Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5: THE HEALER’S AWAKENING

Thomas took a deep breath and closed the news browser he had opened. He stared coldly at Keira for a few seconds. At that moment, she felt like she was being stared at by a fierce

 beast.

"Rumor has it that this guy was possessed by a demon, which is why he lay in a coffin for three days and then came back to life."

"Is that true? Otherwise, why would his eyes look so terrifying?"

At that moment, someone walked in and asked Isn't this the famous Peter? I heard he placed a bet on his wife. Hey, how come you're alive again? I must be seeing ghosts."

"Your information is outdated. This guy faked his death, lay in a coffin for three days, and then came back to life. Hey, his luck is so bad that even the devil rejected him. If I were his wife, I would have killed him with a knife. What a fool."

Thomas stood up and said, "How much is for the keyboard? I'll compensate you accordingly."

Keira was furious and said, "Can you afford it? You're a pathetic loser who only has 30 dollars to your name. What are you going to use to compensate me? Are you going to sell your daughter this time around?"

Thomas remained expressionless and said, "I will double the amount."

"Fine! This keyboard is a gaming-specific Logitech keyboard, worth five hundred dollars. If you want to double the amount, it's one thousand! Can you come up with that amount now? Keira's anger surged as she spoke loudly.

Thomas took out the card that was inside his pocket and walked to the front desk to scan a payment QR code.

"Beep - payment successful." Keira's expression froze.

After paying Thomas turned and left, riding away on his electric bike. His mind was filled with thoughts of how Lucas and Emily had conspired to kill him. He had never thought about it before, but now he realized that there had been signs of a Lucas and Emily conspiracy all along.

Unfortunately, he had been too focused on developing the business, especially his recent project, to realize that the real danger was not from outside, but from within. Now that Lucas controls the business, along with the Bailey family, the two forces combined were beyond his ability to take revenge. If he wanted revenge and justice, he had to be patient and start from scratch. With these thoughts in mind, Thomas rode around the town

before calming down. His current task was to live on as Peter, without being exposed, so he could have the time to plan his revenge.

 "Beep beep beep -"

 Thomas' phone suddenly rang.

 Caller ID: The witch

He was taken aback by the name and wondered who it could be. Without much

thought, Peter answered the call, "Hello!"

"What's so good about it? With a useless son-in-law like you, how could I be doing well?" A woman's voice came from the other end of the phone, and it turned out to be Peter's mother-in-law.

"Mom, is there something you need?" Thomas pulled the corners of his mouth. "Where are you? Did you go gambling again? You're a useless piece of trash, you never do anything productive. When are you going to stop disgracing this family?" Mrs. Amelia scolded him.

 "What's the matter, Mom?"

"I want you home right this instant."

"What do you want me for?"

Apart from massaging and resetting of bones, what else can you do? You better hurry up a customer is here waiting for you.

After hanging up the phone, Thomas suddenly remembered that his mother-in-law had opened a small pharmacy close to the house where she sells, ordinary cold and headache medicine. She had also set up a small room inside for Peter to give bone-setting massages. Peter's grandfather had made a name for himself in the past, and there were quite a few old customers who came to seek medical treatment.

Unfortunately, their town was so small, how many patients needed bone-setting? Thomas rushed to the store and saw a lady already sitting there, chatting with his mother-in-law.

The woman was not very old, around thirty years old. Her skin was delicate and fair, and her figure was also very attractive. She dressed very well. After checking his memories, Thomas remembered that the woman's name is Mrs. Esther Godwin, a tailor. Her husband died in a construction accident three years ago, and she received a large sum of compensation. She recently opened a tailor shop.

 "Hey, Peter, you finally came!"

Her eyes lit up when she saw Peter. She quickly pulled him into a small room, "My backbone is so painful that I can't even sit still. I can't sew anymore. The hospital's ointment is

useless. Only you can give me a massage

and some acupuncture to make me comfortable for a few days." Thomas was slightly stunned. Was his orthopedic technique that good? But the next second, he shuddered, almost screaming in shock. It turned out that Mrs. Esther was already lying on the bed, and her top had been completely removed.
