Brooklyn, Haixing Building, 13th floor.
This is ShowMe's headquarters.
At ten o'clock in the morning, Luke, wearing a red and white T-shirt, opened the door of the conference room and walked to the main seat.
"This is the first general meeting since the company was founded. Before the meeting begins, I want to formally confirm my future job arrangements."
As soon as the words fell, several young department heads couldn't help but feel nervous.
ShowMe is no longer the small group of a few people it once was, but a company with more than 20 employees. Now that it has become a company, it must determine the responsibilities and job divisions.
Luke pressed his hands against the tabletop, his calm gaze moving back and forth, finally landing on the young man with thick glasses.
"Luo Wen, I'm leaving the marketing department to you. Collect as much user feedback as possible, compile it into a file every three days, and hand it over to me."
Luo Wen quickly stood up.
"I won't let you down, boss."
Luke raised his hand to ask him to sit down, then turned to face Philip Arthur on his right. This bald black man was the oldest and most experienced person in the entire company. He graduated from Harvard University and had served as an executive in several large conglomerates. Luke had put a lot of thought into recruiting him.
"Mr. Arthur, I'll leave the overall planning work to you."
Philip nodded with a smile on his face, looking very kind. Only those who had in-depth contact with him knew that he had a work style of being strict with himself and others. There is no order without rules. If the company wants to develop healthily, it must have a sound management system.
"Cindy!"
Luke looked at the lady at the end of the table. She was about 26 or 27 years old, pretty, with good makeup and a mature charm.
"This is Robert Downs. He will be your deputy from now on. You two will be responsible for financial and operational matters."
"Understood, Boss."
Cindy nodded quickly, and the huge rock in her heart finally fell to the ground. She heard last night that the boss found a financial expert from Gotham City. She thought her position would be replaced, but she didn't expect him to do that.
Thinking of this, he felt more grateful and his expression became excited. He looked at Robert with a fighting spirit. The latter didn't think it was a big deal. He thought a college graduate who didn't know anything about finance was not worth his attention.
Luke continued,
"I'll be in charge of the R&D department for now. As for the technical department..."
The conference room suddenly became quiet, and all the young people who were not wearing suits looked over at the same time.
These people are special talents recruited by Luke through special channels. Some are fat otakus, some are tall and thin, and some have a cynical look with a lollipop in their mouths. They generally have low educational qualifications, but their abilities are real, much better than those graduates from prestigious universities. It is because of them that ShowMe has been able to develop safely to its current stage.
Special talents all have a shortcoming: they are difficult to manage, and they are no exception.
The air was thick with the smell of competition.
Zack sensed something and glanced around, only to see a few familiar faces. Interesting! Such a small internet company had so many computer experts.
"The Technology Department is the core department of the company. The person in charge has great responsibilities and cannot afford any mistakes. Before this, I considered many candidates and finally chose Zuckerberg. Some of you may have heard that I plan to make him the head of the Technology Department."
As soon as he finished speaking, a fat man with braided hair stood up.
"I know this guy. He was caught by the FBI and was imprisoned for two years before being released."
"So he's been to prison!"
"He who can't even protect his chrysanthemums wants to be the boss."
"The technology isn't that great, but the idea is beautiful."
…
Zuckerberg is not a good-tempered person.
"Whoever disobeys,
Come out and compete."
"Let's compete."
The two groups of people were arguing with each other.
Luke just watched and did not stop him. The core of an Internet company is technology, and the foundation of technology is talent. The steps have been set up. Whether he can step up to the stage and become the general depends entirely on Zuckerberg's ability. If he is not capable, Luke doesn't mind replacing him with someone else.
"Okay, after the meeting, you can compare all you want, but don't break the computer."
"Continue the meeting."
Luke gestured to Charlie, who took out a thick stack of documents and distributed them to everyone.
"ShowMe is my dream, but I hope it will become everyone's dream. You are not just my employees, but also the creators of my dream. Let's work together to cultivate this seedling, watch it sprout and grow, and eventually become a towering tree with branches spread across the entire planet. By then, I hope you will still be there to enjoy the rich fruits with me."
"This document is the equity incentive plan. Everyone here has a copy. Please read it carefully and raise any comments you have."
The person who took the document read it carefully, not missing a single word. Although dreams are good, they are far less tangible than money. ShowMe's salary is not high, but it has attracted many talented people. What is the reason? Luke's ability and appeal are one aspect, but more importantly, the future of the company.
They are optimistic about the future of ShowMe and are willing to devote their youth to it.
Luke jokingly said, "Mr. Arthur, estimate what ShowMe's market capitalization will be in five years."
"God told me it's worth 30 billion."
Luke laughed.
"The future tells me that you missed a zero."
Three hundred billion US dollars!
Everyone showed an expression of disbelief, and many people thought that the boss was bragging. The famous Wayne Group, which has gone through three generations and nearly a hundred years of development, has a market value of more than 800 billion. A social software wants to achieve one-third of its achievements in just a few years?
"Do you think I'm bragging?"
Luke crossed his arms, his expression calm and composed. "Future billionaires, time will tell."
"Cindy, pull up the market report."
"Okay, boss."
A series of tables related to user data appear on the large screen.
"As of 8:00 this morning, our total number of users has exceeded 2.4 million, with approximately 2.1 million daily active users. Do you know what this means?"
After a pause, waiting for everyone's attention to converge, he said,
"This means that nine out of ten users give ShowMe a satisfactory score, believing that our creation brings convenience, fun, and a more positive impact to their lives. I have to say, this is a very satisfying answer."
"But is this enough? No, not by a long shot."
Luke clenched his fists, his expression unable to hide his madness.
"What I want is for all of America, the entire world, to give it a satisfactory score. I want every person on Earth to be a loyal ShowMe user. I want every inch of this planet's soil to be within ShowMe's coverage area. I want everyone here to become a future leader..."
"Connecting the world and shortening distances, this is ShowMe, our ShowMe, everyone's ShowMe."
Bang bang bang!
Philip Arthur was the first to applaud, and the others immediately reacted and cheered wildly, as if they had been injected with chicken blood. The atmosphere was completely ignited and could not be calmed down for a long time.
Luke pressed his hands together and smiled.
"Okay, everyone, lunchtime is almost here, so let's hurry up and have the meeting! We can't let you go hungry."
"After two months of development, ShowMe has established itself. We're about to begin the second phase of operations. I'm planning to launch a video module. Feel free to share any ideas you have."
