Even though her heart was filled with countless grievances, Blair gritted her teeth and endured it, silently carrying her handbag toward the door. Just as she stepped out, she suddenly turned and asked Blaze, "Do you live here alone?"
What seemed like an innocuous question immediately set off alarm bells in Blaze's mind. He didn't know what Blair was up to this time. Raising an eyebrow, he replied, "The villa's staff all live here."
"Oh, that question was a bit abrupt," Blair said with an embarrassed smile, quickly explaining, "I didn't mean anything by it. The teacher asked me to come by often, and I was worried I might disturb your rest."
"I don't stay here often, Miss Gwyneth. You don't need to trouble yourself coming over," Blaze said, dismissing her in just a few words. Then, standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, he stared at her retreating figure, lost in thought.
