Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 2 (Light In The Woods)

The five friends left the van, searching for help, while Anna and Luka stayed behind.

They walked down the empty road, hoping to find a house or someone kind enough to help them.

After almost half an hour, Lisa sighed.

"How much longer do we have to keep walking to find help?"

Louis replied, "We have to keep going. That's why we came out here in the first place."

Lisa groaned. "It feels like we've been walking forever, and there's still no one out here."

Max tried to stay positive. "If we walk a little longer, maybe we'll find something."

Luna shivered. "This rain is so heavy… I feel like we might catch a cold."

"Lucky are those two who stayed behind in the van," Lisa muttered.

John answered calmly, "I told you anyone could stay behind. But you said you wanted to come."

Louis spoke in a worried tone. "I wonder what those two are doing. I hope they're okay and don't run into wild animals."

"I just hope Anna is fine," Luna replied irritably. "I don't care about Luka."

Louis scolded her. "You shouldn't say things like that, Luna. He's still your friend."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. But all he does is complain," Luna muttered grumpily.

Louis sighed heavily, realizing he couldn't stop their arguments anymore. After that, the group continued walking in silence, listening only to the endless rain.

Meanwhile, back at the van, Anna and Luka sat quietly. Luka had dozed off, while Anna kept staring out the window, hoping her friends would return soon.

But an hour passed, and no one came back. Worry began to cloud Anna's face.

"Hey… do you think everyone's okay out there?" she asked nervously.

Luka opened one eye and replied in an annoyed voice, "Why are you asking me? How the hell would I know?"

Anna frowned. "Why do you always have to be so grumpy? I was just asking."

"That's what I'm saying. How would I know?" Luka snapped.

Anna crossed her arms. "Talking to you is a waste of time. All you do is complain."

"Then don't talk to me. Nobody asked you to," Luka shot back.

Anna glared at him for a few seconds, then turned back to the window, her heart filled with worry as she prayed her friends would return.

---

Far away, the group had already been walking for almost an hour, but they hadn't found a single house or person on the road. The heavy rain soaked their clothes, and exhaustion slowed their steps.

"I don't have the stamina to walk anymore," Luna panted.

Lisa added, "How long do we have to walk just to find help?"

Max, also tired, suggested, "Maybe we should just go back to the van and wait until morning."

"I agree with Max," Louis said wearily. "We've been walking forever, and there's no one here."

"If everyone feels the same, then let's go back," John said.

The group nodded, ready to return, when Louis suddenly stopped. His eyes widened as he pointed toward the forest.

"Look! Over there… there's a light coming from inside the woods."

Everyone turned. Through the trees, faint but real, a light flickered.

"You're right," John said, his voice brightening. "If there's a light, there must be someone who can help us."

Luna hesitated. "Do we really have to go through the forest? What if wild animals attack us?"

Lisa agreed with her concern. "She's right. The light looks far away. Going into the forest might be dangerous."

But John shook his head firmly. "We've already come this far. We can't turn back now. That light may be our only chance."

Louis added in frustration, "Exactly. If we go back, Luka will just start complaining again. At least here, we found something."

The two girls sighed, but finally agreed. The group left the road and stepped into the dark forest, their hearts pounding.

They stayed alert, afraid of what might be watching them from the shadows. After nearly twenty minutes of walking, the light grew brighter. Relief filled their hearts, and they quickened their pace.

At last, they reached the source of the glow. But what they saw waiting for them… was something they could never have imagined.
