Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 Troll Buster

Nasa was an excellent scout, and under the influence of magic, she and her Night Saber became one.

She could grant the Night Saber the Kaldorei talent Shadowmeld, and also share the Night Saber's talent Stealth.

Although both talents were invisibility abilities, the difference between them was significant.

Shadowmeld could be used in combat but prevented movement. Stealth allowed movement but required being out of combat to activate.

Shadowmeld offered stronger invisibility than Stealth, making it suitable as a disengagement skill, after which Stealth could be used to leave.

Nasa's excellent invisibility skills made her thrive on the battlefield, and she quickly found the Troll Witch Doctor squad Gale was looking for in the forest.

After placing a beacon, Maiev immediately used Blink to teleport over.

Then, a small portal opened at the beacon's location, and Gale and the others streamed through it.

After Vandos passed through the portal, he immediately channeled magic into it to maintain its operation, allowing Ambassador Veridis to pass through.

Gale was very emotional, thinking that in ancient times, the Mages were able to skillfully use portals. Thinking about the Mages ten thousand years later, they were truly regressing. A certain gnome Mage even got lost in another dimension due to a failed teleportation, which was simply an embarrassment to Mages.

Walking beside Maiev and looking down from the mountain top, a Troll Witch Doctor squad was quietly passing below the mountain.

Nasa pointed in the direction the Troll Witch Doctorsquad was heading, "That's the Third Army's water source point. There's a Witch Doctor in the Troll Witch Doctor squad; I think they intend to poison the Third Army's water supply."

Maiev's eyes were cold, "We cannot let them succeed."

Saying that, she waved her hand, about to order the Priests to deal with this Troll Witch Doctor squad.

Gale raised his hand, stopping her action, "Priest Maiev, this squad is our target."

Maiev turned her head in annoyance, and Gale calmly said, "You can go and set an ambush. If my people can't handle it, it won't be too late for you to intervene."

After speaking, Gale directly ordered, "Carlos, you may initiate the attack."

Carlos Morninglight waved his hand, leading Prince Farodis's guard down the hill to charge the Troll Witch Doctor squad.

Maiev sneered, thinking that charging down like that was simply making themselves targets for the Trolls.

Her thoughts were completely correct; the Trolls sent to protect the Witch Doctor were all elite Headhunters.

When Carlos and his men charged halfway down the hill, the Trolls discovered their presence.

"Kill them!"

The Troll Witch Doctor said fiercely, then was the first to throw the blade in his hand at the leading Carlos.

Following the blade were more than ten spears and about ten axes. The Headhunters' ranged attack gave them a first-strike advantage.

The Priests frowned, thinking these warriors were clearly throwing their lives away.

However, just as the blades, javelins, and throwing axes were about to strike the warriors, Carlos raised his shield, which erupted with a magic shield, deflecting all the thrown weapons.

The Priests were astonished; they hadn't expected the warriors to resolve the crisis in such a way.

"One-time enchantment?" Maiev exclaimed. She was more experienced than the Priests and immediately recognized the magic shield's unique nature.

She looked at Gale, "Does Nasalas have Mages who have mastered one-time enchantment?"

Gale smiled, "Of course, after all, it's not a highly difficult enchantment technique."

Vandos said disdainfully, "Commoners are simply short-sighted. Nasalas had already broken through the one-time skill enchantment technology a year ago, allowing skills to be permanently affixed to items."

Maiev was very annoyed, but inwardly, she was extremely surprised. Nasalas was merely a place for training Mage apprentices. When did Mage apprentices become capable of learning such important enchantment techniques and achieving significant breakthroughs?

Veridis was also very surprised. It should be noted that the permanent skill enchantment technique was cutting-edge even among the Royal Mages. Due to its immense cost, it was only applied to artifacts. Carlos's shield was clearly not an artifact, not even epic-grade. Who would be so wasteful as to spend a huge sum on an elite-grade shield?

What even the Archmage couldn't predict, the Trolls were even less able to anticipate.

Watching Carlos deflect their weapons, the Trolls instantly panicked. The Headhunters attacked again, and the Witch Doctor also quickly took out some totem poles, throwing them in the path of the charging warriors.

The javelins and throwing axes could not break the magic shield, and the totem poles could not stop the warriors' charge.

Poisonous snakes rose from the totem poles, continuously spewing magical venom, constantly weakening the magic shield's power.

Carlos drew his Sanction Blade, swinging it with a flash of sword fire. The snake guards were instantly engulfed in flames, turning into charred remains.

Having cleared the last obstacle, the warriors charged into the Trolls. Carlos went straight for the Troll Witch Doctor, his Sanction Blade carrying flames as he slashed.

A Headhunter pushed the Witch Doctor away but couldn't dodge in time himself, getting cut in half by the Sanction Blade. His body fell to the ground, flames clinging to the wound, quickly extinguished by the blood.

Prince Farodis's guard also engaged with the other Headhunters. These warriors were all elites. In close quarters, they gave the Headhunters no chance to use melee weapons, swinging their swords at the Headhunters' vital points.

In an instant, more than ten Trolls fell to the ground. Some Trolls who avoided vital points clutched their wounds, trying to reduce blood loss to heal themselves with their regeneration ability. But no matter how they tried to stop it, blood continued to flow, as if their regeneration ability had lost its effect.

The warriors stepped forward, delivering another sword strike to these Trolls, completely ending their lives.

Having lost more than half their forces, the Headhunters immediately protected the Witch Doctorand retreated. They continuously charged at the warriors, trying to buy time for the Witch Doctor to escape. However, the warriors gave them no chance; before the Headhunters could get close, several swords attacked simultaneously.

Carlos didn't even look at these Headhunters, heading directly for the Witch Doctor.

The Witch Doctor still wanted to make a last-ditch effort, but before his hand could even rise to cast a spell, the Sanction Blade had already cut off his head.

On the hillside, Ambassador Veridis exclaimed in admiration, "These weapons are truly the bane of Trolls."

He wrote down everything he saw, "Ordinary soldiers equipped with the Sanction Sword can completely kill Trolls head-on. And the power of the Sanction Bladeis even greater than imagined. If an elite unit is equipped with the Sanction Blade, they would fully possess the ability to sway the war. Gale, it seems you're going to get rich."

Vandos was also pleased with the Sanction Sword's performance, "His Royal Highness truly did not misjudge you."

Gale smiled humbly, "It is my honor to be able to help the Empire defeat the Trolls."

The Priests looked at Gale in surprise; they hadn't expected that these weapons, which cut through Trolls like vegetables, were created by this young Mage.

Among the crowd, Maiev remained relatively calm. But a flicker of unusual brilliance still flashed in her eyes; in this Empire that revered Arcane, a genius Mage was destined to attract attention.
