Chapter 1 – "The First Day of Second Year"
---
Scene 1 – Open Gates
The gate of Aurora State School opens right at seven o'clock.
The morning sun reflects on the glass windows, and the sound of laughter mixes with hurried footsteps in the courtyard.
Groups of students reunite after vacation, exchanging hugs and stories. Some, alone, simply walk in silence.
---
Scene 2 – The Arrival of Claws
Claws walks through the gate with his backpack slung over one shoulder. He greets two classmates with a quick wave.
A childhood friend, Pedro, shouts from afar:
— "Hey, Claws! Ready for the second year?"
— "Ready? I'm already tired… and it hasn't even started yet." — he replies with a crooked smile.
---
Scene 3 – The Classroom
Inside the classroom, students chat in groups.
In the back row, a girl with straight brown hair and a shy expression sits quietly, flipping through a notebook. Isa goes unnoticed by most.
At the front, Rafaela doodles in her notebook without paying attention to roll call. The classmate beside her complains:
— "Are you actually going to pay attention today, or just keep doodling?"
— "This is art, not doodling. Learn something." — she answers with a grin.
---
Scene 4 – Diego's Entrance
The door bursts open. Diego strolls in late, carefree steps.
— "Morning, class. Did I miss anything… besides the boredom?"
Some laugh, others groan. The teacher raises an eyebrow but lets it slide.
---
Scene 5 – P.E.
In the courtyard, the students play soccer.
Lucas, easygoing, grabs the ball and calls Claws to join his team.
Mateus, chewing gum, taunts:
— "Him? Bet he can't even kick straight."
Claws frowns:
— "Wanna bet?"
The ball rolls, Claws takes the shot, but Mateus doesn't miss a chance to jab at him.
The tension rises, but Lucas steps in:
— "Relax, it's just a game."
---
Scene 6 – End of the Day
Back in the classroom, everyone looks tired.
The teacher gives out notices for upcoming assignments.
Isa quietly observes the commotion, clutching her notebook.
Claws, still annoyed with Mateus, throws a look that promises future conflict.
Rafaela, oblivious to the tension, sketches a funny caricature of the class.
Diego laughs loudly, drawing everyone's attention.
---
Final Scene
The (imaginary manga) camera focuses on Isa, alone, gazing out the window.
The afternoon sun paints the room in golden tones.
In the glass reflection, her eyes reveal something deep, though no one notices it yet.
