Where is this place?]

Ethereal Snow: [What are the Primordial Ruins? May elder enlighten this little girl?]

Old Man Who Likes History: [The Primordial Ruins, as the name suggests, are ruins from the primordial era when the first immortals were born. Many things were lost during that time, but one thing is certain! Compared to the present, the power and civilization of that era were like comparing Mount Tai to a molehill. Countless secrets and knowledge were lost due to endless wars and the fall of many civilizations.]

Sky-Severing Demon: [So basically, other than knowing it's old and powerful, you don't know anything else.]

Handsome Tall and Rich: [Hahahaha! Someone took the words right out of my mouth!]

Old Man Who Likes History: […]

At the patient ward in The Thousand Treasure Pavilion, Mo Xingyao lightly slapped her father's wrist in admonishment making the U-Phone in his hand drop to the ground.

"Father! Why do you always offend people like this? Don't you already have enough enemies!?" Mo Xingyao scolded.

"But it's the truth!" Mo Jue protested.

On the screen, Wei Chen continued speaking. His voice was accompanied by a high-angle camera view, like a drone showing the scenery around the area.

"The 'Old Man Who Likes History' is correct. This place is the Primordial Ruin."

With that confirmation, the audience watching the broadcast screen erupted into a clamor. If what "Old Man Who Likes History" had said was true, then what did the Primordial Ruin represent?

Heaven-defying techniques! Rare and exotic resources! One-of-a-kind heaven and earth treasures! These were the things that stirred greed in the hearts of people all around the world.

As if sensing their thoughts, Wei Chen chuckled and continued,

"I know what you're thinking, but unfortunately, even though this is the Primordial Ruin, aside from its historical value, this place has nothing useful."

Azure Sky Elder: [Hmph! You're lying! You want to keep this place to yourself, don't you?]

Heavenly Eyes: [The one with the surname Wei! I advise you to tell us where this is, or you won't be able to bear the wrath of the Heaven!]

The Wise King: [This treasure land should belong to the virtuous! Whoever is the most virtuous should take control of this place to ensure it doesn't fall into wicked hands!]

Sky-Severing Demon: [Ha! A bunch of hypocrites pretending not to be greedy!]

Drinking Till Dawn: [Would be nice to have a drink there. I've never had a drink in a Primordial Ruin before.]

Seeing the flood of comments, Wei Chen continued as the camera kept showing the scenery of the ruin from above. Several sinkholes and missing sections of earth looked like gaps in a jigsaw puzzle, revealing red molten lava beneath.

"I'm not lying. The reason this place is like this is that it is the Desolate Primordial Secret Realm. All of its resources and spiritual qi were destroyed by the wars and conflicts long ago. This realm holds only historical value and nothing more. It is the best-preserved historical ruin I have found."

Wei Chen's voice accompanied the broadcasting orb as it flew around, giving the audience a clear view of how barren and lifeless the place was. This round of footage managed to convince some people, though many greedy viewers still remained skeptical.

The camera then descended and returned its focus to Wei Chen.

"The reason I brought you all here today," Wei Chen said, "is to present evidence of the existence of the Heaven's Chosen, so that you can avoid offending one. I hope this will help those who enjoy picking fights with poor men, so-called trash who can't cultivate, or fallen geniuses to think twice before doing so."

After speaking, Wei Chen walked back into the large stone hall, the same place where he had started the broadcast.

"Before we start, let's recall what we know about the Heaven's Chosen, shall we?" Wei Chen began.

"So… what is the Heaven's Chosen? There are many descriptions of the Heaven's Chosen, whether it's a genius born once in a millennium, someone with a special fate destined to dominate the realm, or one blessed with great luck." Wei Chen paused.

"But for me, my definition of the Heaven's Chosen is someone with an extremely strong fate, carrying the destiny of heaven itself to rise above all. Their actions influence the masses and even the world itself, while the heavens bend their laws and destiny to help them achieve greatness."

"In simpler terms," Wei Chen paused. "If heaven's destiny were a book, then the Heaven's Chosen would be the protagonist of that book, someone who will never perish or stray from their path until…. the story ends," Wei Chen said in a solemn tone.

Hearing this, many in the audience couldn't help but swallow hard. If this was true, then offending a Heaven's Chosen would surely be the fastest way to one's demise!

Jian Heng, who was staying in the Frozen Hall, watched the broadcast with a smile.

"If this is true…" he murmured, then looked toward the Eternal Ice where his lover, Su Yurong, resided. "My book hasn't ended yet. I still need to help her."

Jian Heng let out a bright smile. His burden and worry of many years lightened, knowing that even heaven might aid him in his quest to rescue his lover. As for his role in the story, he did not know yet; he could only move forward and do his best.

Meanwhile, aboard the Ximen Clan flying ark, Ximen Hao's eyes suddenly grew sharp as he listened to the broadcast. He repeatedly tapped his finger on the armrest, thinking, then spoke.

"Number One." At this command, a man in black soft armor appeared beside Ximen Hao.

"What is your wish, Young Master?" the man asked.

"Do you remember that trash whose lover I took?" Ximen Hao asked.

"Yes, Young Master. I remember him," the shadow guard replied.

"Bring Number Two and Number Three with you. Find him and kill him. Do not underestimate him," Ximen Hao ordered in a solemn tone.

"But… Young Master, he was only a mortal who cannot cultivate. I do not think—" the shadow guard began, confused; usually his Young Master did not bother with such trash.

"Do as I say," Ximen Hao snapped, his tone sharp and absolute.

"Yes, Young Master. It will be done!" the shadow guard bowed, then disappeared.
