The sound came from a long way off. It started as a faint whisper and grew louder with every passing second until the last word was spoken. As the voice faded, a bright golden figure appeared in the sky like a ghost.
This person stopped right at the edge of the thick, dark green poisonous mist that covered the battlefield. The man was wearing shiny golden armor. He had a very handsome face and skin so smooth it looked like a woman's.
This was the famous Chrysanthemum Douluo, Yue Guan. He stood high in the air, and nine spirit rings circled his body. There were two yellow, two purple, and five black rings.
They glowed with a strong light that showed everyone he was a Titled Douluo. The pressure coming from him was heavy and powerful. It pushed back against the green mist created by Dugu Bo.
Yue Guan let out a cold laugh. He moved his hands together in front of his chest. Suddenly, his fifth spirit ring began to glow brightly. He called out his fifth spirit ability, Gathering of Cold Essence.
In an instant, the air was filled with thousands of golden petals from his spirit, the Qirong Tongtian Chrysanthemum. These petals looked like they were made of metal and had edges as sharp as knives.
They didn't just fly into the poison. Instead, they moved like a giant swarm of bees. They started spinning around the green mist at a very high speed. As they rubbed against the air and the mist, they made a loud, whistling sound that hurt the ears.
A huge tornado made of golden petals began to form. It started wide but quickly began to shrink. Yue Guan wanted to use the wind and the sharp petals to trap Dugu Bo inside. He knew that Dugu Bo's poison was very dangerous, so he did not want to get too close.
By staying back and using this tornado, he could slowly wear Dugu Bo down. The sharp petals sliced through the green gas, making a hissing noise as the golden light and the green poison destroyed each other.
Dugu Bo snorted when he saw this. He looked at his old enemy and did not feel any fear. He shouted at Yue Guan, calling him an unmanly fellow and asking if he really thought he could kill him. The green mist around Dugu Bo became even thicker and started to swirl violently. With a wave of his hand, the poison changed shape.
It turned into several giant dark green dragons. These dragons roared and smashed into the golden petal tornado. The fight between the two Titled Douluo became even more intense. In the sky, the gold and green colors crashed into each other over and over.
Every time they hit, a huge wave of spirit power exploded outward. These waves were so strong they tore up the ground below. The Royal Knights and the men in black who were still nearby had to run away as fast as they could to avoid being crushed by the shockwaves.
Inside the carriage, Ning Fengzhi and Sword Douluo Chen Xin looked very serious. The fact that Yue Guan was here meant that Spirit Hall was using their strongest fighters, the Elders, for this ambush. This was not a small fight to scare them.
This was a battle where people were meant to die. While everyone was watching the fight in the sky, a dark and blurry shadow was moving quietly along the ground. It was like a ghost hiding in the darkness, and it was heading straight for the carriage.
Suddenly, the light around the carriage seemed to vanish. The air turned freezing cold. A chilly wind started to blow, and hundreds of pale, ghostly shapes appeared. They wailed like sad spirits and reached out with thin, white arms to grab the carriage.
This was the work of Ghost Douluo, Gui Mei. He wanted to use these ghosts to distract everyone so he could attack the people inside the carriage while they were confused. But he forgot that Chen Xin was there. Chen Xin was known as the Sword Douluo, the man with the strongest attack power in the whole world.
Just as the cold ghosts were about to touch the wood of the carriage, a loud snort came from inside. It sounded like a crash of thunder. Chen Xin told Ning Fengzhi and the Prince to stay back because an enemy was attacking.
Chen Xin did not even open the door. He turned his whole body into a sharp, invisible force of sword energy. He shot straight through the roof of the carriage and slammed into the middle of the ghostly shadows.
There was a loud boom as the sword energy hit the ghostly mist. The ghosts that looked so scary and hard to fight simply melted away. In front of Chen Xin's pure and sharp power, they were like ice cubes sitting under a hot sun.
A black shape was thrown backward by the force of the hit. It was Gui Mei. He made a small painful sound as he tumbled through the air for dozens of meters before landing on his feet. The black energy around him was shaking, showing that he had been hurt a little bit by the surprise attack.
Sword Douluo Chen Xin stood in the air above the carriage. His white clothes moved in the wind, and he held his Seven Kill Sword. The sword was glowing with a beautiful light.
He pointed the tip of the blade at Gui Mei and looked at him with eyes that were as cold as ice. He told Gui Mei that since he was here, he should fight like a man instead of hiding in the shadows and using sneaky tricks.
