Chapter 1 - Chapter one the unwelcome hair

the rain in seabridge didn't fall it swept in a relentless grey curtain soakings everyone and things in its path Clara clayman stood at the curtain watching the August rain as its drop beside her. Was her inheritance a three story bookshop called the loud page. It was not a welcoming sight the paint sign once bright and lively was now dark and Moody the chair looked worn out Clara didn't look at it as an inheritance rather as a prison sentence a year of her live mandated by her late uncle Jeremy will trapped in this godforsaken place in the forgotten concert of the world one more year of running this prison in the name of business before she would sell the crumbling business and return to her dream live in the lively city of London. Then she would return to her real live her glass and steel apartment in the wonderful city of London her demanding career as an architect her meticulous planed live she was living until the death of her uncle Jeremy. The heavy iron key felt like a lead weight in her hand it turn to the lock in a groan of protest as the very buildings refuse her access urgg she said and after a few try it let her in while preparing for the day. The smell hit her first it wasn't the just the scent of old book but it was a very pleasant papery aroma she might have expected she flicked the light switch one but of course the electricity was prop ably, grey light flashed through the room the tall shelf stood like a giant every concert of the room and an old leader also stood behind the corner to Clara she hated this things and wanted to returned back to her live in London as she dropped her suit case behind the door she muttered one more year one more year than to the business of the day as Clara first task was to find the fuse box in other to fix the electricity problems as her hands runs through leather and clothe spine as she thought about her late uncle a live she knew little to nothing about though he was a big impact in her live sending her strange books on the Christmas holidays tales of selkies and sailors before fading into the family footnote. As she looked through the window she saw a man on the other side if the glass after wiping the window clean she saw him more clearly he was tall broad shoulder his black hair fell to his face he worn a black jacket as he raised to knock at the window hesitantly she unlock the door and open a little crack can I help you she said as their eyes meet you must be Jeremy niece I heard you came so I just came for my book he said this not as a command but a simple statement of fact yours book she said the shop is closed and I just came so nothing is for sale she added not for sale he correct jungle cruise is mine 1998 that is mine your late uncle Jeremy was reading it we traded it before he passed on by the way am sorry for your lost he said as he pushed himself toward the door
