Chapter 9 - CHAPTER 9: DR. THOMAS

"Can you cure my grandfather's leg? Do you know how many doctors have tried

and failed to cure him?" Michael's expression showed that he didn't believe Thomas's words at all. For they had consulted numerous doctors, both domestic and foreign, including experts in Indian and Western medicine. There

were at least ninety, if not a hundred, but none of them could cure the old man's leg disease. Whenever the old injury flared up, he would be writhing in pain, rolling around in bed.

And now, a young man dared to claim that he could cure him? It was ridiculous!

If at first, Michael had wanted to befriend Thomas after seeing him fight off those thugs without backing down, but hearing what they said about him, he didn't feel like befriending someone like that.

Just then, a sharp female voice sounded, "Peter, with your mediocre massage skills, how dare you claim to be able to reset his bones? The technicians at the foot bath shop are better than you. Don't come here and deceive people, damaging the reputation of your grandfather! You just want to extort money from them because they look wealthy, don't you?"

The person was a young woman wearing jeans and a white shirt, with a sharp face and slightly crooked teeth. Thomas immediately recognized her as Adessa, his junior high school classmate. Adessa's grades were poor, so she didn't get into medical school instead.

Later, she used her connections to obtain a certificate as a side nurse. Unexpectedly, when she returned, she took away Peter's position at the community hospital. Originally, the Community Hospital was short-staffed, and there was no problem with Peter and Adessa working there at the same time. But Adessa had a brother named Bryan, who had liked Rachael since childhood.

Bryan made sure to make things difficult for Peter. Coupled with the fact that their family had some connections in the hospital, they found an excuse to kick Peter out. Thomas remained indifferent, "Adessa can you please keep quiet? I know your brother still hasn't

forgotten about my wife, but after so many years, you still target me everywhere. Isn't that interesting? My daughter is already six years old, and your behavior only shows your narrow-mindedness."

"What? You useless idiot, a gambling addict, how dare you say my vision is narrow? Do you believe I can make you unable to stay in this community?"

"Bring it on!" Thomas wasn't afraid of a small shrew. What a joke! He looked at Mr. Jackson and then at Michael, saying, "Treating those destined to be helped, if you two have the same idea as her, then I can only express regret. But for today I'm still very grateful for your help. Thank you!" Thomas was neither humble nor overbearing, bowing slightly to Michael and his grandfather.

Mr. Jackson looked at Adessa with a twitching brow."Young man, wait a minute!"

He stopped Thomas. At first, he thought Thomas was just talking big, and even wondered if he had met him somewhere and knew about his injury. After all, his family was prestigious in the city, and he had also appeared on TV and in newspapers. Although the community was remote, it was still within the jurisdiction of the city, so it was normal for him to have been seen by Thomas. So he was originally going to leave. But seeing Adessa's attitude, Thomas's words and demeanor were much better in comparison. So he stopped Thomas and let him try.

If Adessa knew that it was because of her that Mr. Jackson chose to believe in Thomas, what would she think?

 "Grandpa?"

Michael looked at his grandfather. Mr. Jackson smiled and said, "What Peter said is right, treating those destined to be helped, why not give it a try? We're tired from walking anyway, let's sit down and rest." Thomas walked back, with a slight smile on his heart. "Alright, please follow me. My family's store is just a few meters ahead." Seeing the old man and his grandson following Thomas, Adessa snorted, "Are you two idiots? I told you he's a fraud, yet you still follow him. Aren't you afraid he'll make your condition worse? Old man, you can still walk a few steps now, but don't blame me for not warning you when you become paralyzed!"

Mr. Jackson was angered by Adessa's words. "Hmph, my legs are mine. It's none of your business." After being glared at by the old man, Adessa felt a chill run down her spine and broke out in a cold sweat. When they had walked far enough, she stomped her foot in anger. "Crazy people, you deserve to be an old crippled man." They arrived at the pharmacy. Mr. Jackson asked, "Thomas, do you know who I am?" Thomas was taken aback and shook his head. "I don't know! Are you living nearby? I haven't gone out much." His expression and demeanor were extremely natural. As a business genius known as Divine Fingers, he relied on his blank expression to navigate the business world. Mr. Jackson looked into Thomas's eyes and confirmed that he didn't know who he was. He asked, "Then how did you know about my leg problem at a glance?" Thomas smiled, "Traditional medicine emphasizes observation, listening, questioning, and pulse-taking.

Orthopedics is the same. But I still need to touch it to determine how to treat it." As he

spoke, they arrived at the pharmacy. Thomas brought out a chair and asked Mr. Jackson to sit down, then rolled up his pants. As soon as his right hand rested on his leg Thomas's gaze and demeanor completely changed. His three fingers slid along the bones and tendons of Mr. Jackson's leg, sometimes fast, sometimes slow. Mr. Jackson's eyes lit up. He had seen countless doctors, including several renowned orthopedic specialists, who had used similar techniques to examine his leg. But he felt that Thomas's hand was particularly warm, as if he could feel the bones inside his tendons. He had walked a lot today, and his leg was sore. But this touch was incredibly comfortable. He even felt something drilling around inside his

 leg.

That was Energy! True internal energy.

Now Thomas finally understood. The internal energy stored in his energy center wasn't there by accident. It had been forming ever since Peter was a child, trained unknowingly through the Profound Heavenly Manual of Bone Alignment, a technique he had practiced with his grandfather.

The manual wasn't just for healing. It contained specialized bone-setting methods that required internal energy things as using energy to stretch tendons or correct dislocated joints. But back then, Peter's energy was weak just a faint trace. It was nothing like the power he felt now, ever since Thomas had taken over his body. During the recent fight with those thugs, he had felt his energy center ignite like a furnace. The internal energy burned hotter and hotter, flooding through his body. It enhanced his speed, increased his strength and when combined with his Eightfold destructive fist, it more than doubled his combat ability. Without that energy, he would've been beaten to death.

At this moment, watching Thomas examine Mr. Jackson's bones back and forth more than ten times without finishing, Michael became impatient. "Are you done? It's not supposed to take so long to examine him. Can you cure him?"

"Just wait a bit longer!" Thomas said, then actually put his ear to Mr. Jackson's leg and listened. Michael's mouth twitched. This man is probably a fraud. Just then, Thomas suddenly exerted force on Mr. Jackson's leg, causing it to make a "crack" sound. The old man exclaimed and jumped up, scaring Michael. He quickly pushed Thomas away and said, "Grandpa, are you okay? You scoundrel, if you ruin my grandpa's leg, I'll kill you." Thomas was pushed to the ground, and his wound opened up again. Mr. Jackson held onto his grandson and said, "Michael, don't be impulsive.

 Apologize to Thomas."

"What? Apologize to him? I won't do it!" Michael refused. Mr. Jackson quickly helped Thomas up and bowed to him, saying, "Thank you, Dr. Thomas, for your miraculous healing. I'm very grateful. Are you okay?"

Michael was shocked that his grandfather was bowing down to Thomas.