Chen Xin did not wait for an answer. His sixth spirit ring, which was a black ten-thousand-year ring, started to shine with a brilliant light. He shouted the name of his ability, Myriad Swords Returning to the Sect.
Thousands of swords made of pure energy appeared in the sky around him. They were packed so closely together that they covered the sun. Each sword felt so sharp that just looking at them made a person's skin feel itchy. All the swords pointed down at Gui Mei. Chen Xin gave a low shout and told him to take the attack.
The swords fell from the sky like a heavy rain. They looked like a river of white light falling from the heavens. The sound of the swords cutting through the air was deafening. There were so many swords that Gui Mei had nowhere to hide.
He looked up, and his face changed because he was scared. He knew he could not block this attack easily. He yelled toward the nearby forest, asking why the others were just watching. He told them that he and Yue Guan could not win against these two by themselves.
Gui Mei moved as fast as he could. He turned into a black blur, jumping and weaving through the gaps in the falling swords. Even though he was very fast, some of the sword energy still hit him. The sharp blades tore through his black mist and left marks on his body. He looked very messy and tired. As soon as Chen Xin started fighting, he showed why his spirit was the best attacking spirit. He was completely winning against another Titled Douluo.
For a moment, it looked like the side of Tianxing Academy might win. Dugu Bo was holding his own against Yue Guan, and Chen Xin was pushing Gui Mei back. But then, something else happened. Two very powerful auras suddenly exploded from the deep forest. These powers felt like giant monsters waking up from a long sleep.
Two figures dressed in black shot out of the trees like lightning bolts. They were much stronger than any of the fighters seen before. Both of them had nine spirit rings coiling around their feet. They were two more Titled Douluo.
One of the new arrivals was a huge man who looked like a tower made of iron. His skin was dark and looked like metal. He had giant fists and felt as heavy as a mountain. The other man was thin and moved very quickly. His fingers were long, and there was a blue light on his fingernails that looked like it could cut through stone. With four Titled Douluo now fighting against them, the balance of the battle broke.
The big man let out a roar and used his sixth spirit ability, Shattering Stones and Opening Mountains. He charged at Chen Xin like a wild bull. He swung his heavy fists, making loud popping sounds in the air.
He wanted to use his great strength to stop Chen Xin's sharp sword. At the same time, the thin man moved toward Dugu Bo. He stayed very close to him, using his sharp blue claws to attack Dugu Bo's back whenever he had a chance. This forced Dugu Bo to stop focusing on his poison so he could defend himself.
The situation became very bad for Tianxing Academy. It was now two against four. The ground was being destroyed by all the different spirit abilities hitting each other. Large trees were being knocked down like they were made of paper.
Inside the carriage, Tang Chen looked out the window. He saw the two new Titled Douluo and felt worried. He wondered who they were because he didn't recognize them. Then he remembered that Spirit Hall had many hidden experts.
He thought about how Spirit Hall always had more power than they showed the world. He realized that these men were likely some of the hidden elders who didn't appear often in history.
Tang Chen's heart felt heavy. He didn't expect Spirit Hall to send so many powerful people just to stop him. He knew this was a very dangerous moment. Suddenly, he heard a strange sound coming from the grass around the carriage.
It was a soft rustling noise that made his hair stand up. Thousands of purple spiders were crawling out of the woods. They were all different sizes and looked very scary. Everywhere they walked, the grass turned black and died. The ground started to smell bad, like rotting fish. This was a very strong poison.
Ning Fengzhi cried out in fear. He recognized the spiders. He said it was the Death Spider Emperor and realized that she had come to the battle too. Everyone in the carriage felt a chill. Chen Xin and Dugu Bo were busy fighting the other four Titled Douluo and could not help them.
Tang Chen looked at Xiao Ruier, and they both nodded. They were the only ones left who could fight. Tang Chen told Ning Fengzhi to help them with his support spirit. He said that if they used their Martial Soul Fusion Skill with his help, they could be as strong as a Titled Douluo.
The two of them jumped out of the carriage and landed on the roof. As soon as they stepped outside, they felt a terrifying pressure. It was colder and more deadly than anything they had felt before.
A woman with purple hair slowly walked out of the shadows of the forest. She had a veil over her face and was wearing a tight black outfit. She looked very powerful and beautiful, but she was also very scary.
Beneath her feet, nine spirit rings appeared one by one. There were two yellow, two purple, four black, and one bright red ring. The red ring showed she had the power of a hundred-thousand-year spirit beast.
