Chapter 1 - Prologue

She was a young girl. She wasn't just any young girl; she was something extraordinary. I gasped as I saw her, tears rolling down my eyes as I remembered my past and her past.

I am at a very high authority in the administration of this jurisdiction. People here call it the Empire, and they call me the Empress. I wasn't really interested in having this chair under my name, it was the circumstances that led me to it. Well, I ought to give a little introduction about my situation, don't I?

Well, where do I start? I am not exactly a creature of this world. I am not an alien either, just a traveller from a different universe you can call it. I was around 16 when I was just about strolling in the public park in my actual real world and I sensed this weird stench. Not exactly a fragrance but not a very bad one either. Curiosity kills the cat. This is true. As you can guess, I went near the weird smell and then I found myself in a void. It was a very strange feeling, a feeling that cannot be expressed in words. I couldn't see anything. It was complete darkness. I had this strange feeling of my whole body just pulling apart. And then I felt like I was sinking, somewhere in the void. It was nauseous at first but after some time it was numb. I couldn't feel myself.

When I woke up, I was in a different world. It was different in the very air that I took in. Everything was unreal, mystical. I sat up and found myself on a stone pedestal. Surrounding me were tall stone pillars, broken pillars. Beneath me was a stone floor with several cracks out of which grew tiny plants. There was no roof, or maybe there had been a roof which was demolished. It seemed to be an abandoned altar. The sun was rising through the tall broken stone pillars as I took in my surroundings.

Unreal, isn't it? A young teenager used to the overstimulating world of the digital age suddenly being pulled to a different realm with no context whatsoever. I was confused, even scared. Was I isekai-ed to a popular novel? If so, then what is this place? I do not recall reading such a setting ever. However, one thing was certain— this was not my world.

And it still isn't. I may be the ruler of a nation in this world, but I am still an outsider. A travelling passerby who came upon this world by mistake. Then how did I manage to climb up to such a powerful position? And who was the young girl in front of me? What made an alien empress tear up at her sight? — I am sure you have a lot of questions. Well, it's a long story. You would have to stick around for a while to fully understand my situation.
