"It's fine to joke like that," Luciel said with a faint smile, "but if Skink heard you, what do you think would happen?"
Agni Moon froze, her red hair swaying slightly as she stiffened. "Uh… the big lizard can't actually understand human language, right?"
Luciel arched an eyebrow. "Maybe. I'm not entirely sure."
Her expression changed instantly. She shuffled behind him, peeking out nervously. "Well then, could you explain to it that I didn't mean what I said?"
Luciel sighed in exasperation. "You really are something else."
The red-haired girl crouched slightly, covering her flushed face with both hands. "It's terrifying, alright? That thing's eight meters long and looks like a nightmare. Who wouldn't be scared?"
Luciel couldn't help laughing. "Relax, it didn't hear a word."
Agni let out a long breath of relief. "Thank goodness."
"Now get off me," Luciel said, chuckling as he nudged her gently away.
