Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

immediately. As I gulped it down, I decided after that I would take a stroll through the kingdom and The night after the ceremony, I woke up in my quarters and poured myself some wine, almost gaze upon what it has to offer.

I made my way through the castle and the keep, as everyone said, "Good morning, ser Alex!" I felt very welcome here. When I got to the kingdom's heart, I gave everyone my heart. I made people smile and laugh, I bought some of the orphan's fresh fruit to fill their stomachs, I went into the inn and bought some of the men in there, fresh pints of honey ale, I told jokes to some of the people of the kingdom… here is one for you, why did the king go to the doctor for his tooth…? To get his crown fixed! I know it is stupid and silly, but the people seemed to like it and respond positively to them. With each joke they all laughed time and time again.

The city had all kinds of activity. There were market stalls, people walking and running in the cobblestone streets, kids playing everywhere, the inns were full all to the brim, full of drunks, guards, soldiers, busty wenches… there were all types of beings inside of all different shapes and sizes. This place was full of life and color!

While I stood near the market stalls people watching, I overheard a drunken male talking to one of the people in charge of the amulet stalls. It was a lady, as damsel in distress getting robbed by a smalltime bandit. "Give me all your coins and goods, lady! Or I will gut you like a fish!" he yelled, as he raised his pathetic little rusty butterknife. I made my way over there, quickly, as I saw her hand him her sack full of gold coins and a few of her precious jewels. I started to see red, as I went into full on rage mode burning up from the fumes in my brain.

She yelled out, "Thief! Somebody, help me!" as he started running away. I chased after him, but man, the little bastard was fast. He was no match for me, though. After running him down a couple of blocks, someone got in his way, and it slowed him down non intentionally. So, I grabbed him by his shirt and threw him down, face first into the rocky road.

"Think you are fucking tough, do you…? Robbing a defenseless woman, huh? The king will want to hear about this! You will swing for this you pathetic bastard. Now get up, you fucking coward!" I yelled to him, as I kicked him clean in the face with my boot. I picked up the sack of coins and then picked the useless shit up, as everyone clapped at my actions. We made our way back to the stall and I gave the woman her coin back along with the jewels.

"Thank you, sir! May the Gods bless your soul!" she told me, as she grabbed my hand with extreme gratitude and appreciation.

I then made my way back to the throne room to bring this scum before the king. I told Titus what this man had done, as I kneeled before him. "Hang this fool and get him out of my sight!" The king spoke.

"Mercy, my lord! I will clean the rats and shit from the streets and change my ways, I will do anything… please, sire?" he begged, as he looked intensely scared.

"Silence! I will hear no more from you. You impudent bastard! You should have thought about the consequences of your actions before you decided to indulge your depraved whim. You have brought great shame on yourself, and you have mocked the kingdom and its rules. Good day, boy." The king yelled, as they dragged him away to a cell and he wept for mercy.

"Very good job, ser Alex! Very good job, indeed. You have please me and the kingdom, dear boy!" He said, full of grace.

As I bowed my head and said, "Yes, your grace." Then started heading towards the exit. I opened the doors and looked down at the kingdom from the balcony. The view was nothing short of admirable. There was stone like structures from up here all the way to the gates, thousands of civilians scattered amongst the kingdom, they looked of mere ants from up here, the birds chirping and flying through the blue and open sky, the weather was perfect out today… not too hot nor humid. You could hear the faint chattering of the commoners. The forging of iron or silver from the blacksmiths, hammering down on the newly yielded blades or armor. It was a sight for sore ears and eyes.

I realized right then and there on that ledge, that I had done what I had set out to do, when I was a boy, and I didn't even have to try too hard to do it. It just happened naturally… granted, I had to go through a lot of my childhood and hell to get here, but I got here nonetheless. I knew that my journey had only begun. So, I better just enjoy this calm moment while I can, before the storm hits.
