{There are various realms of cultivation, or, as they're generally addressed, levels of strength, with the first being the Star Core Realm. The others include the Cosmos Realm, Galaxy Realm, and so on. However, they are too distant for you now.}
[From the SS-grade ability, you should have condensed a core. By continuously nourishing this core, you should be able to effectively increase how much mana it can hold, and also enhance the range of your abilities, their intensity, and increasing effectiveness…]
The fairy's words trailed off. However, Modret's eyes showed a look of shock. 'This was possible?' He gasped slightly, his eyes shining with excitement.
He hesitated for a moment, then closed his eyes and began sensing his surroundings. After a short while, wisps of mana began circulating around him, and the next moment his aura started to change subtly.
Anna, who was in the next room, noticed the slight change in mana fluctuations and opened her eyes, her brows furrowing. "Is someone cultivating nearby?"
Although she could sense the fluctuations of mana, she couldn't directly tell where the mana was going to.
Within moments of cultivating, Modret felt a change in the glowing black core within him. At some point in time, he realized he could enter something similar to a unique mental space and sense the state of his core.
Using this unique state, he noticed that his mana core had increased slightly in size. Modret's eyes lit up with joy, and he quickly snapped his gaze open.
Then he stretched out his palm, and immediately a wave of black flames wrapped around him. The temperature of his room instantly rose exponentially. Modret quickly retracted his null flames, then, feeling slightly drowsy, drifted off to sleep.
The night passed peacefully, and the next morning, just as Modret was getting ready for classes, his shadow flashed and condensed into a figure. Modret's eyes showed a slight look of surprise, then Xara's figure completely formed.
'Speaking of which, in my anger, I sent him out the previous night. Did he comply with my orders?' Modret mused slightly, then curiously looked up at Xara.
Xara looked haggard and unkempt, as though he had been through a life-and-death struggle. His body was covered in cuts and slight bruises. However, something strange… from within his cuts there was no blood.
'This should be because he's already dead, right? Can they also not feel pain?' Modret was slightly curious about the state of his shadow servants.
Xara opened his mouth to speak, bowing slightly. "Lord, the little creatures are gathered in the shed."
Modret was slightly startled. "All twenty of them?" He recalled that this was the number he had asked Xara to gather.
"Yes, Lord!" Xara nodded in reply.
Modret thought for a moment. After some silence, he nodded and unsummoned Xara. "Rest for a bit. In a few hours, you'll go to capture some more for me…" After giving the order, Modret returned to his preparations for classes.
When he was done, he quickly rushed to the shed and made quick work of the creatures. Unwilling to stain his clothes, with a wave of his hand, a mass of black flames engulfed the cage. Just as the creatures were about to let out grueling screams, they fell into a daze, encountering all sorts of illusions within the null fire.
In the blink of an eye, all the little creatures had been burnt to ashes. Aside from that, due to the heat of the flames, even the cage had melted slightly. Modret's face paled as he felt slight dizziness.
'This should be due to overusing my mana. In that case, I can use my abilities for just roughly two minutes,' Modret understood internally. He touched his nose awkwardly, staring at the melted cage.
Without hesitation, he summoned Xara. "Aside from capturing as many rabbits as you can, also find a new cage." After giving the order, Modret quickly departed for classes, meeting Axel on the way and having a few lighthearted chats with him, getting to know more about his family.
Like this, a week passed in a flash, and soon Modret had amassed enough for his third roulette spin and even more than that…
[Shadow Fragments: 400/1000]
[Shadow Roulette: 1]
By killing a few insects, Modret made his shadow fragments return to the normal 10s, and after killing countless creatures, he had finally amassed a second shadow roulette spin.
Modret had been patiently delaying the spin for a while because he wanted to test something out. He wanted to see if the roulette spins could be stacked.
'If it can, then perhaps in the future when I don't need any abilities in the meantime, I can just keep stacking them. Spinning would be fun then. Out of a hundred spins, I should at least be able to awaken an SSS-grade ability, right?' Modret had this thought in his heart.
With a faint smile, he quickly entered into a state of cultivation. After absorbing mana for roughly a week, it was finally time for him to enter the third stage of the Star Core Realm.
Modret closed his eyes and quickly began cultivating, trickles of mana gradually flowing into his core. Soon, a mysterious change occurred within his body, and his core once again expanded.
The process lasted the whole night, and soon morning arrived.
