Chapter 1 - The Girl Who Came From Outer Space

In the dead of the night, the Wild Area seemed like a peaceful place to be. Croagunks croaked somewhere in swamps, Noctowls hooted to no end from above and other many Pokemon played their melody among the darkness.

It could have been just like any other night... Until something much stranger, a ball of light, came dashing from far away in the sky only to crash into the tall grass in a loud WHUMPF sound!

That something was Vita.

She sat up, brushing out the twigs that got into her long bright green hair, wincing and pressing her small black eyes shut in pain from the collision.

"Ah… successful landing. Ten out of ten. Only… my spaceship is gone, my Beheeyem is asleep, and… I'm wearing... human clothing?"

She looked at the said Beheeyem who was fast asleep, its colored dots at the arms glowing dully, a sign its psychic powers were almost out. Only then did Vita also realised that her Pokeballs were open, leaving out her Pokemons. Espurr looked around in confusion, Solosis bounced in its jelly-like bubble and Inkay yawned.

The alien girl sighed. "Yes, yes. I know. Step one: blend in with the local species. Do not let them know you are an extraterrestrial visitor here to collect psychic energy for cosmic travel. Easy."

And then, she heard voices.

"Oi, Hop, you sure you know where you're going?"

"Of course I do!"

"*sigh* Victor, make sure he doesn't get lost, will you?"

Three figures emerged from the tall grass: Gloria, with her satchel stuffed with Potions; Victor, calm as ever; and Hop, already pointing dramatically at Vita.

"You!" he exclaimed. "You're a trainer, aren't you, standing all mysteriously in the moonlight? Let's battle!"

Vita slowly blinked. "Excuse me?"

"You heard me right," the boy insisted. "I challenge you to a Pokemon battle!"

The girl quickly tried to remember all she learned about Earth. The relations between humans and Pokemons, the battles, the culture... And her cover story.

"Yes. Correct. I am… definitely a human. A regular trainer. Nothing strange about me at all."

Her Espurr tilted its head, clearly not buying it. But, strangely enough, the three childhood friends didn't react negatively to the excuse. Instead, Hop sent out his Wooloo out of his Pokeball, ready to battle.

Vita hesitated, but her eyes soon flickered in realisation. All these emotions these humans felt, the determination, the anticipation... It was what he needed to revive her fast asleep Pokemon and return to her planet!

"Very well," she said, striking a dramatic pose she had seen on a TV broadcast once. "Prepare yourselves… fellow humans!"

Hop pumped his fist. "Yesss! This is gonna be amazing!"

Espurr facepalmed.

After the battle, Hop wiped some sweat off his forehead. He won the battle, but it had been a tough one. He congratulated Vita while his friends took care of healing his Pokemons as he already had forgotten about it and was ready to ask a thousand questions to the cosmos girl.

Eventually, he asked the one that would be the beginning of everything.

"Hey, you're planning on taking part of the Pokemon League, right? Me, Gloria and Vicotr were heading to Motostoke to sign up the next morning. Why don't you join us?"

"Uh... Sure, that's what a normal trainer would do."

Before she could even finish her sentence, Hop grabbed her arm and happily dragged her towards the nearby city, his two friends soon following behind.

However, Vita was far to imagine that decision would be the start of a great adventure...
