Chapter 27 - Dont leave me!

"Pink, this is highly unacceptable behavior!"

Yellow Diamond all but shouted in annoyance while looking at her left ankle, which Pink was hugging with enough determination and strength enough to crack stone, while refusing to let go.

The scene was rather comical as Yellow tried shaking her off by lifting her leg and shaking it, to no success whatsoever.

"Pink, what is it with you now!"

"You can't send me off! Yellow, you have to help me!" Pink shouted, while refusing to let Yellow's ankle go.

Pink was actually embarrassed about her behaviour; in fact, her human soul was dying from embarrassment, but after understanding how big of a trouble she got herself in, she decided she needed help, which is why, guided by her memories from Pink, she went full Pink mode.

In simple terms, she was being childish, but Pink truly didn't know what to do; no one in the real world would care enough to help her, and if the league decided to throw her in a place like the Phantom Zone, she truly had no idea what she would do.

The only creature strong enough to help her was the Diamonds, and she trusted them to a degree; at least, she was sure that they would not kill a fellow Diamond.

'Hopefully.'

The scene continued for a few seconds as Pink Diamond, without a shred of dignity, begged Yellow for help.

Instead of two rulers of the gem empire, there was only an older sibling trying to shake off its younger sibling, which got itself in trouble.

"Pink! I already helped you!"

Yellow answered with an agitated tone, looking down at Pink Diamond that refused to let go.

The only answer she got was Pink blowing her eyes out in tears while looking up at her; it was such a familiar sight for Yellow, she saw it countless times before, but somehow, it still worked.

"Yellow, you can't send me off! Please, I have no idea what I should do!"

"Batman will be so angry, he will imprison me for a thousand years as a precaution!"

"Please, Yellow! I can't win against them! Superman can bench press a planet on his bad day!"

Yellow crouched down, trying to pull Pink away.

"Pink, this is the consequences of your actions! It is time that you learn to fix your own mistakes!"

As Yellow held Pink back and tried to pull her off… although she didn't use her full force, but for Pink, the act was enough.

Pink hugged the ankle with more force as her weeping voice intensified, as if an eldritch horror was trying to eat her soul, while burying her face back in Yellow's ankle.

"Pink, you are exaggerating, dont you think? It is hardly fit for a Diamond to behave in such a way."

"NO!…. You want to leave me alone! I don't want to stay alone, Yellow!"

Yellow grimaced internally, but her patience was wearing thin, and she knew she couldn't keep Pink longer even if she wanted to, but Pink didn't notice as she continued.

"You can't leave me behind, Yellow! They might throw me in the Phantom Zone or even SHATTER me, Yellow!"

Pink's pleas continued, unaware that Yellow Diamond's hand stopped trying to pull her off.

The anger, dismissiveness, and impatience all disappeared from Yellow's gaze as she looked down at Pink, crying her Diamond out like it was the end of the world.

Yellow Diamond-like eyes became cold as her gaze turned firm; it wasn't filled with indifference. It was an outrage, a profound boiling anger that replaced all her agitation.

Just the thought of some waste of atoms trying to harm their youngest was enraging.

After all, Pink was back…. She was being here, she was being childish like she always was; their youngest was back.

Sure, she couldn't take her home just yet…. but it was just a matter of time, after all, White promised to ensure Pink's safety.

'Shatter?' If it were Yellow from thousands of years ago, she would never pay any attention to that word; she would have passed it as their youngest exaggerating to get her way, after all, who could harm a Diamond?

But she learned the hard way long ago that as much as she liked to believe otherwise, it didn't change the fact that they were not as invincible as she once believed.

After all, if they were truly invincible, Pink would have been in Homeworld, safe and sound, being served by her own court, instead of begging Yellow not to send her away…. not to leave her alone.

It was a lesson she and Blue learned the hard way when they had the foundation of their arrogance crack.

The yellow diamond in her chest started to flash with slow, yet intense yellow light, as her face darkened, leaving only two visible yellow irises that glowed ominously.

It wasn't the explosive anger that Pink always had at her tantrums… It was an anger that promised destruction and the removal of the aggressor.

Yellow Diamond's Pearl, who was standing to the side awkwardly watching one of the empire rulers cry, felt her awkwardness disappear as she suddenly froze, feeling a strange sense of doom, while her eyes unconsciously focused on her Diamond, making Pearl's eyes widen in fear.

Pearl had seen her Diamond angry before; although it was very rare, but it wasn't something new, although it never changed the fear and awe it caused every time. Depending purely on instincts, Pearl bowed with a perfect angle unconsciously, while her face started sweating in fear and awe.

"Pink."

Something in Yellow's tone was different, which made Pink remove her head slightly, just enough to peek at Yellow's face.

"Let me make something very clear….. YOU WILL NOT BE SHATTERED."

Yellow's hand grabbed Pink again as she placed her on her open palm and brought her closer to her face, making Pink meet Yellow's enraged eyes.

"No waste of organic material will EVER place a single crack on your Diamond …. Don't you ever dare mention such a terrible thing again! Am I clear, Pink?"

Pink nodded slowly as her panic finally stopped, while Yellow placed her huge finger on Pink's fluffy hair, patting it slowly.

