The moment the door closed behind him, I rushed outside, hoping to catch him before he disappeared.
"Wait! Help me find this person—help me find my family!" I shouted into the street.
But when I got outside, he was already gone. Not a trace of him remained.
I let out a frustrated sigh. "He's fast…"
The school grounds nearby were a mess of rubble. Workers had already started clearing the debris, their voices echoing. I overheard one of them say it would take six months before the school was rebuilt. Six months without school.
I went back home and stood in front of the mirror again. My reflection stared back at me—those strange green and black eyes. They felt like a stranger's eyes, not mine.
"Why… why did this happen to me?" I muttered, gripping the sink.
But then I remembered the man's words. The eyes only come from the Light family.
The Light family… who were they? Where were they? Were any of them even alive? My mind spun with questions that had no answers.
I tried lying down, hoping sleep would take me, but no matter how much I closed my eyes, my thoughts wouldn't stop. Finally, I gave up and went outside for a walk.
That's when it happened.
My eyes began to ache. I rubbed them hard, but when I opened them again, I froze.
A shimmering dome surrounded the entire village—a massive force field I had never seen before.
I blinked rapidly, rubbing my eyes again. But it was still there.
My gaze shifted left, and that's when I noticed it: a hole in the force field, torn open right where the school had been destroyed.
"What… is this…?" I whispered.
Curious—and terrified—I reached out my hand. The moment my fingers brushed the barrier, a strange sensation pulsed through me. My skin tingled, my arm felt heavy, almost as if the world on the other side was different.
I yanked my hand back, my heart racing.
Stumbling home, I clutched my head. "I'm going crazy… I need answers. I need them now."
But there were none. Only more questions.
