I woke up, lying on my bed. I remembered as clear as night and day what had happened yesterday. No, it wasn't yesterday. This stuff was so confusing. It was crazy how I didn't feel anything after what had just occurred. I was sure it was because I knew nobody truly died when they were killed. Maybe they were dead in other timelines though, but I decided not to think too deeply about that.
I reminded myself that it was June 6. After all those loops, it had probably become a habit of mine along the way. I wondered what my mental age was now...
I walked to school at a faster pace than usual, arrived twenty minutes early, and tried to find Aira as fast as I could to discuss our game plan. Or that was what was supposed to be the plan. I found her, sitting on the staircase, just like before. Aira noticed me and called out to me first.
"Ash."
I was a bit surprised that she had called out first.
"Yes?" I replied, my voice a little hesitant.
"I hope you know why I did it." Her gaze was steady, unwavering.
"...Yeah." I shifted my weight, feeling the awkwardness settle between us, probably because of what had just happened.
"...I'll head to the classroom." She rose, dusting off her skirt.
"Same," I said, starting to follow her. "I'll do it again, so I hope you're fine with it."
I stopped, turning to face her. "Yeah." I managed, a knot forming in my stomach.
We both headed to the classroom, not saying a single word to each other.
The day progressed as usual, just like how I remembered it.
It was lunchtime. It's time.
Aira pulled out a knife, swiftly stabbing it into a classmate. But when I saw her looking at the person she had stabbed, she looked shocked for a moment. Then, a small, chilling smile spread across her lips and her eyes widened. This time, she didn't say anything—and she triumphantly went for the next loop.
