Mistfall Village is located near the Serpents Spine, where Emperor Shao Hao once summoned the mists.
According to legend, the Seven Sha were the embodiment of the seven negative emotions within Shao Hao. In reality, this statement isn't entirely accurate; it was simply because Shao Hao's power was immense, and he absorbed too much Sha energy during his cultivation.
When Shao Hao shed his "burdens," that Sha energy left his body along with those seven negative emotions. Because so much Sha energy had gathered, it became a Sha Demon. Sha Demons themselves have no attributes; the Sha Demons summoned from Mogushan Palace are unaligned.
The Seven Sha only gained their attributes because they combined with Shao Hao's negative emotions. They used Shao Hao's negative emotions to expand and spread among the surrounding people, making them even more troublesome than the Sha Demons themselves.
This is also why Sha Demons can only control people, while the Seven Sha can make people feel emotions like confusion and despair.
When Shao Hao summoned the mists back then, he only eliminated six negative emotions, so this time, only six of the Seven Sha revived.
The sha of pride had not yet fully formed, or rather, he should have been inside Shao Hao's body.
Back then, Shao Hao's soul left his body and transformed into mist. A thick fog also rose around Mistfall Village, concealing Shao Hao's body. Therefore, people always believed that Shao Hao had merely disappeared.
However, the first Shadow Master of the Shado-Pan watched Shao Hao "die" in Mistfall Village, a secret known only to successive Shadow Masters.
And Wrath Soul told the Shadow Master that the location of the sha of pride was in the valley where Shao Hao's "corpse" lay.
The Shadow Master entered the valley, where the mists were no longer dense. It seemed that after the mists in the sky were dispelled, the mists here also dissipated considerably.
Soon, he saw Shao Hao's "corpse," his face unchanged, as if untouched by the passage of time. He sat cross-legged on a large rock, as if merely meditating.
The Shadow Master bowed three times to the "corpse." "Your Majesty, I apologize for disturbing you. However, the sha of pride led me here, and to prevent him from defiling your body, I have resolved to eradicate him."
After speaking, he used Wrath Soul again to sense the location of the sha of pride.
Wrath Soul clearly told him that the sha of pride was on the "corpse."
This made the Shadow Master a bit troubled. He tentatively brought Wrath Soul closer to the "corpse." Suddenly, a powerful suction erupted from Wrath Soul, attempting to draw away the Sha energy from Shao Hao's "corpse."
However, an unexpected event occurred: a powerful suction burst forth from within Shao Hao, absorbing all the Sha energy from Wrath Soul.
"No..."
The Shadow Master watched in disbelief. He wanted to stop it, but Wrath Soul was already out of his control.
Soon, all the Sha energy from Wrath Soul was absorbed by the "corpse." The Shadow Master regained his freedom and immediately tried to activate Wrath Soul to draw all the Sha energy back.
Just then, Shao Hao suddenly opened his eyes. His eyes were filled with blackness; Sha energy had taken control of his "corpse."
The Shadow Master immediately knew something was wrong and threw a punch. He could only hope that Wrath Soul would still be able to absorb the Sha energy from Shao Hao's body as it had before.
Unexpectedly, Shao Hao suddenly raised his hand and caught the Shadow Master's fist.
His eyes gradually cleared, and he looked at the Shadow Master with confusion. "Why are you attacking me?"
"Your Majesty?"
The Shadow Master was stunned, unable to believe his eyes. Emperor Shao Hao, who had been dead for over a thousand years, had actually revived.
Shao Hao looked at him and knew there might be a misunderstanding. So he released the Shadow Master's fist and asked, "Are you a successor of the Shado-Pan?"
The Shadow Master immediately bowed and respectfully said, "I am Liu Gaolan, the tenth Shadow Master of the Shado-Pan."
"The Shado-Pan has been passed down for ten generations? It seems hundreds of years have passed." Shao Hao looked around. "I wonder how Pandaria is doing. It looks like it survived that disaster."
The Shadow Master hesitated. "Your Majesty, it has been over a thousand years since you brought down the mists. Pandaria was protected by the mists; you succeeded."
"That's wonderful!" Shao Hao said joyfully, then with some sadness, "My old friends must all be gone."
The Shadow Master fell silent. The races of Pandaria were not long-lived. However, he was more concerned about Shao Hao's condition now.
"Your Majesty, how do you feel?"
Shao Hao turned to him. "What happened that made you choose to attack me?"
The Shadow Master then recounted the revival of the Seven Sha and the recent events. After listening, Shao Hao immediately sensed the changes within his body.
"They have all returned to my body. Perhaps because of this, my soul was able to return to my body. But you can rest assured, they are originally my negative emotions. While they will influence me, they cannot dominate my will. It's just that I may have to set them aside again. Fortunately, I've done it once before, so this time it should be completed quickly."
The Shadow Master looked at the Wrath Soul on his hand, took it off, and offered it with both hands.
"Your Majesty, these gloves are called Wrath Soul. They have the ability to absorb Sha energy. Perhaps you can use them to absorb the Sha energy from within your body. If successful, it will save you a lot of time."
"Oh?"
Shao Hao became interested, took one from the Shadow Master's hand, and put it on.
Then he channeled his true qi, and endless Sha energy erupted, furiously pouring into Wrath Soul. The Shadow Master could feel that the Sha energy within Wrath Soul was more than all the Sha energy he had collected from the Six Sha.
He gasped. With so much Sha energy within His Majesty's body, His Majesty was still unharmed. It was then that he realized how powerful Shao Hao truly was.
If one had to establish a standard of measurement, perhaps he was on par with Gale.
Considering Gale was already referred to as a god by his followers, could Shao Hao also be called a god?
Shao Hao cleansed the Sha energy from his body, looking at Wrath Soul with interest.
"These gloves are good."
The Shadow Master quickly offered the other one. "Your Majesty, please put this one on as well. Distribute it evenly between both gloves to prevent too much Sha energy from accumulating inside and damaging this divine artifact."
Shao Hao shook his head. "I can feel that this glove has not reached its capacity limit. So, one glove is enough. Keep the other one for yourself; you never know when you might need it."
Hearing this, the Shadow Master had no choice but to put Wrath Soul back on.
Although Emperor Shao Hao had returned, the Shado-Pan truly needed a treasure to guard their sect. If the Seven Sha were to revive again, the Shado-Pan would be better equipped to deal with them. For example, during this revival of the Seven Sha, if he hadn't rushed back to the monastery in time, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
Thousands of monks controlled by Sha Demons would become their strongest warriors. While it might not sweep across all of Pandaria, it was certainly possible to devastate a large part of it.
