"What did you just say?" Rebecca asked incredulously at those words.
Victor tried to calm his wife and listen carefully to the agent, but it was certainly impossible, since his daughter had lied to him.
Jonathan looked at Hallie and asked, "What did you do?"
"Huh?" Hallie didn't know what Jonathan was talking about; a vague idea came to mind, but the possibilities were nonexistent.
"What is she talking about, Hallie?"
"I don't know, Mom."
Jonathan nodded slightly with a strange smile on his face and said while taking a pill to relax his muscles, "I understand. We've come to the moment where I explain everything, while those responsible don't have the slightest idea about the big shit they're involved in."
"Hey, I'll ask you to speak more respectfully—you're in my house and you're talking to my daughter." Victor, as a protective father, confronted Jonathan immediately.
"Your daughter summoned a supernatural being that, by the way, took your friend Katie Jensen—she should be dead right now. All of this comes from the video you watched, and the next one is your daughter, so don't tell me how to behave." Jonathan leaned back to better watch the scene that would unfold next.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Rebecca thought Jonathan was crazy.
All of this was absurd—who in their right mind would think dark entities from the movies actually exist?
But Jonathan, as a regent, understood this and there were a hundred different ways to prove them wrong, so he said, "My name is Jonathan Belmont. I'm assigned to The Order's department for eliminating dark entities. Your case is now classified as category five; all your privileges as civilians are revoked, and, unfortunately for you, your lives are in my hands."
At that moment the agents outside entered one by one; each of them carried high-caliber weapons to search the house.
"Mom!"
"Daughter!" Rebecca ran to get her daughter.
Victor approached Jonathan and asked threateningly, "What is all this?"
"Where did they summon it?" Jonathan asked instead, looking at Hallie, who was paralyzed with fear.
"At my friend's house."
Jonathan stood up and, showing her photographs of all her friends, asked, "Which one of them?"
"That one."
"Wren. Now tell me which ones were involved." Jonathan said, showing her all the photos of her friends.
They were selected one by one; Victor wanted to say something but remained silent.
Everything seemed insane to him.
When all the girls had been identified, Jonathan looked at Victor and said, "Your family will be transferred to a safe house where they will be protected by government agents. Unfortunately, your daughter will come with me."
"Why do you need her?"
"To hunt the demon." Jonathan said, his eyes glowing faintly with an orange hue.
At that moment the police arrived. Victor thought they would be taken out of this illogical mess, but to his misfortune the police were the ones who would take his family to the shelter.
"Say goodbye to your family; you have five minutes." Jonathan looked at Hallie, who nodded quickly.
She understood little about what was happening, but if these people truly knew more than they did, they had a way to stop it.
Wednesday, who had witnessed everything, asked, "Was it necessary to mention you were with the FBI before all this?"
"We have to earn their trust before making any other move. You'll learn that when you're assigned a category-1 case."
"You underestimate me."