"Pink, first of all, you aren't in that much danger as you think, and if, and I mean IF, you were in such a terrible situation, then White would have helped already, especially Blue; she would probably leave all her responsibilities to help you.... Don't underestimate our Diamond authority; it's rather unbecoming of you."

"But fine…. I will help."

Pink jumped in joy, hugging Yellow Diamond's face, while her face finally bloomed in a bright smile through a tear-stained face.

Yellow's eyes looked at Pink for a few seconds as her gaze finally softened before sighing in exasperation; yet, she didn't push Pink away, letting her get it out of her system.

"Now, Pink… Why don't you tell me about those organics that trouble you so much?"

Yellow Diamond's tone, although calmer than before, still had a sharp edge to it, not that any of the two Diamonds noticed, as Yellow brought Pink back to the control room, as she took a seat on her throne while placing Pink on her shoulder.

Pink started talking nonstop about the Justice League, with as much grace of a person facing execution.

All the while, Yellow listened while resting her head on her other hand, seemingly too bored, but listening nonetheless as the young Diamond tried to give a clear picture of the likes of Superman's level, which only earned a raised eyebrow from Yellow.

(One hour of Pink nonstop talking later)

When Pink finally finished talking, the last shreds of unease finally left her as she sat down with a worried expression on Yellow's shoulder, seemingly willing to wait for Yellow's opinion.

"Do you see now, Yellow? I have no way to resist if the league decides to team up on me."

Yellow answered in her bored tone, saying… "They are a unique collection of organics, for sure."

"Interesting, but that's about it; a flawed being is flawed no matter how dense their organic forms are….. Hmmmm, I wouldn't call them dangerous, but I can see how you lack a method to effectively remove them from the equation. "

Yellow stopped talking as she saw Pink's worried expression, which made her sigh heavily, seemingly forcing her tone to become serious….. After all, she couldn't find it in her Diamond to treat it lightly if their youngest was this worried.

"I will give you a gift, Pink; it should make things much easier for you….. But I need you to give me that material called Kryptonite."

Seeing Pink's confused expression, Yellow showed an amused yet somber smile as she picked up Pink's small form, saying, " When you started your court before, I remember giving you a few perfect gems as a gift and a foundation for you… sigh… Although things didn't end up that well last time, since you are planning to start a new court, then let me give you something special this time."

"And besides, I have not used Kryptonite before, and I rather welcome the experience."

(A few minutes later )

Pink placed the last Kryptonite on the rather small hill as she looked at Yellow, who was examining a piece of Kryptonite with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes, that should work."

Yellow looked seriously at Pink, saying, "Once it's done, I will send it to you; I will try to make it as fast as possible."

"Now, Pink, you have to leave."

Pink was about to complain, but was silenced with a huge finger pressed against her mouth.

'No, Pink, it isn't my choice; I already kept you longer than I should.'

Before Pink could try to refuse, a yellow light enveloped her as everything disappeared.

Pink spent the next few minutes trying to understand her situation before she remembered what happened.

'Oh right…. I am poofed.'

Now, this wasn't worrying since she had it coming…. But not being able to reform, yeah, now that was worrying.

'They didn't bubble me, did they?…. Can they make bubbles?….. Sigh, why am I asking? It's obviously some magical nonsense prison.'

(Outside world)

Flash was watching a Pink Diamond floating in a purple glowing sphere with a complicated expression.

"Whatever Zatanna did seems to be working… although I am not sure how I feel about it."

Flash turned his head to see Wonder Woman, who just arrived, before looking back at the floating Diamond, saying:

"Is this really necessary?"

"Flash, she almost killed Hal and crushed Tornado."

Flash didn't answer for a long minute before saying, "Hal is already up and running thanks to her tears, while Tornado just needed a quick fix, nothing permanent… Sigh, don't you think you are being a bit petty about that lasso?"

Wonder Woman's face hardened at his jab, saying, "She is dangerous, Flash… Or do you believe that we should forgive her just as before?"

Flash didn't look at her as he answered, "She was scared, terrified, and panicked, Diana. I don't know what happened before I arrived, but I don't think she meant it."

As Flash tried to continue, he was cut off with Diana saying, "Then it's even worse, Flash… You may seem to forget, but that scared creature all but reshaped the continent … what will happen if she loses control in a populated area, or have you forgotten what happened in Washington D.C.?…. If she lost control, then she is a ticking bomb."

Unfortunately for Wonder Woman, Shazam, who just arrived, heard her words and didn't like what she was saying one bit.

Shazam all but stormed into the conversation, saying, "So what? You want to lock up everyone you deem 'dangerous'? Then maybe we should start with the so-called Themyscira."

Wonder Woman turned to look at Shazam with narrowed eyes.

Unfortunately for her, Shazam was already annoyed at having to watch while his friend was imprisoned, so he didn't back down; in fact, he met her gaze with the stubbornness of a boy wanting a reason to lash out.

Wonder Woman turned to face Shazam with narrowed eyes, "Watch your words, Captain Marvel; my home has nothing to do with this."

Instead of backing down, Shazam's eyes started glowing faintly with magic, saying as he crossed his hands, "Or what, old hag?"

Flash appeared between the two of them with a flash, saying, "Woah, woah, let's all calm down… Pink's case will be decided on in the next meeting; there is no point in arguing over it now."

Shazam held Wonder Woman's gaze for a long second before turning around to leave, throwing a "Whatever" as he stormed off.
