Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4 (Shadows Of Betrayal)

Their vision began to clear, and what they saw was something they had never wished to see. In the blink of an eye, they had entered the house—but instead of being inside, they now found themselves in a dark, endless forest.

They were no longer together. Each of them was separated, standing alone in the shadows of the trees.

The first one to open his eyes was Louis. Shock washed over him as he realized none of his friends were nearby. He remembered clearly: they had all stepped into the old man's house together. But now, he was alone in this terrifying forest.

Fear gripped his chest as he looked around at the gloomy trees.

"Hello? Guys, where did you all go?" he called out.

But there was no answer—only the silence of the forest.

Taking a deep breath, Louis tried to gather his courage.

Maybe I should go and look for them, he thought.

With that decision, he started walking into the darkness, hoping to find his friends.

When Luna opened her eyes, panic struck her heart. She immediately screamed their names.

"Guys! Lisa! Louis! Max! John! Where are you?"

But no matter how loud she shouted, no voice came back to her. The forest only swallowed her cries. Shaking, she forced herself to calm down. Finally, she whispered, "I have to find them…" and began walking through the trees.

Lisa slowly opened her eyes, and her body froze. The forest stretched endlessly around her, and she was completely alone. Her throat tightened—she wanted to scream, but no sound escaped. Fear paralyzed her legs. She regretted following John's reckless plan and cursed herself for trusting him.

"I need to calm down… I need to find them," she muttered under her breath, and with trembling steps, she forced herself to move forward.

John opened his eyes and immediately regretted his choices. He knew it was his fault they had followed the old man. But now, there was no turning back. He let out a heavy sigh.

I have to find a way out of here, he thought, before stepping deeper into the forest.

Max woke up, horrified by the dark woods around him. His heart pounded.

"How did I end up here? We entered the house together… how am I separated from them?"

Frustration filled him, and he whispered, "I should never have agreed with John…" Still, with no other choice, he started walking into the unknown.

Meanwhile, back on the road, it had been half an hour since Luka and Anna had left the van to search for their friends. The jungle surrounded them, but no matter how far they walked, they found no trace of anyone.

"I'm so worried… Where could they be?" Anna said in a trembling voice.

Luka sighed, his patience wearing thin. "I don't know. And stop asking me the same question again and again."

"Well, I'm sorry for worrying about our friends!" Anna shot back. "Unlike someone who doesn't seem to care at all."

"Hey, I do care!" Luka snapped. "But you're annoying me with the same question every two minutes."

The two exchanged glares before silently continuing down the road, tension heavy between them.

Deep inside the forest, Louis's fear grew heavier with every step. The silence pressed down on him. Just when his hope began to fade, he noticed a shadow moving toward him.

His heart skipped a beat—until the figure came closer. It was Luna.

"Louis!" Luna cried, running toward him. She threw her arms around him, trembling. "I'm so glad I found you. I was so scared."

Relieved, Louis hugged her back. "I'm glad you're safe, Luna."

When they finally pulled away, Luna's voice shook.

"Did you find anyone else? Or any way to escape?"

Louis shook his head, his tone heavy. "No… nothing yet."

Luna placed her hand over his. "It's okay. At least we're together. Let's find the others—and get out of this nightmare."

Louis nodded firmly. "Yeah… let's go."

In the dark forest, Lisa walked nervously, her body trembling with fear. She had no idea where to go or how she would ever find her friends. For nearly twenty minutes she wandered, but there was no sign of anyone.

Just as despair began to settle in, she saw a figure approaching through the trees. At first, her heart froze in terror—but when the figure came closer, relief washed over her.

"I'm so glad to see you, John," she breathed.

John hurried toward her, his face filled with relief.

"Lisa! You're okay. Oh, thank God—you're safe."

"Yeah, I'm okay… just a little scared," Lisa admitted, her voice trembling.

"It's alright. I'm here now. Let's find the others and get out of this place," John said firmly.

Lisa nodded quickly, and together they walked deeper into the forest, clinging to the hope of finding their friends.

On the other side of the jungle, Max stumbled forward nervously. His steps were shaky, his chest tight with fear. Every rustle of the leaves made him flinch. Under his breath, he prayed that someone—anyone—would find him.

Then, through the shadows, he noticed a figure moving closer. His heart raced until the figure stepped into the dim light. It was Luna.

"Luna… you're okay," Max said with relief, his shoulders relaxing. "I'm so glad I found you."

Luna's eyes lit up, and her voice was filled with excitement. "I'm relieved too, Max! I thought I was completely alone."

"Did you find anyone else?" Max asked quickly.

Luna shook her head. "No… only you."

"Then let's go together and look for the others," Max said.

"Right," Luna agreed with a nod. Side by side, the two of them disappeared into the forest, searching for their missing friends.

Little did they know… while they were pairing up and walking together, not everyone in the group was truly who they seemed.

Somewhere among them… an imposter was hiding.
