"Okay, okay!" Adrian shrugged in understanding and turned toward the hotel front desk to check in.
Just as he turned, Cecilia suddenly threw herself into Marylin's arms, tears falling like a broken string of beads, pattering down relentlessly.
"What's wrong?"
Marylin was startled, but Cecilia continued holding onto her waist, silently crying without saying a word. Marylin began to guess, "Did you have a fight with Blaze? Did he bully you? Men are all dogs, don't bother taking them seriously!"
On the topic of men being dogs, Marylin knew all too well.
After all, she herself had been bitten by a mad dog, only for that same mad dog to break up with her afterward, refusing even to pay for her return trip.
Thinking of this, Marylin gently stroked Cecilia's hair and patted her back to comfort her. "Don't cry. Men are all dogs. They're not worth our tears."
