Josephine slept in her hall where her family and wedding pictures were as always. Xavi put her to sleep. He was looking at Ceillie's picture — of her and Josephine together.
"You died because you never told anyone about your illness, Nana… and you left us — especially your little baby girl who now has a hole in her heart. She wants to leave me and join you, Nana…" Xavi said with a heavy heart.
"I can't lose you, Josephine. We will grow old together and die together too. Now it's not your time, baby," Xavi said, rubbing her cheeks as his mother and siblings overheard him.
"He really looks sad," Severin said.
"Yeah, never seen him like this before," Kael said.
"Me too," Melantha said.
"Same," Darius said.
"She takes care of him and Adris very, very well," Queen Oliyda said as they watched their elder brother in pain.
The next day, Xavi was by his window. He was done with his duties. Josephine opened the door — he knew it was her but didn't look back. She wrapped her arms around him from the back and he held her hand and kissed them softly, relaxing his head on hers. She smiled softly as he was still looking out the window; she was wrapped around him.
Adris waddled in.
"Hi Papa and Mama," he said with a yawn.
Xavi carried him up. Adris yawned again.
"Papa, happy new month Papa and Mama," Adris said, hugging Xavi while yawning.
"Happy new month, love," Xavi said as Josephine kissed Adris' cheeks.
Downstairs everyone was talking, catching up as Josephine came down with Adris. He was sleeping in her arms as Xavi was sitting on his throne with his eyes closed. Caius informed him about his meeting.
"The Queen of Nerathis with her husband and four girls and one boy are going to be here in five minutes," he said, and Xavi nodded.
Josephine froze as she held her chest. Xavi felt it. He opened his eyes and sped to her, holding her.
"Hey baby, it hurts doesn't it?" Xavi said, holding her, and she smiled at him. He gave her water as a guard from Zephyria sped in.
"Your Majesty, there is a huge problem! The houses close to the lake got flooded and the ones close to the bridge caught fire. A lot of people are injured!" The guard said, bowing to Josephine.
Everyone looked at her. She stood and her eyes glowed purple. Her clothes changed into a battle suit with a golden sea headpiece.
"Bye Mama!" Adris said as she zoomed off.
"WOAH!" Kael said.
Xavi gave instructions to the guards and he nodded and left.
"Your wife is a Queen of another kingdom?" Melantha said.
"Mama is the Queen of Zephyria!" Adris said.
"Zephyria!?" The siblings said, and Xavi nodded as they ate breakfast.
While Josephine was in her kingdom fixing and repairing Zephyria back into shape again.
Five minutes later, about four carriages came in as six people came down and walked in. First, they saw King Xavi and his son together.
"Papa?" Adris said.
"Hm?" Xavi said while fixing his hair.
"Do you think Mama is very, very pretty? Will you leave my Mama?" Adris said while playing with Xavi's shirt.
"No boy. In fact, I want to ask you — do you want a baby brother or sister?" Xavi said.
Adris gasped with excitement.
"I want a little sister!" he said, and Xavi laughed at his son.
"Greetings, your Highness!" the royal family that arrived said as he looked at them and nodded.
Adris yawned as Caius gave Xavi Adris' milk and blood, and Xavi fed his son who was in his arms while the guests sat down.
"Adris, I want you to be King now. You have your Mama's blood in your body now — you're her first son," Xavi said, and Adris floated in the air and was thinking about it.
"But will I be a good and great king like you, Papa?" Adris said, and Xavi smiled at him.
"Of course, my son. Especially your Mama — she will be the proudest person," Xavi said as the guests watched both father and son talking.
"Adris, come on! Let's go — ball time!" Kael said, with Darius and Severin, while Melantha was with her mother.
The Queen of Nerathis' name was Queen Lilura — a dark elf. Her husband, King Varyn — half mermaid, half demon. And their five kids:
First, Princess Ravenna — a dark elf.
Princess Vexia — a full demon.
Princess Morana — half demon, half dark elf, half mermaid; she is a Trybrid.
Princess Vega — half mermaid, half dark elf.
And Grand Prince Arin — half demon, half dark elf, half mermaid; he was a Trybrid like his sister.
After an hour, Xavi was talking to King Varyn as Princess Morana's eyes were on Xavi. She had orange hair with a pear body shape.
"Stop looking at him," Arin said.
"But he is so handsome," Morana said.
"You brat, stop staring at him! What if he is married, huh?" Vega said.
"He has a son, so yeah — he is," Vega said again, and she rolled her eyes at them.
Lunchtime.
"Your Highness," Caius said, and Xavi nodded. Everyone came for lunch.
Xavi looked at the door — Josephine still hadn't returned home.
Adris flew in with his uncles.
"That was fun!" he said.
"Yeah, it was," Darius said, and Adris giggled at them.
Xavi didn't eat.
"She's still not back?" Anesthesia said.
"Yeah," Theron said as everyone ate except Xavi.
Queen Lilura's family was staying in Xavi's castle till their business was done.
Hours passed. It was 9:58 p.m. Josephine hadn't returned home. It was dinner time. Xavi sat as he fed Adris, then a heavy wind flew in as they all got up thinking it was danger. Their eyes glowed as the wind wrapped around the air, and Xavi stood up.
"That aura is too strong and powerful," Kael said.
"Yeah, who is it?" Melantha said.
"Josephine," Xoni said.
As Xavi reached out his hand and a palm held his — the heavy wind stopped. Josephine dropped down. She was bleeding on both legs and mouth too.
"What the fuck!?" Xavi said, holding his wife. She was now unconscious. She had used her last breath to speed back home.
He carried her to Sienna's healing chambers, but Sienna stopped Xavi from entering. She examined her as Adris was floating around by the window while the maids distracted him under Xoni's order. Xoni was the Grand Princess of the kingdom.
Sienna wrapped Josephine's wounds and came out with her hands bloody too.
"Blood, Xavi — we need blood! Josephine's blood type is rare. She needs a lot of blood before next month or she will…" Sienna said.
"She will what!?" Xavi said in an angry tone.
"We will lose her," Sienna said.
Xavi covered his face with his left hand.
"For now, she needs rest and food — serious one. But she's the Queen of Zephyria, so her duties will come up like today," Sienna said.
Xavi sat, rubbing his forehead as Adris waddled to the hall holding a rose and tulips. He was counting steps to meet his mother.
"6… 7… 8… 9… 10!" he said as he looked up at the family and saw his father. He dropped the flowers on the table and flew to his father.
"Papa, why you sad huh?" Adris said, touching his father's shoulders.
Xavi sighed heavily and said, "I am fine, child. Hm… those are for your Mama?" Xavi said.
Adris nodded as he kissed Xavi's cheek and held the flowers to Josephine, who was sleeping now.
"In morning I will give Mama," Adris said with a yawn as Queen Oliyda held her sleepy grandson to his room to sleep.
Xavi carried Josephine to their room. He changed her clothes to her pajamas and lay beside her, watching her sleeping as he held her hand and slept off.
